Hi, guys. So today we're checking out the Barricade Two Bar Removable Roof Rack, fitting all 2007 to 2018 at JK Wranglers. So if you are looking to maximize the storage space inside your Wrangler, you're looking for an affordable solution to do so, this option by Barricade is gonna be a great choice to take a look into.Now, this roof rack is gonna consist of two crossbars and four heavy-duty clamps that you can easily install and remove whenever you'd like. Now, this is gonna be for the Jeep owner who is looking to mount up any larger cargo that they can't or don't want to fit inside of their Wrangler, including skis, snowboards, kayaks, bikes, and so on.Now, what I do really like about this is the fact that this will accept a more universal-style mount as well to mount up any of those items or you could also mount up a basket if you'd like to do so. Now the other thing that I do really like about this is the fact that it is very easy to remove whenever you're not using it. It is gonna have a low-profile design if you do want to keep it mounted up on top of the Wrangler. However, if you don't necessarily need to use it. you can easily unclamp the clamps on either side, take it off, and put it back on whenever you need to mount any cargo up.So after you're finished using your roof rack, and you'd like to take it off your Wrangler, it's very easy to do so, all you have to do is pull up this clamp. We can unthread the clamp. Now, once this is loosened up, we can do the same thing with the other side, and we'll be able to pull this crossbar off and do the same thing for the back one. Now, this will be made of a heavy-duty steel material, it's also gonna have a nice textured black powder coat finish on top to reflect that material underneath, but also to match with any other heavy-duty accessories that you may already have on your Wrangler. So these are gonna be roughly $230 making these a pretty affordable option for a roof rack.Now, other solutions for roof racks on the page are usually going to consist of a crossbar style like this, which is usually gonna be for those larger items. They may consist of a basket style for some of those smaller items, and then there are going to be the frame-mounted or body-mounted options that are gonna completely cover the whole Jeep. Now, with this, it keeps it simple, low profile, and again, it is going to be removable, very easy to put on and take off your Jeep in comparison to some other options that will not be able to do that so easily like this choice will. And it's also going to be pretty versatile. If you want to add a mount to this, you definitely can do so instead of something like a basket option where you really can't take the basket away from the roof rack.So it really kind of comes down to personal preference in your application and how you want your roof rack to be set up. But if you're looking for something simple, sleek, and very easy to use then this is a great choice. As far as install is concerned, I'm gonna give this a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. This is very easy to put together and get on your Wrangler with a couple of basic hand tools in probably about an hour. So speaking of that install, let's jump into that now. The tools that I used for my install were a 17-millimeter wrench and socket, and then an electric ratchet.So what we can do first is assemble our clamps or our brackets for each side of our roof rack. Now, we're gonna have two main pieces. This piece is going to attach to the actual crossbar, and this is gonna be one of our clamps so it's gonna go around the drip rail on our hardtop. Now, what we're gonna do, there's a little slot on the back here, we're gonna make sure that that threaded nut is facing the inside and then we can just push that into place. We can grab our actual clamp here, with a bolt on the end, and our washer, this is gonna have a little cutout to allow it to slide back and forth. We're gonna thread that into the top of our clamp here.Now, we're just gonna clamp that in or, kind of, loosely install that for now. Then we're gonna look at where we need to clamp this down. So I'm just gonna pick right there, you can really pick wherever you'd like on the drip rail. I'm gonna pick roughly the center of our freedom panel upfront and roughly the center of our drip rail on the back above the back door as well. Now, once you have a location where you want to mount that, what we can do is take this felt, peel off the backing, and we can put this on the drip rail where we're going to attach our bracket to. Now, this is just gonna protect the paint. Make sure that nothing is damaged in the process of mounting up our roof rack.Now, once that's in place, what we can do is loosen this up. And we're gonna clamp one side and then we're gonna do the back one and then we'll put on the crossbars and finish up the process on the other side. But essentially this is gonna sit on here like this and we're gonna tighten it up. And then once it's sitting in place, we'll be able to clamp it down. And it should stay in place just like that. Now we can repeat the process for the back one on our passenger side.So what we can do at this point is take one of our crossbars, and this is gonna sit underneath our bracket, we're gonna line up this mounting location and we're gonna bolt it through the bracket into the crossbar. Then we can secure it on the other side with a washer, lock washer, and nut. Now, once that's slightly threaded in, we can do the same thing for the front, and then we can install our clamps over on the other side as well. So then we can just repeat that same process for the clamps over on the driver's side as well.So once you have all of your bolts through, what we can do is tighten them up with a 17-millimeter wrench and socket. So at this point, you just want to go back and make sure that your clamps are tightened down completely, and then you'll be all set to go. So that is gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
