Merideth: Hey, guys. So today, we're checking out the Smittybilt Gen2 Neoprene Front and Rear Seat Covers in Red and Black, fitting all 2018 and newer 4-door JL Wranglers. So if you're looking to protect your seats and keep them looking brand new while also giving a very sporty look to your interior, this set of seat covers is gonna be a great option. Now, these covers will protect your seats from any mud, dirt, dust, kids' spills, and whatever else that you don't want getting on your factory fabrics. Not only will this prevent spills, but this set will cover up any imperfections that may already be there. Now, these will also just be a very stylish seat cover upgrading the interior when it comes to the red and black fabric, and it's going to have some very sporty stitching. And you're even going to get an SMB, it's gonna be very subtle, but the Smittybilt branding does give more of a sporty look to the seat cover in comparison to something that's a little bit more simplistic. Now, these will also be very comfortable with a cooler and more breathable material while keeping a very tight fit, making them look incredibly sleek inside of your Jeep. Not to mention the neoprene material will wick water away better than other materials, and it's very easy to clean. So you can take these off, clean them, and throw them right back in whenever you need to. Now, what I really like about this option in comparison to some other choices is the fact that this is gonna come with a lot of storage for you, as well as your passengers. Now on the back of the front seat cover, as you can expect, you will get a little pocket down at the bottom here. It's gonna be a nice little mesh pocket, but not only are you getting that, but you're getting one on the back of the headrest for any smaller items that you would want inside of your Jeep or accessible to your passengers. And then on the front at the bottom part of the seat cover, you're getting a large or pretty large pocket here. Now that's great if you wanna maximize the storage inside of your Jeep, but you're not really looking for other storage solutions, this is a great bonus of the seat cover. Now, I would also like to mention that this will keep the side airbag safety features and will come with the rear covers that will work with the standard cup holder, as well as the armrest. Now, again, I only have one seat cover on the table here, but you are going to get a complete set with this. Now getting into the price, these will come in at right around the $200 mark. And I honestly think that that's a great price for what you're getting here. With this kit, you're getting a very form-fit design and an incredibly sporty look while having complete coverage to your seats. Now, other options in the category may not come with a full seat cover. They may just be kind of like a throw-on cover or may not cover the sides as well as this choice will. Now some other choices may also come in a different material that may not be this neoprene material here. It may be polycotton or nylon material. It may not be as comfortable or as form-fitting as you would like it to be as to where this neoprene is going to give you a very form-fit design. And on the inside here, you're gonna get some foam, which is gonna give you that comfortability aspect. Not to mention, some other choices will only just come with the front covers as to where this is gonna come with the front and rear that's compatible in multiple configurations. So this is very inclusive, and of course, you're getting a lot of styling with this kit.So in my opinion, if you're looking for something that gives you more of a custom look, you like that red and black look, especially if you have any other red accents inside of your Jeep, then this is gonna be a great option to choose. Now, as far as install is concerned, this is going to be pretty easy as you probably already know, but install is gonna be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter taking you roughly 30 minutes to get the job done with no hand tools at all. And one of our installers here is gonna show you how to do it. So that's gonna wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Man: Tools required for this install, the included velcro strips and adhesive promoter. What's up, guys? Today, we're gonna be installing a set of seat covers on our 2018 Wrangler JL. Let's get started. All right. So our first step is gonna be to mount this bottom cover. So let's get started. We're gonna slide this back part portion through this crack in the seat, and we'll have these buckles that'll come down, meet the buckles in the front underneath the seat, and we'll clip them together. All right. So now we can go from each side of the seat and clip those buckles underneath. All right. So now we're on the back side of the driver's seat. So we have the two clips coming from the front and two clips on the back. We're gonna go ahead and connect them and then tighten them down. All right. So now we're back on the front side of the driver's seat and we have these three little clips that we're gonna tuck up underneath the seat and clip them in.All right. So now that we have the bottom cover installed, we gotta go ahead and get the back