The average snatch block is a pulley inside a metal casing that weighs about ten pounds. It is used to help increase the power of a recovery winch while reducing the stress and strain heavy hauls have on basic parts and components. Jeep TJ snatch blocks are particularly helpful during angled pulls when the winch cable does not have a direct and unobstructed path to the structure it is using to tow the vehicle to safety. As helpful as they may be, it is important to note that snatch blocks can be extremely dangerous when improperly attached. New drivers should never use them without proper instruction and supervision.
