Weak lock, gives in and makes it not work.

Can't recommend on a 2017, the lock gives slightly in once locked which results in a gap that allows you to open the hood regardless. Poor design.

      Junky Waste of Time

This did not work. There was too much give in the movement of the locking tab so that it would not secure the grill properly while also being in a position to allow for the key to be removed. I tried everything the instructions recommended- changing the placement of the mechanism and bending the tab. I wasted my time, and money (until I got a full refund from ET). Save your time, buy the BOLT lock.

      Good purchase for the price.

Simple locking mechanism to secure your hood down. I test fitted everything before really tightening the lock down. It fits well, stays securely in place and does the job as intended. Basic theft and vandalism deterent at its finest. Will update if anything changes.

      Wouldn't recommend

All I can review is the product I received. It didn't work. The product I received had too much play in the locking mechanism. It would lock the hood latch in place but if the hood was shaken the mechanism would ease off enough for the hood latch to be disengaged and he hood would open.

      No good

This thing didn't work straight out of the box, very flimsy and would be easy to break into even if it did work. I will be spending more money, like I should have in the beginning, to get one that works.

Hood Lock For Wrangler 07-16 JK

Initially it appeared to be a simple install for my 2013 Sahara JKU. Once mounted the hood release did not line up with the lock, therefore did not work as designed. I guess that was a good thing because had it did I would have been disappointed because once the grille was reinstalled there was no access to turn the key to lock or unlock the hood. This is probably made for the Rubicon or JK's with a hole in the grille for lock access.

      An alternative to deter thieves

Holes are already predrilled, so there are no holes to drill in my 2013 Unlimited. Some adjustment is a must.

      Great Lock for the Price

This lock is very straight forward. It's extremely easy to install and works as expected. The lock holds the hood down a bit further than before, making it harder to move the latch over, but it's not a deal breaker. We'll see how it holds up to the weather and road grime over the years.

      Works well!

Easy to install, just had to find the correct angle for tightening. Locks nicely, good for the price and keeps under the hood safe.

      Poor fit

I finally got around to installing this hood lock. Hopefully, it will be adequate to discourage the casual thief. But, if your 2012 JK is anything like mine, be prepared to do some drilling and bending to get this thing to work.

Great way to keep your engine and battery secure.

A good, inexpensive way to keep the neighborhood thieves out of your engine compartment. Keep your battery where you need it, IN YOUR JEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!
