      Review & Installation Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount System and Phone Kit fitting all 2011 to 2016 JK's. There's also a version of this available for the 2007 to 2010 Wranglers and you can get it with or without the phone kit. I like this kit because it allows you to retain the use of your dashboard storage area but adds the function of a phone holder that holds your phone really securely and puts it close to your line of vision. This is a really nice spot for your phone to be if you're using it for navigation while driving. The whole kit is made out of a high-quality plastic and the phone holder itself is mounted on a swivel ball so you can tilt it to fit your needs. The holder is spring-loaded so you can put any size phone in any orientation in there and it'll be sure to hold it nice and tight without falling out.Installing this holder into your Jeep is a really simple process. All you need to do is clip it over the factory trim on the dashboard, install the insert tray and screw on the universal ball mount. From there you can add your phone holder or whatever other accessory holder you decide to use. Installation shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes and you won't need any tools at all. If you've been shopping around for a way to mount your phone where it's visible, you'll know that mounting systems can be really expensive and for something that is vehicle specific, looks factory and holds your phone really securely, I think this one's priced really fairly. So if you're like me and you use your phone as your navigation system in your Jeep and you're looking for a way to mount it that isn't too far out of your line of sight, I think this is a really nice option that looks factory and is fairly priced. So that's my review of the Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount System and Phone Kit fitting all 2011 to 2016 JK's that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

        Its ok

It's a good concept. it puts your phone right in view, but it shakes while your driving and the rubber arms that holds the phone in place broke off a couple weeks after installing it the phone still stays in place but pops out every once and a while

        already torn

Just ordered a replacement to the actual phone mount that is spring loaded. The rubber component on the sides that hold phone have already torn in less than 2 weeks.

        5 2015 Wrangler - Marge

        Great accessory!! Works great.

This is a great, hands free phone holder. It fits perfectly in the dash tray. Easy to install, all you need is a screw driver to remove the old one and put this one in.

        1 2014 Rubicon - Stassia

        Shakes a lot

I bought this for my husband and the mount is flimsy and shakes constantly while driving. He can’t use it at all. The phone shakes so much you can’t see the map. Would highly recommend something sturdier.

        5 2017 Wrangler - Great

        It holds a phone

Great product -- cant hold the large phones that are like small iPads but if you are of the general population that does not need an IMAX screen as a phone -- you'll enjoy it.

        Phone Kit Fit

My phone is on the larger size 3.5 x 7, I had two concerns when I mounted the kit. First my phone wasn't going to fit in the device. It is probably at the top of the width range but I can get it secured without hitting the dash. Second it was going to block my view. I found that mounting it horizontal works the best for me. Over all I'm very happy with the multi mount, sure beats dedicating one of the cup holders for the phone.

        3 2013 Rubicon - Jimsoffroad

        Worked great at first

It used to hold my phone rather nice, but then I went off road and it went flying right out, and one of the rubber holders is broken so now it barely hold my phone on paved roads

Does this item fit the 2016 Sahara model? My factory tray has two compartments in it and I do not see that the tray on this kit has the two compartments.

Would this mount easily accept a Go Pro Camera? I saw a picture from a customer with a GoPro but not sure if I have to buy an adapter for it. Thank you

      • For your GoPro, you should have a mount with it, that has a small screw on one end, and that screw will go right on the top portion of the Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount System and Phone Kit that has the open thread. You may need to trouble shoot to get the right threading for the mount system. Or if you have a mount for your GoPro that accepts a 17mm ball socket, then it can be used in place of the phone mount.

I received this as a Christmas gift and went to install it but the bolt is missing on my dash under the tray. What is the replacement part for this bolt?

      • That is a standard 7mm head screw, you can use any standard screw that would fit in the opening about 1.25" long.

I just purchased this product and received it today. When I open the box it came with tray and tripod with ball mount. It seems to be missing the most important this which is a way to attach my device to the mount. It has that piece in the photos so I expected this to be included. Am I mistaken? 0 answer

It works great when the road is perfectly smooth, but any decent sized bump knocks my phone out of the holder. And off road was really bad! This is probably because my case is rounded (Mophie) but i am looking for solutions. I have a Rhino that had a retaining band... does this have something like that? i see the small anchor type clip under the mount and was thinking at least adding a rubber band to secure it as well. 1 answer
