To be clear, these will fit the rear steel bumper of the 75th Anniversary Edition 2016 Wrangle JK? I bought the Mopar ones and the rears would not fit flush. Just want to ensure these are a perfect fit in the OEM steel 75th bumper? It a bumper like the Hardrock.

    • Thank you for your question! These are designed very similar to the Mopar splash guards, and they will not sit flush with the steel rear bumper.

how do these attach? Do wheels need to be removed? Are there clips or do they get bolted? If bolted, do holes need to be drilled?

    • The Rugged Ridge Splash Guard Kit will install using some factory bolt holes and require some drilling. You can reference the install guide here: https://lib.extremeterrain.com/guides/J101154-manu.pdf. It would be easiest to remove the wheels for install so you have the most room.

I already have the RedRock 4x4 3 in. Curved Round Side Steps. Will these guards still fit with them installed?

    • This Rugged Ridge Splash Guard Kit will work with most side steps, however with the myriad of combinations we have not confirm these guards with RedRock 4z4 3 inch side steps.

Will these fit without factory rear bumper? Thanks.

    • The Rugged Ridge Splash Guard Kit attach directly to the OEM Rear Bumper, so this would be needed unless you fabricate some form of custom bracket.

      Splash gards

Good fit and construction, however the washers are to small for the holes. I also wish that the screws and washers were stainless so they wouldn’t rust. But over all a good product.

      Splash guard recap

Would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for splash guards. They look great and are easy to install. Only thing I would recommend is get some different hardware ahead time to make install easier. Hardware for the rear guards wasn't bad just used some washers I had laying around with the provided screws. But for the front go get some different hardware. The hardware provided isn't the best and would be much easier and would be able to secure the guards much more securely with better hardware. Overall a great by well worth the money!

      No more splashing

They work. The fit could be better. Trying to hang them straight is difficult. The screw holes on the front mud flaps are not in the right place. There is a 1 inch edge at a ninety degree angle to the mud flap that will hold debris and snow which I think is a bad design.

      Good paint protection.

Helps cut down on the tire spray up the side of the vehicle, especially the winter sand, salt, and slush. They could use LARGER washers with the screws. The size they give you are only a hair bigger than the mounting holes of the mudflap. Easy enough to put on once you remove the tires. The rear flaps didn't line up quite as level as the front did.

      Great fit!

They really keep the snow slush and salt from flying up to the sides. Easy installation but would consider enlarging the hole to accommodate the rivet vice removing it for front flaps. Lastly, no issue going through a touchless car wash.

      Added protection from the road

The screw heads are too small. I went and purchased stainless screws and washer to avoid the rust. I also found that securing the inner fender was required to ensure they did not have as much play attached to the fender itself.

      Backs easy, front nightmare!

Back splash guards install 5 minutes each. Front another story with 17' JK 30 minutes each. Fit around fender flare is good, but the provided hardware (u-clips) are not the right depth to reach the factory holes in the slash guard. The first instruction is to use the splash guard as a template and drill out holes in the fender flare. If you do it that (and you have to) you now need longer depth u clips. Also, the provided screws and washers are small in diameter and need to be lined up perfectly so not to be pulled to thru the factory holes of the splash guard. Call the manufacturer OMIX-ADA and their engineers had no solutions to the problem, not even a clue as to getting longer depth u-clips to fix the problem. Don't look for any expert advise from them! They even said that the contour of the fender changed on the 16/17' JK, but all literature on Extreme Terrain says the fitment will work. Seems like I was talking to an 8th grader! Plus the inside three holes you need to put the entire u-clip in back of the fender flare for it to grab anything. You need to stick your hand inside the back plastic fender wall, hold the clip and at the same time feed a crew thru the front and attach. You would need 1-1/4 u-clips to avoid this madness. (don't think they make that length) Plus you need to remove the tires on the front and back in order to do a correct install. $5-10 for additional hardware at the auto parts store will be needed. Only gave it three stars for fit because of the front fit and funky hardware! Jeff

      Good product

I bought these for the winter to keep the salt off of my 14 jku they fit perfectly, work great and look good. You will have to drill some holes. will not work if you have different fender flares and rear bumper. I did not use the hardware they supplied with the flaps I used some plastic rivets that I can easily remove so in the summer I can easily remove the flaps incase I want to go off-road because the flaps do hang pretty low and and would probably get ripped off....I had these for about 2 months now and they are doing great

      nice product

well made product but the clips for the front guards don't fit. I used them on the back side instead of the way it said to due to them being to small. but over all they fit great after a little tweaking.
