      poor quality

With any bumps in the road (and I'm talking PAVED road!), the phone shakes out of the bracket. Also, the lower rubber bracket broke after 15-20 uses. XT stood behind it, but it's not a high-quality item. TIP: The small rubber bumper on the bottom pulls out, and there are machine threads in the plastic where it was attached. You can modify something to attach at that point (I used a small angle bracket, which I bent to the shape I needed), and it will work much better than the original. With the modification, a very useful item!

      Good idea, but not sturdy

After a week of use, the tip of the arms have broken. It's still usable. But for how long I wonder. If you're buying for a larger phone, look around. I have an iPhone 7 and would look for a different solution if I knew how soon it would break.

      Good replacement

I purchased the mount to replace my old Rugged Ridge mount. It was a nice alternative to paying for the full dash mount system.

      Phone Squeezer

This piece squeezes my iphone 7 pretty well. I can flip it to horizontal or vertical and it stays just fine.

      Pretty good phone holder

Holds phone well on road...not so well off road...depends on phone size.

      Not any good

I bought this item and the 1st one broke the 3rd time I used it. Got a replacement and the 2nd broke within a few hours in the same place. The grips need to be heavier duty or the spring is to strong because the bottom grip broke on them both.

      Phone holder

Love it works out perfect but I didn't know that you needed to buy another piece for it or I would have bought them together so I ended up having to buy them separate

      Just as flimsy

Just as flimsy as the part it replaced. But it looks good and functions fine. I hope it lasts longer.

      Replacement part availability

It's nice to be able to get replacement parts for items purchased instead of having to repurchase the entire item which will obviously cost a lot more. Most other places don't give that option.

      Needs improvement

The stems are not long enough to hold my phone in place, otherwise I would give it 5*.

      Fell apart right away

This bracket doesn’t hold a phone properly. My phone kept slipping out while I was driving. Then it just broke.

      Just OK

It’s just ok. The rubber tips that hold the phone in place dry rot and break forcing you to pay for an additional replacement.

      Not on rough roads

As long as you are not on wash board roads it is great. Needs a bottom brace so it won't shack off.

I purchased the phone mount and the base unit came as one product. Works like a charm no problems.

Looks nice, but phone falls out constantly

It looks nice, but the rubber arms bend/flex out and after a few uses my Galaxy S6 (and wifes Iphone) would pop out of it and go flying after driving over the smallest of potholes. We tried it both with and without cases. Really wish it it would have worked better. Bought a replacement phone mount at the dollar store which worked much better.

      Rubber tips break

I have purchased the whole assembly, with the bracket that connects to the dash. And while driving on the streets and highway, yes it worked. Once it hits the trails it shakes loose often. The it got to the point that the rubber tips broke. It is nice to see that they sell just the head unit by itself. Probably due to how it does not hold up to trail riding in south California...I have since thrown it away and have gone to a different system.

      Good but

I like this system for my Jeep but the little wings that hold the phone break almost immediately. This is my second piece and just with regular use the rubbery plastic breaks. Still works but it’s annoying. I give a higher score if this was fixed...

      B-

It’s a great addition and it really looks like a factory addition. Only downside to it is this piece tends to have to be replaced every six months or so if you have a phone that extends it to its limits.
