Review & Install Video
I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Rugged Ridge center console armrest pad, fitting all 2007 to 2017 JKs.
Now, there are a couple different versions of this armrest pad. There's one for the 2007 to 2010 JKs and one for the '11 plus. These are also available in both black, and black and grey, and they're available in the neoprene material that you see here, and also a vinyl material. Today, we're going to talk about the construction and how to get this installed.
This is going to be for those of you who want to change up the interior look of your Jeep. In my opinion, this neoprene version works really well with the Rugged Ridge neoprene seat covers, and the vinyl does a nice job of protecting and covering that center console if you don't have any other mods on the inside of your Jeep. But, whether you're using this as a standalone accent piece or as part of an interior package, I think it is a nice product.
It is going to provide a little bit of additional padding to that center armrest, so if you do keep your arm resting on there while you're driving, it will be a little bit more comfortable, but in my opinion, this is more of an aesthetic mod. It is going to be more about changing the look of the interior of your Jeep or matching your new seat covers than it is going to be about additional comfort. This is also going to be something you can take off and wash a lot easier than trying to clean the top of your center console if it does get dirty.
As I mentioned before, this is available in both neoprene and vinyl, and either option is going to have sewn-in elastic straps to make installation very easy. And, because this is designed specifically for a couple of year ranges of the JK, you know it's going to fit properly and not just going to be some universal fit that's going to be baggy.
This is such an easy product to install that Rugged Ridge doesn't even include installation instructions. All you need to do is take it out of the box, open up your center console, stretch it over, and you're done. The elastic holds everything into place. This is something that'll install in less than 15 minutes with no tools.
I think this armrest pad is appropriately priced for what you get. It is going to be more of an aesthetic mod, and in my opinion, I don't want to spend a ton of money on those modifications that are just aesthetic. I prefer to spend money on something that is going to be more functional. So, with these being right around that $50 or less range, I think it's fair. It does a nice job of finishing off the look of your interior, as well, especially if you already have the Rugged Ridge neoprene seat covers.
So, whether you're looking to add some additional padding to that center console, or you're looking to finish off the look of your interior after adding some neoprene seat covers, I think this is a really nice option.
So, that's my review of the Rugged Ridge center console armrest pad, fitting all 2007 to 2017 JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.
