    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com. This is my review and installation of the Rugged Ridge neoprene seat covers fitting all 2007 to 2017 JKs. This is a set of front seat covers, but these are also available for the rear of the Jeep. These are available in the black you see here as well as a few other colors. Because Jeep did change the interior of the Wrangler in 2011, there are a couple of different year ranges. So just make sure that you're careful and you pick the correct seat covers for your Jeep to get the best possible fit. Today, we're going to talk about the construction, the installation and of course the fit of these covers. Seat covers like this can do a couple of different things. If you have an older JK and your seats are beat up and worn out, covers like this will give your whole interior a new refreshed look at a far lower cost than recovering the seats themselves. If your seats are in really good condition and you want to keep them that way, you can go ahead and throw a set of these on there to protect your existing seats. Or, regardless of the condition of your seats, if you're just looking to give your interior more of a custom look, a set of seat covers is a great way to do that. These covers in particular from Rugged Ridge fit really well and they're fairly priced. As it says right in the name, these are neoprene seat covers. There's a lot of misinformation out there about neoprene that it is a waterproof material. It is not. It is a water resistant material. However, this is a wetsuit material, not a dry suit material, so this will become wet. If you leave the top off and your Jeep gets rained on, this will absorb some water. The nice thing about the neoprene material is that it is machine washable. If you do get a stain on these, you can pull them right off, throw them in the washer and get them cleaned up. Any material will eventually fade in the sun, especially reds and blacks, so I would recommend treating these with some sort of UV protectant spray before you install them in your Jeep if you're somebody who has the top off a lot or even if you run with the top on a lot. That'll definitely help to keep these bright and keep the color in them for a good long time. The nice thing about the way these covers are designed is, again, they are body style specific so they will fit in your specific year Jeep, which means they're going to fit tight, they're going to look factory and they're going to hold up really well. Getting seat covers like this installed is a little bit difficult. The inside of the cover does like to stick to the material on your seats, so you may have to fight them a little bit. But luckily, it's something you'll only have to do once or ever so often whenever you take the covers off to wash them. These do have built in straps and buckles to, again, make sure that they fit really tightly without any creases, so they look really good. But the fact that they do fit so tightly, again, makes them a little bit difficult to install. The first thing you're going to want to do is remove your headrest and slide the back section of the seat over the back. Then, you can slide the lower section that you actually sit on. Then, put the headrest back on the seat once all the straps and buckles are pulled tight. Now, you may have a couple of wrinkles in your seat covers when you first get them out of the box, but those will work out in no time at all. The whole installation should take you probably about an hour but it depends on how much you have to fight with these things to get them on. It may take you a little bit more. You won't need any tools to get this job done, just some patience. As I said before, I think these seat covers are fairly priced. You can certainly get some that are going to be less expensive, but in my opinion the build quality isn't there. They're not going to fit as tightly or look as nice when they're installed, and they're not going to hold up as well. A seat cover definitely takes some abuse, so you want something that's well built. I think these are priced really appropriately for what you get, and I think they're a high quality cover. So, whether you're looking to cover up a damaged seat in your JK, trying to protect a seat that's still in good condition, or you just want a custom interior look, a set of neoprene seat covers like this are going to look good and not break the bank. That's my review of the Rugged Ridge neoprene seat covers fitting all 2007 to 2017 JKs that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Key Features. Give your Jeep's interior a new look with these Neoprene Front Seat Covers. They're custom-fitted, so most people will think you had the seats reupholstered, which seriously elevates the look and feel of your rig. The neoprene material is the same stuff used to make wetsuits, so it's durable, soft and definitely compatible with the elements. When your Jeep sits out in the sun for hours at a time without the top on, the covers won't get super hot or fade easily. Installation is a cinch, and you can take off the covers to wash them as needed, which is especially handy after some messy trail runs.

Construction. These Front Seat Covers are made of Neoprene, the wetsuit material that's soft and a little stretchy. That also makes the covers durable, so they don't show really any wear for a long time. The material can handle all kinds of elements, plus it dries out quickly. You can even wash the covers in a machine on the gentel cycle. Elastic cords and nylon hooks are included, securing the covers to the underside of the seats.

Installation. Installing the seat covers is an easy job, but it takes some time to complete. Set aside about an hour to do both covers, which should be enough to get both on properly. Instructions are supplied, and absolutely no tools are needed. The process involves getting the covers situated on the seats the right way, then attaching the different hooks on the underside to the right anchor points on the seats and covers.

Application. These Neoprene Front Seat Covers are specifically made to fit 2011-2018 Jeep Wranglers JK models.

      Almost there

Seat covers are durable and will last for a long time. Install was fairly difficult. It took about 45 minutes from out of the box to final install on the driver’s seat. The passenger seat install went much quicker. The driver’s seat cover does have a section where the sewing has come undone. Will contact and ask for a new one.

These look great in my new JL! They fit like a glove. As with all neoprene covers, hair clings to them so if you are carting four legged friends, be sure to put a towel over the seat.

      Great seat covers

This seat covers are very tight but fit great once they are on. It took 2 people to put on and took about an hour or so. I got them to protect my leather seats from my dogs, dog hair stick to them but easily comes off.

      Great Quality, Fit a 2018 JL...kind of?

Similar to my review on the RR back seat covers, these fit but not great on a JL, I've had RR seat covers on my old 2008 JK...so I'm not new to seat covers. The bottom fit much better but cover up some of the seat controls on the driver side. There's also a large flap attached to the back of the seat that curls under the front seat on the JL...so there's no way to attach the two velcro ends to each other. Great product but wish they fit better, I'm sure on one will notice except me ; )

New Rugged Ridge Front Seat Covers

I love them! I’ve only had them a few weeks and have found them to be very comfortable! I’ve sat in them for about an hour and I didn’t get hot or sweaty! I was worried about that! I’m not sure how they would be ona serious road trip! Limited instructions but pretty easy to figure out! They fit very snug! Hardly any slipping, hence...installation takes some effort! I would recommend these!

      Durable Seat Covers

I liked the seat covers. They have a very thick neoprene material construction. They are definitely a high quality product. I have leather seats and wanted to protect them (front only for this item) when I take the top off the jeep. These resist water but I do not think they are completely water proof. I just wanted something to keep the dirt and sand off of the leather. After getting them installed they were comfortable and stayed in place while driving both on and off the highway. As far as the installation: I think the install would be much easier on cloth seats. The leather seats are much more firm and do not offer as much flexibility when you are trying to install the seat covers. The seat covers have a very tight fit which is great so they don't have wrinkles or move around. The tight fit did make the installation take longer. (worth it for good protection) One other thing is it was pretty much impossible to get the lower front flap of the top section with Velcro to fit in between the seat back and the seat bottom so I had to just fold it under. It is meant to go under the seat back and velcro to the bottom of the back section. This is not possible with the leather seats because they have a curtain like fit in the rear of the front seats that hangs down close to the floor board. This was minor for me due to wanting these seat covers only for temporary use each time. If someone wanted to install these permanently on leather seats I would maybe look into other options. Great product and got to me in 2 days!!

      Fits Like a Glove

These seat covers fit perfectly. While it takes some effort to get them on it is well worth it. You can't even tell they are seat covers. Tested them out in the mud Saturday and the cleaned up very well, I was able to wipe the mud off with a damp cloth. They are worth every penny!
