When you are crawling underneath your YJ, preparing it for your off-road experience, be sure to check your brake lines and hoses. Those brake hoses were meant to be flexible. If they start cracking, flaking or corroding, it’s time to change them out. Changing your Jeep YJ brake lines and hoses can be done while changing the wheels of your YJ. Once you’ve removed the wheels, you have access to the hoses. Cap off brake lines to prevent brake fluid leakage, change out your lines and hoses with a few easy twists of a line wrench and you’re ready to go! Don’t forget to bleed your lines for any air bubbles, and replace lost brake fluid. Test your brakes before taking your YJ off road.
