WIll this phone mount fit an iPhone 6 Plus with and Otterbox Defender case? The measurement of width, case and all, is approx. 3 1/2".

        • This can accommodate a phone with a width up to 3.25" so you would not be able to have this with your phone.

Can you use this dash mount without the phone holder?

        • The Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount Storage System & Phone Kit can be used with or without the phone holder. However, the phone holder "arm" will stay attached to the base.

Will this fit on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler 2door

        • This kit is designed for the 2007-2010 Wrangler models only. Unfortunately it has not been confirmed to fit the 2005 Wrangler.

Will this hold a Galaxy S8 Plus in an Otterbox?

        • this can accommodate a phone with a width up to 3.25". According to the Samsung S8+ dimensions, the phone is about 73.4 mm converting to aproximatley 2.9" in width. This mount would fit the phone, however, there are a few variations on the specific Otterbox in use. I would advise measuring the width of the phone with the case in use to be certain.

            Disappointed

The multi mount dash mount wasn't a good fit. I had to get longer clips just to get it to snap in. The phone holder is not really made for larger phones. They won't stay clipped in going down the road, definitely not for off roading!!! May work good with a much smaller phone. Mine is a Samsung s8 .

            Good product

Fit as it should, had to take the little metal clips off and put in the holes before I could install it. But fit good and holds my phone extremely well

            Perfect!

This worked perfectly for my needs. I never liked putting my phone in a cup holder and my radio needed to be replaced anyway. I saved a lot of money on the radio by not getting navigation and using this to hold my phone for navigation instead. This was easy to install although I did have to use the clips from the original part to make it fit. Definitely happy with the purchase!!

            So far so good...

Great improvement over the wasted space prior! Husband looking forward to setting up gopro on it. Holds phone well, only complaint is it's a bit shaky when driving regular roads. Like that there is room to just lay phone in the tray too. So helpful since our 09 lacks in places to stash a phone!

            Great Idea, product is fair

Ok getting some useable space on top of the dash is a great thing. This product does do that. HOWEVER, I found it lacking in a couple places. First, fitment. Not the best. For me, it seemed a little small. Gaps on the side, and with the clips included, it would not stay down. Next, I wanted to use a tablet instead of a phone, so the holder itself was useless. PRO TIP: Use the factory clips. The ones included are junk soft metal. Factory clips are spring steel. Next, go to Wizegear and get the 17mm Magnet mount and make your mount 10X more useful, but doing the magnet mount instead of those 2-handed, awful to use, clip mounts. With those little tweaks, I'm much happier with it now.

Does not fit ALL supposed Jeep models

I purchased the item because I needed a solid docking station for my I phone 7s plus with Otter Box cover. Before I even tried to install the multi mount storage system, it wouldn’t expand enough for my phone (which is an easy fix- change phone cover). Then I went to add the item ordered and it didn’t work. The clips on item are larger than the clips on original . I hope this helps. I sure wish it worked for me because it was a very cool item.

            Dash mount

I not sure why but it was not a "plug n play" kit. Still can't get it to stay clipped in.

            Looks good BUT!!

I bought this trim piece for my 09 JK and it looks great but the installation is terrible when it comes to the clipping hardware it comes with. The clips that come with it just pop out when you try to push them in. Don’t waste your time. Swap them out with the stock trim piece clips these are the only thing that kept it seated properly. If you don’t want to go through that hassle save your money or go with a different trim piece. Again very nice and great idea but trash when it comes to the clips that are on it major design flaw.

            Not the right fit

My review is totally based on the fact that the item did not fit in my 2010 JK Wrangler 2D. The unit didn't secure in place at all so it wasn't any use to me though it did seem like it would have been a great solution for a phone mount and additional storage options.

            Did not fit 2010 JKU

The back latches would not solidly latch into the dash mount, not sure if the kit was faulty or not but still awaiting for a replacement or refund for just about a week.

            Multi-Mount

On initial install, lost the screws down the dash.. Had to replace them then realized that is was not snapping into place. Had to undo everything put old one back on until I had to have someone else look at it. He took the little mounts off the first one and put on the new one, still pops up sometimes.

Dash multi mount with cell phone accessory

The installation seemed easy enough but to make it successfully “tap into place” (as seen in their installation video) I had to carefully repurpose the clips from the original dash cover to the new dash unit. Only then did it “tap into place”. Plus, you need to be careful when screwing your compass (underneath the cover) into place on the new dash unit as you could easily over-screw the screws in too far and it will protrude onto the surface of the new unit. The cellphone accessory is clumsy and if you take on a big bump, you’re likely to see your cellphone fly out of its grasp. It needs better clasps. I don’t want to take my cellphone out of its case either and then just see it come free on a trail ride. That would be an epic fail. As of now, it’s good for urban use. I’ll secure my cellphone on trails better than this device can.

            works well butttttttt,

It is a good item and is much better than the stock unit. My only probblem the drivers side clip was broke, still made it work? may ask to see if they will send me a new clip? Changed out quickly, pry up on the back of the old unit, pops right off. Take two screws out that hold the compass in place ( easy to get to ) snap back into place. Holds my iPHONE XS Max and spare coins, for the price id say get it I'm glad i did. ( 4 stars due to the clip. )

            Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount

This is a really great product. The only critique I have is that the fitment wasn't the best. For it to fit properly, you have to remove the OEM clips from the dash, remove the ones provided, and they should fit nicely. The phone mount come in handy while driving since there's not really anywhere to place your phone in a jeep. Hope this helps.

I like how it looks and the extra storage is a big plus... the only down side is that the clips that came with the kit didnt fit and hold tight so I had to use the old clips from the old bezel...other then that totally happy.
