      Description

      Storage Benefits. Tuffy's Security Glove Box is designed to replace your Jeeps factory plastic glove box. This Glove Box provides excellent security for small objects, paperwork, and the like while out on the road or the trail. The push-button lock and 10 tumbler key furnish a strong defense for the contents. Tuffy's patented Pry-guard II locking system with 1/4 inch steel latch allows the box to be shut firmly without locking.

      Design. Manufactured from 16 gauge steel, the lid measures 9.25 inches high by 15.5 inches wide. The interior dimensions, which are tapered, are 6.5 inches deep at the top and 5.625 inches deep at the bottom; 12 inches wide at the front and 6.75 inches wide at the back; and 4.25 inches tall at the front and 3.25 inches high at the back. The glove box has a black powder coated finish for extra durability.

      Installation. The first step in fitment of the Tuffy security glove box is removing the plastic factory box. This is achieved mostly by removing 10 mounting screws, which are set aside to use with the security glove box. The Tuffy box is then fastened in with the mounting screws. Two additional holes should be drilled to attach the lock mechanism to the dash (though this is theoretically optional, not doing so largely defeats the purpose of installing the glove box). Once mounted, check operation, then lubricate the mechanisms frequently.

      Application. The Tuffy security glove box is compatible with the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and the 2004-2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
