If you're like most real Jeep owners, I know you love keeping your hard top or soft top off as long as possible. But if you can't keep your Jeep in the garage, or you're out on the trails camping a lot, you've probably found yourself dealing with putting your top back on in a hurry, just because rain was in the forecast. This Smittybilt water resistant cab cover is a very easy fix for one of the most pain-in-the-ass problems us Jeep owners have to deal with. If you own a '07 to '17 4 Door JK, this is a portable way for you to keep your topless Jeep protected in those unexpected pop-up storms, as well as keeping your Jeep safe overnight from any unwanted critters trying to crawl up in the Jeep for a nap. Not to mention this is also good to throw on while your Jeep is sitting topless in the sun to guard your interior from fading from those harmful UV rays. I wanna point out that this is water-resistant and not completely waterproof. So in heavy rain and heavy downpours, it's not guaranteed that all the water is staying out, though there are plenty customer reviews that claim this holds up pretty well in those downpours. This cab cover is super easy to install, so I'm giving it a one outta three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and I'll touch on the install in just a moment.Like I mentioned, this is built of a water-resistant grey denim material. The fabric is specifically cut out to fit every curve of your 4 Door JK with the top off, and it's very durable and will have a long lifespan standing up to the elements like it was intended to do. It's lightweight and it's portable, making it great for any unexpected weather. So you can just throw this in the back of the Jeep and take it out whenever you need to use it. What I really like about this is that it has door flaps that come all the way down and attach to the sides of the Jeep, so if you have no doors or tube doors on the Jeep, you can stay protected from any unwanted water trying to get into the cab area. To secure the cab cover down, Smittybilt integrated heavy-duty nylon straps that are adjustable, as well as plastic tabs that tuck into the body belt rail of the Jeep, so you can ensure that this is not coming off when it gets a little windy. Now that's a good feature to have for fastening the cover down and keeping it on, but it's not gonna be compatible with any tonneau cover or duster that hook up in the same spot. There's also a version available for the two-door JK, so make sure you get the right one for your Wrangler. The price tag on this one is in the middle of the road at right around $115. That's a pretty fair price and actually it's one of the lowest price covers that we offer on our site right now, other than the Lite Weather Cab Cover by Rugged Ridge. Now, considering that this is water resistant and it's gonna hold up to more than just light weather, I think that this is a pretty good deal. The other higher priced options on our site that include the door flaps are gonna be more heavy-duty, but if you are looking for a budget-friendly product that's gonna do what you ask for it, I would say that this is worth it.Now, like I mentioned before, this install is gonna be very straightforward. But I still have to rate it, and it gets a one outta three wrenches on the difficulty meter from me. You're not gonna need any tools, just about 15 minutes' worth of your time. I would recommend before putting the cover on, make sure it's oriented in the correct way and then you can drape the trail cover over the Jeep. Then you can hook the elastic loops on the front of the cover to the windshield hinges. Next, you're gonna have two plastic strips on the back of the cover that will slide into the belt rail retainer on each side. Then you can secure the adjustable straps on the door flaps at the bottom, but make sure the fabric flap lays flat, and pull each strap for a snug fit. I'd like to note, if you do have a duster or a tonneau cover installed, use only the plastic strips on this to hold it in place, because the strips on this and the strips on the duster will not work in conjunction together. Lastly, you can take the two rear straps and secure the back of the cover down by hooking the straps to the bottom of the tailgate. There are more detailed instructions in the box with some tips and tricks about this cab cover. So if you were looking for some cab protection while you're top was at home, Smittybilt has you covered.
