Popular Tire Sizes for this Wheel
I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review of the Fuel Wheels Maverick style wheel. This is a 17 by 9 inch wheel in the black milled finish, but this wheel is also available in an 18 by 9, and both sizes are available in a black with sheen finish as well. So there are a couple of different options so you can get what's right for your build.Fuel offers a more modern style wheel. They're definitely going to be flashier than your traditional steel wagon wheels or even a D window, so if that's what you're looking for for your build, Fuel is definitely a good option.Fuel wheels are a little bit more expensive than those basic steel wheels, but they're also not the most expensive wheel option that we have on the website. If you're somebody who takes your Jeep off road a lot and you're worried about getting rock rash on your expensive wheels, maybe you want to go with something a little bit less expensive. No matter what style or what look of the wheel you choose, the first thing you're going to have to do is make sure you get a couple of specs right. Once you pick the proper sizing and back spacing, it's mostly about aesthetics when it comes to wheels. The Maverick is an aluminum wheel that features a matte black finish with milled accents. It'll look really good no matter what color your Jeep is. If you're a fan of this modern styling, this is a really nice option. This is a uni lug wheel which means it'll fit on a few different lug patterns including the five by five on our JK. Now because it'll fit on a few different applications it's not going to be a hub centric wheel on our Jeep. Another spec to take a look at when considering purchasing a wheel, aside from just the lug pattern, is back spacing. This wheel features four and a half inches of back spacing which means it'll push the wheel and tire away from the center of the Jeep just enough to fit most popular tire recesses. This wheel will install just like most others onto your Jeep. Once you have your tire shop, wrap whatever your favorite tire is onto the wheel, you can remove the old wheels and put the new ones on. Now, when installing the lug nuts you will need to support the wheel a little bit more because it's not hub centric. Once you get the lug nuts torqued down you'll be able to install the plastic center cap cover with a couple of Allen keys. If you want to retain the TPMS system on your Jeep, make sure that your tire shop installs new TPMS sensors in the wheel, or have a calibrator handy to turn that feature off. One installation tip to keep in mind: if you plan on reusing your factory lug nuts and you have the factory wheel locks, your wheel lock key will not fit in the lug nut hole on these wheels, so you'll need to pick up a couple of extra lug nuts or a whole set of black ones to match the wheels. Construction quality is going to be pretty similar across the board when we're talking about wheels. What you're really paying for is the look and the finish. I think Fuel does a really nice job of making a modern looking wheel without being at the top of the price range. If you're out on the trail every weekend getting rock rash on your wheels, you might want to look at something a little less expensive. But, if you like the modern styling and quality finish of the Maverick wheel, I think this is definitely worth a look. That's my review of the Fuel Wheels Maverick style wheel that you can get right here at extremeterrain.com.

Fuel Maverick Rims
Rims look great! Couple of things I didn’t know about these rims and replacing 17 inch factory rims in general (until after researching). 1). 33 inch wheels don’t require lift kit (found that on the extreme terrain website as part of their ‘ordering process’)—just for record my Jeep doesn’t have lift kit. 2). These rims can use the non-locking ‘Jeep’ factory lugnuts but the factory locking lugnuts won’t fit (and do have to be replaced b/c the lock nut socket is too big for the holes in these rims). Several choices of replacement lug nuts from various manufacturers, but decided to go w/ gorilla automotive spline lug nuts 5 of the X-2 gorilla locking lug nuts (both of which will fit w/ these rims). 3)!the holes on these rims where the lugnuts go are recessed~3 inches, so keep in mind you will need an long 3/4 inch thin-walled sockets to attach and remove lugnuts (kind of like a spark plug socket) if you decide to use acorn lug nuts or factory lug nuts. 4). If you order The rims tire combo, was pretty easy find the Fuel wheels retailer in my area and contacted them for appt. to install the wheels (my area’s Fuel wheels is thru Discount Tires chain). 5) call to Extreme Terrain said the 33 inch tires rims are close to manuf’s weight limit (~81 lbs) for the spare tire rack attached to rear door of the Jeep (but didn’t exceed Jeep’s recommended 85lb limit). 33 inch tires also did not impede the rear bumper when attached to rear door spare tire mount. 35 inch rims or bigger probably would require reinforcing the rear door hinges new bumper/spare tire mount.Helpful (1)

Was looking to sharpen the look of my Wrangler and these definitely did the trick. They look awesome, love the black with silver accents. Not as heavy as some rims, which was an important consideration, didn’t want to cut the MPG any further.Helpful (1)

No longer just an SUV
I got the 17X9's for my stock 2015 Sahara Unlimited with BFG KO2's. These change the look of my Jeep from just any old SUV to something like a vehicle you might actually trust off-road. They arrived really quickly and were relatively easy to put on for a newb. The lug nut wells are deep, so you'll need an extension or a really long socket for your torque wrench. The Jeep lug wrench won't do it. It is too wide to fit. That being said, you should have a torque wrench anyway. The missing star from quality is due to 4/5 of the center caps all being broken on arrival. They are plastic and not up for the smashing that UPS apparently believes wheel boxes should endure.Helpful (7)

Very good looking room easy installation A lot of people like themHelpful (10)
Can you use the OEM tire pressure sensor with these rims?
Yes, you can use the OEM tire pressure sensor with these rims.
Can original factory installed lug nuts be used with these wheels? And are the lug nuts hidden under a cap?
Factory lug nuts can be used and will be under the center cap.
Is this a beadlock rim or is it available in a beadlock?
This wheel's beads are for appearance purposes only, and currently we do not offer the Fuel Wheels Maverick in a beadlock verision.
What is the weight of these?
This wheel weighs approximately 39 lbs.
What back spacing are these wheels?
The 17x9" Fuel Wheels Maverick Wheel runs a 4.5" backspacing.
The Fuel Maverick wheels do look awesome! We do not sell the hub centric rings, Fuel may have them, I would check in on their site to see if they are available.
The Fuel Wheels Maverick - Black/Machined will come with a black color, and machined aluminum face. This will not be an exact match for any OEM Paint Colors.
These Fuel Wheels Maverick can fit a 305/70R17, and it should not require any backspacing. The tire is about a 34" tire, so you would need a lift kit to fit the wheel and tire in the wheel well.
