This is my review and installation of the OPR dual-axis replacement mirror assembly, fitting all 2007 and up JKs. Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this mirror assembly, which is a very simple one out of three wrench install. These are not powered. They are not heated. There is no wiring necessary. Two bolts will get these installed on your Jeep in about a half an hour, but we'll talk more about that install in just a second. These mirrors are going to be a little bit unique. They are a full replacement housing, but instead of just giving you two flat glass mirrors on the inside, this is going to give you those dual-axis mirrors. And what that means is you have a main mirror up here which is going to function very much like your factory mirror, and then you have a smaller mirror that's a little bit more convex in the corner here which can be adjusted independently. And what that's going to do is really eliminate any blind spots that you might otherwise have on your JK. Now, because that adjusts independently, this is not something where you can just take the glass and snap it into your factory housing. It really does have to be a full replacement housing piece like these ones are, and I think these are really functional. If you have a lot of blind spots, if you have problems backing up or changing lanes, I think this is going to be a really good addition to your Jeep. Or if you have a broken mirror and you are looking to replace it with a factory-style mirror that has a little bit of additional functionality, I think this is a nice option. As far as the construction goes, these mirrors are designed to look just like your factory mirrors from the outside. They install just like a factory mirror. As I said before, if you currently have a power adjustable mirror or a heated mirror, you are not going to get that functionality with these mirrors. However, if you're okay giving up that function for the dual-axis function, this is an option for you. You would just tuck those wires away and not use them anymore. Or of course, if you don't currently have that functionality, these are going to be an upgrade, adding some additional function. These are also designed to install very, very easily onto your Jeep. All you need to do is remove two bolts to get these bolted up. No major modifications necessary. So as I said before, it is a one out of three wrench install that you can get done in right around a half an hour. The first step is, of course, removing that factory mirror from your door, which you can do with a Torx bit from the inside of the door. Again, two bolts to remove and that mirror will come right off from the outside. If you do have power or heated mirrors, of course, you'll have to unplug them at this stage. After that, you just insert the new mirrors into the door, replace the factory hardware from the inside and you're finished. All you need to do is adjust your mirror and enjoy the additional viewing angles that you get from the dual axis.A pair of these mirrors come in at right around hundred and $150 and when you consider an OPR replacement mirror that is a single axis, just a regular flat glass, one side is around $55. You're getting a pair of these for $150. It's only a couple more dollars for the dual-axis functionality, which I think makes a big difference. If you've never driven a vehicle that has a dual-axis mirror on it, when you do, you'll wonder how got along without it before. It's definitely not a necessity, but it is one of those luxuries that you will miss after you've had it for a while, if you go back to not having it again. So, if you have trouble when you're changing lanes or parking, just seeing behind you with your standard, traditional mirrors, this is going to be a really nice upgrade for you. Or if you've broken one of your factory mirrors, whether it be on the road or on the trail, and instead of replacing it with a factory mirror, you want something that has some more function, I think this is going to be a great option. So that's my review of the OPR dual-axis replacement mirror assembly, fitting all 2007 and up JKs that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.
