Review & Install Video
This Barricade rear floor liner is for those of you that have a 2007 and up 4-door JK and are looking to protect your carpeting in your Jeep as well as change up the look a little bit, and add a little bit of additional style. This is going to cover the area in front of the rear seats in your 4-door JK. It has an aggressive chevron-style stamped raised area in it and it's not really going to lock any dirt, spills, or other messes into the mat, so it's not just going to roll up. It also has some higher sides built in here again to capture any sort of messes, make it so that you can just lift the floor mat out, take all the dirt with you, hose this thing off, clean it up, and throw it right back in again.
Now, floor mats in general, are one of those parts that are a little bit more expensive than you might expect them to be once you start shopping around. These ones do fall right into the same price range as a lot of the other floor mats on the market. They are still going to be a very high quality floor mat, so I do think they are going to be worth the cost. Now, you can get some universal fit floor mats that you can throw in the back of your Jeep. Maybe something that you'll have to cut down to make it fit, save yourself a couple of dollars, but you're not going to have the same high sides or the same raised area in the middle to really hold onto those messes.
As far as the construction goes, these are a thermoplastic format, as with most of the other ones on the market, so they are going to be flexible but still durable. You have to remember you're putting your feet on these. You're standing on them. You're walking on them as you're getting in and out of the Jeep. So you do want them to be nice and strong. And, as I said before, they do have a little bit of a higher side on them and they're chevron patterned, so they are going to lock your messes into place. These are also going to have a rubber and nib pattern on the back side of it, which is really nice, because it's going to lock into that factory carpeting and really keep the floor mat from moving around under your feet. If you bought some floor mats in the past that don't have that nib pattern on the back of them, you'll know that they can just get pushed forward, especially if you have kids in the back seat kicking their feet around all the time, they're gonna move around a bit. These ones are gonna lock in place and stay exactly where you need them, so that they can do a good job of protecting that carpet.
As far as the installation goes, obviously this is just a floor mat. There's not a lot of install involved here. You just set it in place in the back of the Jeep. As you can see, it's all one piece here, goes right over the hump, the nibs lock into the carpet, not a lot of work as far as the installation goes. You're gonna be able to get these dropped into the Jeep in less than five minutes. I mentioned before the floor mats, in general, are a little bit pricey and these ones do fall right into the middle of the pack as far as the price range goes for a one-piece rear set of floor mats for your 4-door JK. So, I do think you're getting a good bit of quality here. I do think these are going to be fairly priced when you compare them to the other floor mats on the market. If you are looking for something that's more of a cheap throw away option, you can get something universal fit from your local auto parts store. But if you want something that's going to fit well and really do its job well, I think that this is going to be a fairly priced and well-built option.
So if you're looking for a quality floor mat for the rear area of your 4-door JK, I definitely recommend taking a look at this one from Barricade. And you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.
