Review & Install Video
I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com and this is my review of the Vision X LED light cannons fitting all 1987 to 2016 Wranglers. They're available in both the 6.7 inch and the 4.5 inch sizes. This is definitely a top tier light with a top tier price tag. But, if you're looking for a ton of light output that's going to reach really far distances and you have the budget for it, these are a really nice option.
The housings for both of these lights are hybrid aluminum and polycarbonate which means they're going to be really strong and really light. And if you scratch them or damage them down the line, you won't have to worry about them corroding or rusting. Both of the lights come right out of the box with the included adjustable mounts already installed, which is a nice feature, and they'll allow you to use any traditional single post mount bracket to get them bolted onto the Jeep. Now, the 6.7 inch is a little bit large and cumbersome to mount on some of the more traditional locations like the A pillar or bumper hoop but the 4.5 inch is just the right size to put anywhere you need some additional light.
Something that makes these lights unique compared to a lot of other auxiliary LED lights on the market is that these are single LED lights. The larger light comes with one 50 watt LED and the smaller with one 25 watt LED. Something else that makes these a little bit unique is that the reflectors and the lenses right out of the box are really simple. They'll produce a spot beam that shines really, really far. But, you can change out the lenses to give you additional beam patterns as well as different colors for different driving situations.
Like I said before, these lights come right out of the box with the included adjustable mount already installed on them that allows you to put the light on any bracket that accepts a traditional single post mount. That gives you a lot of flexibility with where you mount these.
Something I like about these lights over even a lot of other top quality lights on the market is that these include the wiring harness with them. The wiring harness makes installation really simple. They're completely plug and play. You're going to pick up a positive and a negative at the battery and you'll have to route your switch wire through the firewall but you won't have to do any soldering or cutting. Installation for these lights should take about an hour including the wiring. You won't need any specialty tools, just some sockets, some wrenches, and some Allen keys. I would recommend that you have a wire fish or just a metal hanger that you can straighten out handy to help you pull the wire through the firewall.
Something else that I recommend for these lights is that you invest in the additional stone guard, especially for a light that's this expensive. These lenses are going to be really strong but with a light that you spent this much on it is nice to have an extra layer of protection.
Like I said before, these lights are really expensive, but I feel that you get a lot of value for your money. They're really well built and they throw a ton of light. In fact, this larger light will throw light up to a half a mile and that's a lot further than a lot of the other lights on the market.
Something else that makes me feel like you get a lot of value out of these is that they do include the wire harness. Like I said before, even a lot of other top tier top price lights don't include the harness but it's a really nice feature that Vision X does include.
So, if you're somebody who wants to add some auxiliary lighting to your Jeep and you need, or just want, the top quality light and you have the budget for it, I definitely recommend the Vision X lights. From build quality to light output to what's included, you get a lot of value for what you pay. So, that's my review of the Vision X LED light cannons fitting all 1987 to 2016 Wranglers that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.
