WIll this phone mount fit an iPhone 6 Plus with and Otterbox Defender case? The measurement of width, case and all, is approx. 3 1/2".

    • This can accommodate a phone with a width up to 3.25" so you would not be able to have this with your phone.

Will this hold a Galaxy S8 Plus in an Otterbox?

    • this can accommodate a phone with a width up to 3.25". According to the Samsung S8+ dimensions, the phone is about 73.4 mm converting to aproximatley 2.9" in width. This mount would fit the phone, however, there are a few variations on the specific Otterbox in use. I would advise measuring the width of the phone with the case in use to be certain.

      Not bad, but...

... in order to fit perfectly, i had to remove the clips from the factory mount and apply them to the this mount. Other than that, it's a good addition.

      Doesn't fit

Pretty much the same as the other reviews. Doesn't fit into the snaps like the video shows. Extremely unsatisfied.

Not plug and play as marketed.

This product was much more difficult to install than expected. The clips would not fit properly into the existing openings. It took me about and 30-40 minutes to get the clips right so the unit would fit correctly.

      Not fully satisfied

For my 2010 JK Unlimited the mounting clips that hold the system in place did not latch or stay in place properly. Like the video shows you to whack them down put it just would not stay in place. It would bounce back out just sitting in the driveway. Other than that the product is fine. I modified with a screw to secure the system.

      Didn't fit

I really like the product overall it's a great way to have a storage container on your dashboard as well as a phone mount for GPS however when I installed it it does not clip-in in the back because the clips are actually shorter than the stock ones and of course my stock Clips broke when I took them out so it's it's a little higher than it is supposed to and does not lock down in the back

      not worth the money

I took off the old one, no problem. Went to install the new one in and it wouldn't snap in. Had to remove the clips off the old one and install on the new one. It snapped in but it is loose. I will have to get better clips.

      Could be better

Really same review as most everyone else.. I had to change to the OEM clips to keep it in place.. Still kinda loose.. Haven’t drove with it yet, but just looking at the phone mount I am going to try to find a replacement that will fit on the ball.. I have an iPhone 8 Plus, it’s gonna wear this mount out quick.. Other than those issues it’s a nice design, I feel those are minor details..

The Critical Part Is Totally Unsatisfactory!!!

This phone mount while conceptually very appealing is rated ONE STAR. The most critical part is the ball mount GRIP. It probably was designed with a slim Iphone WITHOUT ITS CASE in mind. Any rough road or medium sized bumps caused my iPhone 8 WITH PROTECTIVE CASE to jump out of the mount and fall somewhere to the floor requiring me to stop and get out of my Jeep to find it. Twice my EMERGENCY SOS went off and scared the heck out of me and my passenger. However., the CONCEPT of this product is excellent and it does fit and look like it belongs there on my 2017 Sport. So I just swapped out the GRIP part with one of my old windshield mounts and it works great!!! Except for an annoying vibration of the phone screen it hasn’t fallen out now over multiple road conditions. One star to 5 star!!!!!?

      Adaptation

Had to use clips from oem .The new ones did not allow the unit to be solid hence there was a springy effect

      Dash Mount

I looked everywhere for something like this and this looks great! We did have some trouble installing it as the clips didn't work as they should have. I ended up using the clips from my original dash to secure this. Overall, a great product other than the clips.

      Loose fit

The new dash arrived quickly. I removed the factory dash and installed the new RRD and it didn’t snap in securely. I had to remove the old metal clip from the factory dash in order to have it somewhat stay in place. I’m not impressed with this product. With shipping it cost $50 and that would be worth it if the thing fit like the factory dash.

      It never fit

I was really excited to get my dash insert but the first one sent didn’t fit our 2010 JK. I though it was just a defective one and exchanged it for a new one but the second one confirmed that it didn’t fit! Frustrating! I will say that Extreme Terrains customer service couldn’t have been more professional and accommodating though! Great company wrong product. The search goes on.

Great interior addition to any Jeep

Great product = however for my 2007 Jeep Wrangler Sahara I had to modify. I had to use the original clips to make it stay clipped down. Also, I stuck some foam inside to reduce vibration / take out a little bit of play.

      Doesn't do the job

How do I like the Rugged Ridge dash mount you ask? Well I'd have to give it a 1 star. I'm pretty disappointed in the product.  #1 The instructions are for the newer jeeps not my 2008. The part number on the box didn't match the ones on the instructions so I knew I had ordered the right one. It just came with the wrong instructions. #2 It won't lock into place at all with out motifying it. After pounding on it and wondering want in the world I was doing wrong. I called customer support. Oh, there is none. They have 2 different numbers and no one would answer or call back(even after 2 weeks) of leaving voice mail and sending a email.  #3 After fixing the locking tabs so it would stay in place I loved the look and extra storage to throw stuff. #4 I mounted my Garmin GPS and found the mount weak beyond belief. The mount vibrates so bad the GPS falls down. Very annoying. If it's this bad on the streets I'm going to hate it this summer in Utah. The mount that came with the GPS never once moved I'm not sure how much testing even went into this product.  #5 Of all the things I've bought from you guys this is my first review. Worst product. But I'm still trying to make it work.

      Great Product!

This was a gift for my husbands 2010 Jeep Wrangler and he loves it. We had our mechanic friend install it and he said it was simple. I was concerned after reading the many reviews about the clips not snapping in properly, but we did not experience this issue. The tray, as well as the iphone and it’s case sits inside the brackets very securely. It seems to be a well made product and it also looks great. I recommend it!
