      Review & Installation Video

Hey. What's up, guys? I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain, and today I'm here with the Rugged Ridge Reflex 9-Inch Stubby Antenna, fitting your 1997 to 2018 Wranglers. This is gonna be for the Jeep owner looking for a trail-friendly antenna that is much shorter and more durable than the stock one. This is perfect for the avid off-roader looking for some added peace of mind when hitting those trails, and is tired of bent and broken antennas. This antenna will give your Jeep a more stylish and modern appearance and it's much shorter than the stock, so it's not really gonna get caught on much on those trails. Installation is super simple, since this installs in your stock base. And it even comes with adapters, making for a quick and easy swap. This is one of the few options to choose from on this site. At just around $20, I think this is a great buy. And it even comes with a great five-year warranty. As far as install goes, I'm gonna give this one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, since you can install this in about 10 minutes using basic hand tools. Now, with that being said, let's hop into the install. This is a relatively easy install, since we just have to unscrew the stock antenna. We're gonna use a 3/8 wrench to do so. So, we got our stock antenna uninstalled, which was super easy. And before we get this little guy installed, I just wanna go over some of the benefit features and how it compares to the stock antenna. Now, the stock antenna is quite long, at almost 3 feet. This little antenna is only 9 inches long. So, if you're an avid off-roader and you like to go down those thick, tough trails that are heavily wooded, you know that your antenna can get caught on many, many things. Once it gets caught, it either bends, breaks, or goes whipping around, causing damage to your Jeep. This little antenna is way more durable and flexible than your stock antenna. Like I said, it's only 9 inches tall, so it's much shorter than your stock one, and it's not really gonna get caught on much. If it does get caught on anything, it's just going to bend, flick back into place, and stay there. Now, this antenna is much shorter than your stock antenna, so you may have a little less reception, maybe not get some of those channels that were already half coming in. However, it's still gonna work pretty good for you, and allow you to listen to the radio. Now, this antenna is black over your stock chrome antenna, which is really nice, because it's gonna add that aggressive off-roading styling. And especially for those of you who aren't a huge fan of your stock chrome antenna, this is a great little upgrade. So, with that being said, let's show you how this gets installed and how it looks on our Jeep. So, when installing this antenna, you're gonna have two adapters. You wanna choose the right adapter for your Jeep. We're gonna install the adapter in our antenna first, and then we'll screw our antenna into our stock base. Once you get that installed, we're gonna go ahead and just thread that in. So, that's gonna wrap up my review and install. For more videos like this, check us out at extremeterrain.com.

      Description

OE-Quality Antenna. Your Jeep’s antenna could be even more important when you’re out on the trail. But it could get damaged when it gets hit by tree limbs and other objects. For such adventures, choose the Rugged Ridge 9-Inch Reflex Stubby Antenna. With its short, 9-inch height, it’s designed for even the most extreme off-road adventures. It’s built with the same quality and reliability as your off-roader’s factory antenna.

Extremely Durable and Bendable. Most factory antennas are rigid and tall, extending up more than 20 inches. That makes them inconvenient, especially when driving on the trail. Not with the Rugged Ridge 9-inch Stubby Antenna. With its low, 9-inch height, it’s designed to avoid hitting tree branches and other hazards on the trail. It’s also so flexible that when it does hit something, it snaps back into its original form without damage after clearing the object.

Installs Easily. This stubby and flexible antenna directly replaces your Jeep’s OE antenna with no welding or drilling required. It includes a threaded adapter for an installation that only takes a few seconds.

Application. The Rugged Ridge 9-Inch Reflex Stubby Antenna is designed for use on all 1997-2020 Jeep Wrangler TJ, JK and JL Models.
