Hey, guys. So today, we are checking out the WJ2 Full Width Front Bumper with the Bull Bar, fitting all 2018 and newer JL Wranglers. So if you're in search of some heavy-duty protection for the front end of your Jeep, and you're looking for a premium bumper that's gonna add a lot of functionality to the front end as well, this is going to be a great choice to take a look into.So as you can tell, this is going to have a full-width design, which will provide a lot of protection to the front end. Perfect for somebody who is doing a lot of off-roading or even crawling, all while they're out on the trail. This is going to have those ends that come out just enough that are going to cover up a lot of that front tire there and provide some protection to the fender. Not to mention you're also getting a bull bar up top that's going to provide that protection to the grille itself. Now, this is going to be made of some premium materials, a heavy-duty thick steel. And what I really like about this, it's going to have a texture and a black powder coat finish, but it is going to be a fine texture, black powder coat. So it's going to provide a very sleek look while assisting in the heavy-duty off-road, a look that it's already getting out.Not to mention, it's going to come with a number of different features, a lot of features that some other bumpers are unable to offer. We're getting a drop in winch plate with this, which is going to add a little bit of protection while also giving you a little bit more strength out of a winch plate. You're getting a dual D-ring mount and tow hook on the front, perfect for recovery. If you need a recovery point while you're out on the trail, this is going to provide about four of them. Now, speaking of recovery, you're also getting Jack mounting points on this front bumper. So not only are you getting the winch mount, and the D-ring mount in the tow hooks, but if you need to use your Jack on the trail, you can do that with this front bumper. Now, there are a couple of other things that I do personally like, which are going to add a little bit more functionality and some creature comforts in comparison to some other choices. This is going to come with recessed fog light mounts, and you will be able to swap over your factory fog lights. But what I do personally really like about this is the fact that there's a universal mount behind there and there are a couple of other mounts on the front bumper in order to add auxiliary lighting. Now that just, kind of, gives you the choice to customize your front bumper to however you want it to be set up. So I personally really like that out of this setup. Now, as far as the pricing is concerned, like I said, this is a more premium choice so it is gonna come in at the higher price point at about $1,100. Now, in my personal opinion, I think that that's set at a pretty good and pretty fair price point for what you're getting.Again, a lot of these features that you see on this front bumper are not going to be included with some of the more affordable choices. So, again, if you're looking for something that's going to provide a lot of functionality, a lot of protection to the front end of the Jeep, this is going to be right up your alley. So, install is going to be a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It is a pretty easy two out of three. You are gonna need a couple of basic hand tools and probably an hour to two hours' worth of your time to get the job done. So speaking of that install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, an 18-, 17-, 6-, 8-, and 7-millimeter socket, a 1/4-inch drive ratchet, the provided Allen key, a trim removal tool, and an electric ratchet. So the first step to removing our bumper is to remove our upper splash shield. I'm gonna use a trim removal tool in order to remove the top clips that are holding it in. You could also use a flathead screwdriver. So our next step is actually underneath the Jeep. We're gonna take off the lower splash shield. I'm gonna take out the 8-millimeter bolt on the back of the splash shield with an 8-millimeter socket. There's gonna be one on either side. Once that's removed, what we can do is remove the clips on the front. I'm gonna use that same trim removal tool that we used with the upper splash shield.Next, we can remove the front skid plate. I'm gonna be using a 16-millimeter socket to remove the two bolts that are holding it in. I'm also using my electric impact. Now, at this point, what we can do is just give it a good push up, and it'll come right off. So now what we can do is disconnect our main fog light wiring harness. So we're just going to press down on this tab here. It might be easier to actually remove it from that clip. We're gonna press down on that tab and pull back. And then once that's removed, we can actually remove our bumper by taking an 18-millimeter socket and removing the hardware that's attached to the back of the studs that's holding our bumper onto the frame. So I'm gonna take that 18-millimeter socket again with my electric ratchet and we can go ahead and remove those. There's gonna be two on each side of the fence. Then we can repeat that for the other six steps. At this point, what we can do is remove our front bumper. So, because we need to swap over our fog lights, we need to take out the fog lights themselves as well as the harness. So you are gonna need a 7-millimeter socket for this, and you're also gonna need a trim removal tool. So what we're gonna do is take off these trim pieces on the side, and then we'll be able to access the back of our fog lights. You can do the same thing on the other side.So now, we have access to the back of our fog light. We can depress this clip and pull back to unplug it, get that out of the way. Then what we can do is remove the four screws that are holding it in. I'm going to use a 7-millimeter socket for that. Then we can do the same thing on the other side.So what we need to do now is remove this front plastic piece from the actual bumper. It's held in by multiple 7-millimeter screws, just like the fog lights. So I'm gonna take that same at 7-millimeter socket, so we can get this front part off, expose our wiring harness and completely unclip it.So once all of those are out and the bumper is on its face right now, we can take that same trim removal tool and just pop