    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from, and this is my review and installation of the Fox 2.0 Performance Series IFP Shock, fitting all 2007 and up JKs. These shocks are available for one-and-a-half to three-and-a-half inches of lift and four to six inches of lift, and they're sold individually as front and rear so, make sure you get the shocks that you need for your build. Today we're gonna talk through the installation of these shocks which of course is a very, very simple one out of three wrench install. These will just bolt directly in place of your factory shocks, and you should be able to get these installed in about a half an hour per shock or less, but we'll talk more about the install in just a second. We're also gonna talk through the construction and a few of the features of these shocks.Fox is a really well-known name in the racing world and what they were able to do is take all of that R&D from building race vehicles for years and put it into these shocks that you can buy and put on your JK. You're going to get a really comfortable ride from a Fox shock as well as a lot of performance, and a shock that's going to hold up and take a beating both on road and off road. Now, Fox does have a couple different levels of their shocks. They're going to all ride similarly. However, they're going to be made out of different materials, so they are going to be different strengths and hold up to varying degrees. This is the Performance Series which is going to be a really high-quality shock, very, very well-built of high-quality materials. We'll talk a little bit more about that in a minute. Now, because you are getting such a quality piece and something that's going to ride so comfortably from Fox, you are going to pay a little bit more for their shocks especially this Performance Series because as I said, it is one of their higher end shocks. But, if you're looking for comfort level, dependability, durability, this is going to be a really nice option for you assuming you have the budget for it. These Performance Series shocks are made of a 60601 T6 aluminum and covered in a clear anodized finish, which is opposed to some of the lower-end Adventure or Evolution Series shocks from Fox, which are going to be a lesser grade aluminum material. Some of them are powder coated instead of clear anodized, and again, that is going to be a price difference for you. With any of these Fox shocks, you are going to get nitrile bushings on the bottom and the top which are going to be both quiet and last a good long time, and you are going to get a nitrogen charged shock. Now, there are hydraulic shocks, and there are nitro shocks. The nitrogen in a shock like this is there to eliminate any foaming and cavitation that you can get from working a shock very hard. A hydraulic shock doesn't have that protection, and if you are doing some high speed off roading or going over a lot of washboards, you're working that shock over and over, you can get some shock feed caused by that cavitation and that bubbling of the shock fluid. With a nitrogen-charged shock, you're not going to get that. Now, in general, a nitro shock will ride a little bit stiffer than a hydraulic shock. However, the ride quality really comes down to the valving, and that's what Fox does really well. Again, you're going to get a very comfortable ride, but also something that's very stable on the road at speed. Bolting an aftermarket shock on your Jeep is a very simple one out of three wrench install that you can get done in about a half an hour per shock. The most difficult part about installing an aftermarket set of shocks on your Jeep is removing that factory set if you have any rust, especially on the front upper shock nut. If you have some rust, that can definitely slow you down. That's an area that's very difficult to get to with a wrench. Oftentimes, if you have a lot of rust on there, it's easier to just put a big breaker bar on there and break the top of the shock off. It's

Superior Ride. Take on any trail with confidence by installing FOX 2.0 Performance Series IFP Front Shocks on Jeep JK. Designed for use with a 1.5" to 3.5" suspension lift, this Fox Shock features an Internal Floating Piston (IFP) mono-tube design that separates the oil from the high-pressure, nitrogen-charged gas chamber. This IFP design eliminates oil aeration (foaming) allowing for maximum performance and control both on and off road.

Race Proven Pre-Set Damping. Fox specifically engineered their non-adjustable Shocks with pre-set compression and rebound damping. Fox’s race proven pre-set damping will give you the confidence you need to put your Wrangler through its paces both on and off-road without the need to make any adjustments.

Rugged Construction. Featuring a nitrogen charged mono-tube Internal Floating Piston design, this FOX 2.0 Performance Series Shock is fitted with a 5/8" hard chrome plated heat treated alloy steel piston shaft to provide better dampening and rebound, when compared to stock. Fox Shocks are manufactured with a 6061-T6 aluminum body for extreme strength and are completed in durable clear anodized finish for superior corrosion resistance.

Direct Bolt-on Replacement. Fox designed their Shocks to be a direct bolt on replacement for your JK’s factory shock absorbers. Please note that an alignment, by a qualified shop, is highly recommended after installation.

Limited One Year Warranty. Fox warrants their entire line of suspension products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials with a Limited One Year Warranty. Some exclusions may apply, please see manufacturer warranty for full details.

Application. This FOX 2.0 Performance Series IFP Front Shock is designed for use on 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JK Unlimited models equipped with 1.5” to 3.5” suspension lift. Sold Individually.

I'm looking to replace stock shocks for my 4 door JK. It is stock with no lift but I wanted to add a leveling kit. would I need to go with the 0"-1" or the 1.5"-3.5".

        • Thank you for your question. Most leveling kits add 2 inches in the front and 1 inch of lift in the rear. You would want to confirm how much lift you are adding and get the appropriate shocks! If you have any more questions or concerns you can always contact us directly!

I just install a Teraflex 1.5 performance leveling kit on my 2017 JKU. should I go 0-1 or 1.5-3.5 shock.

I'm not sure of the size lift I have on a used jk I purchased, looks like 3.5-4 inches. Will these 4-6 inch versions work at all if I'm at 3.5? I'm concerned that if I buy the 1.5-3.5 inch version I may come up short?

        • These will not work with a 3.5" lift.

These stocks went on in less than two hours for the whole jeep. Compression on them was great even gave my jeep a small boost in height after taking out those old over compressed shocks

stock height 2008 4 door rubicon

Installation was pretty easy - checked out several videos on YouTube first. Put Frame up on jack stands then lowered the axle to make installation a bit easier. One thing I noticed is there isn't much up travel with these. I have about 3". Maybe that's what it should be because the shock tube is just about the size of the original red rubicon shock.

The fox performance 2.0 shocks both from and rear and the fox stabilizer is worth the price. Had them installed at my shop and all went well. The steering stabilizer was done faster then an oil change. I noticed the big difference as soon as I drove away. Better ride and control

I’ve had these shocks on my Jk since 2015. The one rear seal went bad like anything overtime. If you’re looking for excellent performance, good looks, and a decent price look no further. I will continue to use these shocks for the lifetime of my Jeep and this company for parts. Fox will also rebuild any shock within a one year period if something malfunctions, they are a reputable company that have over engineered shocks. The performance are very stiff and when you break hard no front end dip or sag. If you’re looking for a stout 3.5 inch lift and to run 35’s these are for. Lastly Extreme terrain shipping was extremely fast, and customer support is excellent.
