Hey, what's up, guys? Ryan here from ExtremeTerrain and today I'm here with the Smittybilt 1 inch by 30 foot Kinetic Recoil Recovery Rope, with a 30,000 pound rating. Currently this rope is coming in right around $135, which I think is pretty reasonable considering what you're getting. Smittybilt has made a great rope right here. It's really gonna aid you in recovery. It's very well built, and honestly, it's gonna be an amazing product that you can add to your collection of recovery gear. Now the name "kinetic recoil," basically what that means is this rope, when you go to pull someone out, it's going to stretch. It's gonna retain that kinetic energy, and it's gonna recoil. So what you're gonna do, you're gonna pull. It's gonna stretch out. It's gonna reach its limit and then it's gonna recoil. So as you are pulling and you're holding on, giving it throttle, it's going to yank the person out. It's gonna recoil, it's gonna pull them out and that's gonna give you the ability to get them out when they are stuck versus other recovery equipment.Talking about recovery here, we have tow straps, we have recovery straps, and the difference between a tow strap, a tow rope, and a recovery rope or strap is going to be the elasticity. And one of the cool things about a kinetic recoil rope is going to be that elasticity. So when you are towing something, when you're yanking someone out, you are putting a lot of tension on that. Now a very rigid strap, it's gonna be very hard on your vehicle. It's gonna be very hard on that strap, and they tend to break. And the difference between those, a tow strap or a tow rope, and a recovery strap or rope is going to be the ability for it to stretch. And what does is it allows you to get a head start so you're able to hook both the vehicles up, get a running start, get a nice pull, and get some momentum. That's gonna give you the ability to yank someone out of them being stuck, out of a sticky situation. Whereas if you were to do just a strict pull, of course you will probably wind up spinning your tires and you're really not gonna get them out. You're not gonna make any progress. Now this is made of nylon 66, and it's actually woven with 12 different strands. So it's gonna have that strength in the plastic fibers that it's made of. This rope is 1 inch thick and it's 30 feet long. This is a very heavy duty rope. It has reinforced ends that are very rigid and that 30 foot is gonna give you plenty of room to space your vehicle away and do that recovery. This rope is going to stretch up to 30% of that full length. And that added allowance of stretch of course is going to keep this recovery rope from breaking. Smittybilt actually took it one step further. They put a protective film over the whole entire rope, and that's going to provide resistance to corroding. The last thing you wanna do is have this thing just corrode and mildew up and then of course just weaken it as a whole.Overall this is a very nice design. It's a great rope to have as a recovery item. Now even though this rope is 30 foot, you can see that it bunches up pretty nicely. Smittybilt even gives you a bag to store it with you. That way you can throw it right in the back of the Jeep, take it with you when you want. Now these ropes do come in different sizes. They come in different thicknesses, lengths, pull ratings etc. So you can go on our website and choose whatever one you want. This one is perfectly fine at 1 inch thick, 30 foot long and 30,000 pounds. This really should be all that you need, but if you want that additional peace of mind, we do have a couple other options to choose from.So with that being said, that is going to wrap up my review. Make Recovery Safe and Effective. Every recovery scenario is different. The materials you’ll need to effectively complete recovery procedures depends on the situation. Sometimes, heavy duty recovery straps aren’t strong or flexible enough. You should have this Smittybilt 1 in. x 30 ft. Kinetic Recoil Recovery Rope - 30,000 lb. available in that case. This recovery rope offers the benefits of kinetic recoil, including a less jarring movement.
Smart and Strong Design. To offer both the strength needed for recovery and the flexibility needed for safety, this kinetic rope is smartly designed. It is made out of strong nylon 66. The rope is designed with 12 woven strands, however, that have sliced ends and plenty of elastic flexibility. A 30% elongation maximum ensures that flexibility but retains the 30,000lb weight capacity. This rope is also coated in ICO-THANE 10 film to protect it against corrosion.
Convenient Storage. Sized 1 inch in diameter and 30 feet long, this rope may sound like it takes up a lot of space. However, it comes with a convenient storage bag and folds up to be quite small. That way, it’s easy to keep on hand for when you need it.
Straightforward Use. This kinetic recoil recovery rope is designed for a universal fit and works in versatile scenarios.
Application. Use this Smittybilt 1 in. x 30 ft. Kinetic Recoil Recovery Rope - 30,000 lb. with any and all Jeep CJ and Wranglers.