the clips out of the back of the bumper on either side. It's gonna be two. Then we can flip the bumper over, pull up from the bottom, and push this plastic piece around the tow hook. And then we can just take this off and that will expose the rest of the wiring harness up at the top. We'll take that same trim removal tool and just completely remove the harness. So before we hop into the install, I do want to stop down and tell you guys a little bit more about this new Western front bumper in comparison to our factory one and tell you some of the similarities and the differences between the two. Now, right off the bat, you can tell that this is going to be a huge upgrade. And not only is it going to be an upgrade in materials, but it's also going to have a number of different features in the build and the design itself that are gonna be a big change from the factory front bumper. Now a brief overview of our factory front bumper, this is gonna be made out of a plastic material. There is gonna be a standard steel crash bar on the back. You're getting tow hooks for this for recovery and then you will have the mounts for your factory fog lights. Now, in a nutshell, this is going to be great for stock applications. However, it's not gonna provide a lot of protection to the front end of the Wrangler, and you're not getting as many benefits as this option will offer. Now, speaking of that, this is gonna have a heavy-duty steel build. So this is going to provide a lot of protection for the front end of the Jeep. It's gonna have a nice texture, black powder coat finish on top to protect that steel underneath and create a very heavy duty and off-road appeal. Now, this is also going to have that bull bar up at the top that's going to give you some extra protection for the grille. So this is going to be able to handle the trails, handle, whatever you throw at it, and it is going to do a really good job at protecting the front end of your Jeep. Now, this new front bumper is also going to be a standard or full-width front bumper, just like our factory one. So it will give you some extra protection to the fenders as well as the tires, but what I like about this is the fact that it is angled up a bit. So this will help you out with clearance on the trail as far as pro Jangles [SP] go. And it's going to help you out with fitting a larger wheel and tire in comparison to the factory one that doesn't have much of an angled-up end. Now, this is also going to have some of those that major benefits over the factory one. This will come with tow hooks. However, this is a two in one so you will get a welded D-ring mount on that tow hook, perfect for recovery if you get into a sticky situation on the trail. This is also gonna have a drop in winch plate, which I do personally like. It's a little bit stronger and it's going to be a little bit more protected. Then you're also getting Jack mounts on the bottom, again, for recovery if you get into a sticky situation. Now, this is also going to come with not only mounts for the factory fog lights, whether you have the halogen or the LED package, but this is also going to have a universal mount in the back. So you can add any auxiliary lighting that you choose. If you want to choose a cube light out or any other spotlight or fog light for the front end of your Jeep, you can mount that up there. And it is also going to have other light mounting options included in the bumper. So, overall, this is going to add a lot of benefits, a lot of functionality, and a lot of protection to the front end of your Jeep in comparison to your factory front bumper. So what do you say we go ahead and install our new one? What we can do next is mount up our fog lights. So you're going to have three mounting locations here for your factory fog light. This is going to depend on which factory fog light that you have. There is also mounting locations for the sports style one. I'm gonna be using the LED package, Sahara style fog light. Now, there's also going to be a universal mount here. This is for your auxiliary lights. If you would like to put those in, I'd recommend them do those now, before we go ahead and put the bumper on the Jeep. Now, what we can do is take our longer bolt and our flat washer as well as our spacer, line that up with one of the mounting locations. What I personally like to do is put it down and through. It's a little bit easier to access the other side for that nut. Then we'll take a washer, supplied nylon lock nut, and thread that on.Repeat that for the other two. Unfortunately, we can't use this one because the [inaudible 00:15:17] is broken, but we are able to use this mounting location up at the top here. And we can take our provided Allen key and a 7-millimeter socket and tighten that up.So what we can do is mount up our front bumper. There are studs on the bumper. So once we put it up on the frame horns, it will be able to stay in place. You may need a friend. It is, kind of, heavy. So once it's in place, what we can do is take our provided bolt lock washer and flat washer, thread that from the front to the back of the bumper through the frame. And that'll make sure that it's in place and we can go ahead and secure the hardware on the outside as well.So once that's on, we can go to the outside studs, secure them down with a flat washer, lock washer, and nut provided.Once that's sorted into place, what we can do is take a 17-millimeter deep socket, and I'm gonna use the electric ratchet that I was using before. We can tighten those up. And then we can repeat that for the other hardware as well as the studs on the other side. So, at this point, all we have to do is plug in our fog lights. So we're gonna take the wiring harness, take the single plug, put that on the driver's side, clip that in. Then you can run this however you'd like. I usually like to run it underneath the winch plate or through the winch plate depending on how much we have. We can plug it into fog light on the other side and then plug it into our main harness. Now, there is a decent amount of wiring that is left. So what you can do is just clean that up by zip tying it up and out of the way, just making sure that it's out of the way of any moving components and you don't want to get it snagged while you're out on the trail. So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
