      Video Review & Installation

Hey, guys. Today, I'm here with the KC HiLiTES 7-inch LED Gravity Series Headlight fitting all 2007-2018 JK Wranglers. So this is for the JK owner who already has a set of these lights, however has damaged one or busted one up on the trail and is looking for a replacement. So this is going to come as a single light. So, overall, in a package, these will be pretty similar to the stock headlight as a simple headlight. However, these will definitely clean up the front end of your Wrangler while still giving you maximum light performance with a brighter and a cleaner LED which is gonna increase your visibility, overall. So since this is just a replacement, this is going to be roughly $250 on the page right now. And if you're looking for a set, we do offer that. However, that price is going to double. So there are a ton of different options on the site right now for headlights, and they have can have a number of different price ranges, anywhere from $100 for the less expensive options, up to $900 for the premium name brand options. So for a set, this is going to come right in the middle at $500. And personally, I think that there are a number of different reasons for that that are definitely gonna pay themselves off. First of all, KC HiLiTES is a very well-known brand who makes high-quality products, and you can tell from this headlight, from their reflective diode technology. You're also getting a very well-built light that has an IP68 rating over the IP67 rated headlights that are usually those less expensive option. Plus, this comes with a 23-year limited warranty to keep a peace of mind in your investment. So personally, I think if you wanna keep this set of headlights, then it is worth it in the long run to get that replacement. So install is gonna be a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It's nothing you can't tackle in your driveway in about 30 minutes with a couple of hand tools. So, speaking of that, let's jump into the install. The tools that I used today for my install where a Phillips head screwdriver and a flat head screwdriver. So our first step to getting our new headlights installed is to pop our hood and pop off our grille. So I'm gonna take a flat head screwdriver and pop out these six clips that are holding on our grille. Can use a trim removal tool. However, I find these to be a little bit easier to get out with flat head screwdrivers. Just be careful of your paint. So, now, we can pop our grille off, and what we're gonna do is just fold this forward for the time being and that will give us full access to our headlights. If you want to, you can remove the fog light harness and fully remove the grille. Ours are stationary at the moment on our Wrangler, so we're just gonna go ahead and install our new lights like this. So when comparing the new KC headlights to our stock lights, the big difference out of these is that this is going to switch your halogen light to an LED. So, at a first glance, they are going to look pretty similar and have a very similar setup. So you're getting a chrome reflector out of both of them as well as a transparent and clear lens out of both of them. However, the new KC HiLiTES headlights will give you a brighter and cleaner LED light, overall. So these are also gonna be a lot more durable than your stock headlights. These have a black aluminum housing, and they have a polycarbonate lens and they are fully-sealed all around. So, in simpler terms, these will be able to take a hit on the trail and be okay, and they will still offer complete and full transparency for better visibility over your stock lights. So, like, I mentioned, these were fully sealed, so these are dustproof and waterproof with an IP68 rating, which is a high IP rating. You can be out all day on the trail, kicking up dust, and the dust won't get in and damage the LED light and the same goes with water. If you take a dunk in a puddle, these are going to be completely okay. So what KC did with the technology is really bump it up a notch. So they use a reflective diode technology where they take an LED and shine it backwards into the chrome reflector emitting the light out farther and dispersing it more evenly on the road for a better beam pattern and just really better visibility, overall. Like, I mentioned, these will be a lot brighter. Collectively, they'll be around 2,400 raw lumens at the low beams and about 7,200 raw lumens at the high beams when comparing it to your stock lights that only emit collectively 1,500 raw lumens at the low beams and about double that for the high beams. So you are getting a lot more light out of this, and that's really just because of the LED and the reflective dish technology that KC has here. So these are going to be a bright white light instead of your stock halogen lights that sit a little bit lower in the 3,000 range, and as you've probably noticed, they have a little yellowish hue to them. So these are gonna give a very refreshed and upgraded look to your JK. So enough about our stock headlights, let's bolt up our new ones. So before we mount up our new KC headlight, we do need to swap over our retaining ring so that will fit right over the headlight and that will allow us to mount it up and for it to stay in place. So after that, we can plug in our plug-and-play connector, and you should hear that click. There you go. Then, we can mount up our light with the same screws that we took out, or Torx screws. And this will actually have notches here that you can line it up and, kinda, press it into place. Before you pop your grille back on, there is an adjuster here. You can use a T15 Torx bit to adjust your headlights so they're not too high or not too low, and you can use a white wall or a white garage door to adjust those properly. After those are in, can move over to the other side. The same thing goes for this side. Click this into place, and we can attach our four screws. So after this, I'm going to check out the headlights, see if any adjustments need to be done, going to pop our grille back on. So, now we can pop our grille back on. If you disconnected your turn signals, you can connect them at this time. Just give it a little love tap, and then we can pop our six clips back in. So that's gonna wrap up my review and install on the KC HiLiTES 7-inch Gravity Series LED Headlight fitting all 2007-2018 JK Wranglers.
