Merideth: If you need some help up into your 2007 to 2018 4-door JK Wrangler, this setup, Officially Licensed Jeep 3-Inch Round Curved Side Step Bars with the Jeep Logo and Textured Black will be a great option to take a look into. Now, the Jeep stock can be a bit tough to get into without having a step there, especially if you have larger tires or lift kit installed. And this set will do a great job at giving you that boost up into the cab area at a pretty affordable price point. Now, with the textured black finish and the Jeep logo stamped right into the stepping pads here, this is going to offer a lot of tough off-road and branded styling if you're in a searchable way to elevate the look for your JK as well. This will feature a sleek 3-inch wide build to offer a good amount of space to place your foot without being too bulky if you want to keep it more on the minimal side. Now, the ends will also be curved in for a finished appearance, tucking really nicely into the body. And the entire step as a whole will also add some lighter protection to your rocker area to any lighter kickup or door dings in the parking lot. Now, the steps will also include a large treaded stepping pad on the front and the back doors, which will help you with traction, especially on those wetter days. Now not to mention the large Jeep logo stamped right in the middle is going to offer that branded styling again and, of course, that Jeep-backed quality that you can rely on.These will be made of a heavy-duty 3-inch steel tubular construction, being able to hold up very well to any lighter impacts like I mentioned, before and offering good support out of the setup. Now, on top, you can also see this nice, fine textured black powder coat finish that's going to have a little bit of a wrinkle to it to add that off-road appeal, but also add more of a premium appearance and it's most importantly going to protect the steel underneath. Now, the stepping pads will be made of a tough plastic material to hold up well to the elements and match very well with the rest of the step. The kit also comes with all of the hardware and brackets that you need for an easy, no-drill install. The price on these are pretty great for the quality of steps that you're getting here, roughly $300. Now, compared to other options, this will keep it more minimal when it comes to the approach in the design, while offering a lot of function and styling out of this set of steps. Not to mention, being officially licensed by a Jeep says a lot when it comes to getting a pair of steps that you can trust to last the long run.Installing this will be an easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about two hours to get the job done with some basic hand tools. At this point, we can head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of what that install process looks like step by step. So that's going to wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man: For this install, you will need an impact, ratchet, 10-millimeter wrench, 4-millimeter Allen socket, 13-millimeter socket, and if you are using the nut inserts, you will need a 16-millimeter socket. What's up, guys? Today we're going to be installing some side steps on our Wrangler, so let's get started. So the first step of our install is going to be to insert our supplied nut plates into our existing body holes located down behind the pinch weld. And to do that, we're just going to slide them up into place and set them to where we can install our hardware. So depending on the trim package of your Wrangler, you may already have threaded holes ready for installation of side steps. Ours is a Sahara Limited, so ours already has that, which means we will not be installing our threaded nut inserts. But to do that, you simply just slide them in a hole and you'll be good to go. So for our mounting bolts, we're going to use our 13-millimeter bolts, a lock washer, and a flat washer to go ahead and do our rear mounting location on our front bracket. And once we get that in, we're just going to leave it loose for now so we can mount our two front mounting bolts. And for our two pinch weld mounting points, we're going to use our two 4-millimeter Allen head bolts, two flat washers, and a lock nut for each mount. And again, we're just going to leave these hand-tight for now, and you can go ahead and repeat the same process for your other two mounts. So now that we have all of our mounting brackets loosely in place, we're going to grab our correct side step for passenger or driver, and go ahead and set that in place. And then we will use our supplied 13-millimeter combo bolts to attach our brackets and our side steps and there's 2 for each bracket. So now that we have all of our components loosely installed, we can go ahead and start tightening down our hardware. And to do that, we're going to start with our pinch weld bolts here. And to tighten that down, we're going to use our 4-millimeter Allen socket on our ratchet and a 10-millimeter wrench. And then for our two bolts for each side step bracket, we're going to use our 13-millimeter socket on our impact, as well as for the upper rear mounting bolt behind our pinch weld. Now we can go ahead and tighten down our side step mounting bolts. And you just want to make sure your side steps are at the angle you want them. They do have a bit of rotation Get them nice and level. Then we'll use our 13-millimeter socket on our impact to tighten these down. So once you've completed this for this side, you can go ahead and repeat this process for your other side. All right, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our Officially Licensed Jeep 3-Inch Round Curved Side Step Bars with Jeep Logo and Textured Black finish for your '07 to '18 Jeep Wrangler JK 4-Door. Thanks for watching. And as always, for everything Wrangler, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