done. So, first thing, we gotta pop off this headrest that has a little button right here and just pull up. And then now with the headrest removed, we can slide our seat cover over. All right. So now this front flap is gonna get tucked in just like the bottom. And then we have two clips on the back to secure this down. All right. So now we're back behind the driver's side seat. So we have these two little clips that we gotta hook in underneath the seat. All right. Now we're back on the front side of the driver's seat so we can go ahead and tuck these edges, get our headrest in, and then get our seat cover on top of it. And then we can repeat that same process on the passenger side front seat. All right. So now we're gonna move on to the back seats. It's gonna be the same idea as the front. We have these little buckles that'll go through the crack in the seat and connect underneath and a couple of clips on the side. All right. So now that we have those back buckles fished through the crack of the seat, we can take our buckles on the front, go underneath the seat, and connect them together. All right. Now we can get this seat cover knocked out. All right. So now we're gonna repeat that same process we've been doing on this last seat. We're gonna fish the buckles through the crack, fish them under the seat, clip them in. All right. And now we can clip our straps in. All right. Now we can get the back seat covers on and wrap this up.All right. And a little pro tip to fish those buckles through, you can pull this seat down, pull this cover back, and your buckles will come through right back here. Don't forget to clip these straps underneath the seats. I got one more back here. All right. And then we can move on to these back seats. So for users that wanna retain the factory pull-down feature, we include these velcro strips that are gonna go right down along the back here. For people that don't want to use it, we can use this cover and it'll cover it up. And to retain this factory pull-down feature, we're gonna be using these velcro strips. For demonstration purposes, we're not gonna be sticking them down, but they go right here on this plastic trim piece and same on the other side.So the first step of getting the seat back covers on is going to be pulling this piece down, removing the headrest, and sliding this piece over here. So we're gonna be fishing this front hook through this slot here. And then this bottom piece is gonna get tucked up underneath. And then this piece is gonna velcro in right here. And with that piece done, we can install our seat cover backs. All right. So the first step is we're gonna fish this side through the seat belts. So it unzips in the back, and then once we get it on, we're gonna zip it up again. And then this piece is gonna wrap around to the back. And then just like before, we're gonna go ahead and tuck the bottom parts into the crack of the seat. And now if you're retaining this pull-down feature, this is where your velcro straps are going to strap to. Gonna come right up in there like that, and the same thing on the other side. So now that we're done with that, we can move to the back and get everything nice and zipped up.All right. So now we're in the trunk behind the back seats. We need to zipper this together and then velcro these top straps down to this. All right. And then we can get back in the back seat and knock out this side. Also included in your bag will be these two smaller velcro strips. So for demonstration purposes, we're not gonna stick them down, but they'll go right here. And then these top strips will come down and meet those. So for this last seat cover, we're gonna go ahead and pull this seat forward to make it easier to slip over. And then just like the other ones, we're gonna tuck this right through the middle. And then we can go to the backside one last time to line everything up and velcro these straps down to the back of the seat. All right. So now we're back in the trunk of the car. So when you fold this seat down, this little panel is gonna pop out. So we just need to slip that back under, and then we can velcro these straps down up top.All right. So now we're gonna get our headrest covers on. So these just slide right over top like this, and we'll do the same thing on the other side. So then now we can install our headrest covers. The ones with the flat back are gonna be for the back seat. And the ones with the nets are gonna be for the front seats. You can just slide that right over and we'll do the same thing on the other side. And then for this middle headrest cover, it's gonna slide right over and it's gonna buckle on the back. Just like that. All right. So for a cleaner install, you can cover this up with this middle piece. You won't be able to run the headrest with it. So we'll have to remove that first. With that cover removed, the shorter strip of velcro will go to the top. Slide that in. And then these will button in on the sides as well. Just like that.So that'll go ahead and wrap up our review and install of the Smittybilt Gen2 Neoprene Black and Red Front and Rear Seat Covers. Thank you for watching, and remember for all things Jeep, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
