    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from This is my review of the Quick-Draw Overhead Rack for Tactical Weapons fitting all 1987 and up Wranglers. Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this rack which is a very simple one out of three wrenches. This is designed to install in any Wrangler, install very easily, and come out very easily using nothing but tension, so there's nothing to drill or nothing to even bolt in place. We're going to talk about the build quality, and some of the features of this rack as well. This rack is going to be for those of you who want quick, easy, and safe access to your tactical rifles. This is going to easily and securely hold those rifles in a location that keeps them up out of the way, close to the roof whether you have a soft top or a hardtop. You'll have very easy access to those rifles with these Velcro straps, and everything will be stored nice and securely with the foam mounts. The rack itself is made of steel that's covered in a textured black powder coat finish. The clips for the rifles are made of plastic, so they are a bit flexible to hold everything in place nice and tight. They do have foam on the inside making sure that you're not going to damage your rifles when they're stored in here. These also have Velcro straps that have nice big loops on them again, making it very easy to attach and detach the rifle from its storage location. The bar itself is extendable from 42 up to 28 inches, so it'll very simply go between your sport bar, expand out until it's nice and tight, and stay in place. To get this installed again is a very simple one out of three wrenches. All you need to do is hold this up between your sport bar, putting this side against the sport bar, and then simply turning out the nut on this side until the other side of the rack engages the sport bar. Finally, there's a jam nut that you can tighten down to make sure everything stays tight. After that, it's just a matter of putting your rifles into the holder, and you're finished. The whole installation won't take you more than 15 minutes, and you won't need any tools at all except an adjustable wrench to tighten down the jam nut. In my opinion, this rack is pretty fairly priced. The build quality is definitely there, they take pains to make sure that the mounts are both secure, but also not going to damage your rifle, and also make it easy to access. If you use your Wrangler for hunting, and you want a safe, secure, and easy location to keep your tactical style rifles, this is going to be a really nice option. That's my review of the Quick-Draw Overhead Gun Rack for Tactical Rifles, fitting all 1987 and up Wranglers that you can find right here at

Will it hold rifles in place on the trail? Showing that, would qualify this as a true review.

        • The RedRock 4x4 Quick-Draw Overhead Gun Rack is designed to keep your rifles secure under all conditions on the trail.

You advertise one rack for rifles and another for assault guns. Is the a diffeeence between the two inside or what? Can you put a regular rifle in one mount and a AR style in the other mount (both with optics)?

        • Both racks are for two full-sized guns; there will be no difference. You can also mount a regular rifle and an AR style on the other mount with optics without issue.

Will the two gun rack fit in back seat area

        • This rack is able to be installed over either the front or rear seats.

Do you have to do anything to the roll bar cover or the foam under the cover?

        • No, you do not have to anything to the roll bar cover or frame as the RedRock 4x4 Quick-Draw Overhead Gun Rack for Tactical Weapons is a tension based mount.

Does the rack lock in place and keep the rifles locked in as well?

        • I wouldn't exactly go off-roading or rock crawling or anything like that as essentially what's keeping those guns in place are Velcro straps, but a simple trail drive, or of course street driving, this will certainly keep everything in place.

            1 2016 Wrangler - Colt13

            Threw it away

I bought this because I am allowed to have an uncased firearm in my state and it was going to hold an AR-15 and a shotgun. My first problem was that it sat way too low and passengers would hit their heads on it. I assumed that I must have installed it upside down and reversed it. This created a new problem because the term "Quick-Draw" became the word "Struggle to pry my rifle out of the brackets, velcro and frame" If an emergency rifle is your intention I reccomend just storing it under the rear seats.

            RedRock 4x4 Quick-Draw

I mounted mine in the back between the roll bars, I'm 6'3" and barely have any head room. I'm pleased with where I mounted it, all my back windows are blacked out and nobody would know if there's anything in the back.

            3 2016 Rubicon - Mikey

The product works great and is very sturdy. I placed it in my 2016 rubicon 4 door. I give it a 3 star because the tube is too long if you have the foam around your frame like the rubicon comes with. Thus I had to take the till cage foam out for it to fit and so the foam broke when doing so. The tube should be 2” shorter overall .

            Gun rack needs improved!

Should have a stablizer bar . pop ribbits should be screws so you can put the guns in ethere direction.the cross bar needs more holes.(get the rack over more to miss head). The straps should be rapped so there at the bottom of the rack .( not up agonist the celling, Or put a latch on it. I have a 2010 jeep Rubicon unlimited. I'm 5'8" the seat needs to lean back or the rack is an inch from my head.with a little more thought this could be useful. But for now it has to be modified to work. May work on a different vehicle not very good on mine

            Gun Rack

A well made, stout product. I added a piece of pipe insulation to cover the hardware and adjustable threaded end of the rack to protect the gun stocks. The design allows for several racked positions and works well with both rifles and shotguns. A nice option would be additional pieces of self adhesive foam to allow for a tighter at the bbls.

            Quick draw gun rack

It works mounted behind the speaker rail, if you try to mount it in front only one rack is available for use and it's too low, will cause a traumatic brain injury in an accident

            Adequate, but not perfect

If you are looking to mount these above the front seats, it will work, but not exactly as I had hoped. Head space is tight with it installed, so I slid it forward for more headspace. This, unfortunately, requires the sun visors to be put in the "down position" because it will block them from going up and down. I will probably end up modifying the bracket to make it more "user-friendly" (i.e. drill additional holes for the gun brackets). Honestly...could have went up to the local hardware store, bought the material required, and made this myself for a fraction of the price.

            1 2013 Wrangler - KermitG

I was looking forward to using this mount, but one BIG PROBLEM... If you mount the bracket on the front, your Passenger will have either the Barrel or The Butt of the Weapon right Against their Forehead. Back seat forget it ! The Rear passenger minus well put a Blind Fold on them and the weapon is going to be right in front of their Nose ! Lol... Lastly, I'm trying to make it work on the rear, the only problem is, since one side does not swivel the weapon will be on an angle. So, Sadly to SAY, IS NOT MADE FOR JEEPS ! Befor I forget, for Jeeps a Double Rifle mount is TOO BIG !

            Good quality

Great quality and fit very nicely but I do not think it will work in most cases where it was intended to fit. The guns simply end up being right in your face.

Good idea, not quite there on final design

For the amount of thought that went into this it is way over priced. The bar tends to twist with only one gun in it. A wider roll bar bracket would make a big difference. I added spacers between the square and flat bars to get it higher and then padding to stop scratching and squeaking on my roof and it does better.
