Would this work on external spare tires for other vehicles? I've got a 1999 Honda passport that I'd like to mount my jerry can on and am finding nothing in the way of mounting optons. 1 answer

      No mounting hardware

I’m very disappointed that it didn’t come with any mounting hardware. I have no idea how I’m going to mount it on my 2017 Wrangler Unlimited.

      Very pleased

I only ordered the individual jerry can holders. They are good quality and very sturdy. Highly recommended and reasonably priced!

      Awesome Jerry can holder.

Strong and well made, not cheap stamped thin metal with spot welds. This baby was built to last.

This can tray is very well constructed and will work perfectly with the mount I fabricated. Down side is it did not come with the rubber mat or strap that comes in the full kit, it is tray only.

      Jerry can try ONLY

Can find mounting bracket for this. Extreme has fine print that there it doesn't come with the mounting brackets, and can't find it anywhere. Not good..... seriously who wants just a tray....

      Used on a 2016 Tacoma

I searched high and low for simple/reasonably priced can mounts that would work over my wheel wells in the bed of my Tacoma. These worked for my application, as I just drilled out the mounting holes a bit to fit a slightly larger bolt. I used a small plate with 4 holes in it to attach into my bed rails. Works great! One thing I will mention, these are slightly larger than metal jerry cans and sceptre cans ... little bit of wiggle room but I put a piece of rubber in there to fill the gap.

      Inaccurate Photo

The can is sturdy and fine. The photo shows it on the back of the tire, but that is actually a different product - you cannot do that with this item, as it does not include any brackets. Did look later and find a complete assembly offered, but this item does not have a clear description of what is included ( just the tray only...)

      A better way

You must look out for the small print, does not have mounting hardware! After finding out I decided to buy two 2.5 in 5/16th carriage bolts and nuts, lock washers, etc and place through the back side of spare tire with it off through the two holes not used for mounting spare, then drilled to match holes on the tray.put spare back on then tray. This works on factory 17'' rims. Saved almost 80 bucks and did not have to ship back Much stronger than the hardware on line. Have a jk 4 door Rubicon,2011

      High quality Jerry can carrier

I bought this to mount on my rear hinges for my Jeep Wrangler. It arrived in perfect condition, and was extremely high quality with thick steel and durable looking powder coat. I put a Sceptor MFC in it and it fit perfect.
