Merideth: If you're experiencing any shimmy or flightiness on the front end of your 2018 or newer JL Wrangler, this TerraFlex 9550 VSS Steering Stabilizer for the Stock Tie Rod will be a great solution. Now, this will do a great job at helping take the load off of your steering components of your Jeep, upgrading a smoother ride and more responsive steering. Now, this will be especially helpful if you feel some of that flightiness while you're on the highway, and this is a good way to tighten it up, offering a good driving experience. Now, I would like to mention right up front that this is not gonna be a solution for death wobble, but this will help if you're experiencing any small feedback in your steering or have an issue with wandering tires. Now, this will feature a pretty straightforward design, set up similarly to the factory stabilizer while bringing more performance to the table. Now, this will feature an oversized 2-inch shock body and an integrated dust shield to offer a strong build in protection from any obstacles or damage that you may encounter when you're on or you're off-road. Now, the stabilizer will also come with premium seals to prevent any leaking or pressure loss, especially if you're working the stabilizer a bit harder in more off-road situations. When it comes to the makeup of this, this is going to have a steel shock body with a texture black finish on top to protect the steel underneath from any rusting and match with any other suspension components, TerraFlex or not. Now, the stabilizer will also include a 5/8-inch induction hardened triple chrome plated rod for optimal strength, preventing any nicks or bending in the rod itself. Now, the ends will also have upgraded bushings for longevity compared to the factory system, and will install it with the factory hardware so you don't have to worry about any modification when it comes to this kit. Now, this will come in roughly at $125, making it a pretty affordable option. Now, compared to other choices in the category, this is going to be more of an entry-level, or again, on the simpler side, which is great if you're not looking for a super fancy system and trust the basics. Now, this is going to save you a little bit of cash while still getting a lot of function and quality in the components, making this an overall great pick. Now, install will be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about 30 minutes to get this onto your JL. Now, at this point, we can head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of the install and what it looks like step by step. So that's gonna wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man: Tools required for this install include, an impact gun, an extension, and an 18-millimeter socket. What's up, guys? Today, we're installing a steering stabilizer on our Wrangler, so let's get started. So to remove our factory steering stabilizer, we have an 18-millimeter bolt and an 18-millimeter nut that we need to remove. So we'll pull out our bolt first, and then remove our nut and pop out our stud.So now we can take an 18-millimeter socket to remove our bolt. And then we can remove our nut with that same socket. And now we can push up on our stud, press our stabilizer enough to wiggle it out. So now we can install our new steering stabilizer. Now, you might have to pull this end out just to line up your mounting holes. And then we'll just throw it back in, reinstall our factory hardware, tighten it down, and wrap up this install. So now we can slide our steering stabilizer into place. And then we're gonna put our bolt through at the top first. And then we can hand-tighten our nut. And then on the other side, we're gonna slide our bolt through and we have this welded nut on the tab for the backside. And then we'll just get our nut into place and thread our bolt through. And then we can tighten these down both with an 18-millimeter socket. Now, you might have to hold the stud up here and make sure it doesn't pop out and spin.So that'll wrap up this review and install of the TerraFlex 9550 VSS Steering Stabilizer for Stock Tie Rods for your 2018 and newer Jeep Wrangler JL. Thank you for watching. And for all things Wrangler, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
