Will this hold a Galaxy S8 Plus in an Otterbox?

    • this can accommodate a phone with a width up to 3.25". According to the Samsung S8+ dimensions, the phone is about 73.4 mm converting to aproximatley 2.9" in width. This mount would fit the phone, however, there are a few variations on the specific Otterbox in use. I would advise measuring the width of the phone with the case in use to be certain.

Good design but will not clamp down. We'll try something to make it work.

junk, phone claw broke in 4-5 uses

It falls off, easily pops up if you put your hand on it. Im gentle with interior plastics and the claw that holds the phone on just cracked right off. I will probably put the OEM back, only thing I like is the tray

      Does Not Install Correctly.

I liked the functionality of the unit and tested with my phone prior to installation.. Unfortunately as others have commented... Daring the installation, the rear clips would not secure the multi-mount into place. After several failed attempts to secure the rear clips into place as shipped by Rugged Ridge, I adjusted the clips down as others mentioned resolved their issue in lieu of just returning the unit. However the unit would still pop loose with little or no pressure. . I kept adjusting the clips to try and get them to secure until I broke the clips. I aborted the installation and reinstalled the factory assembly. There is not much to the installation. The issue appears to be the depth of the clips or possibly the clips. Because many people have provided good reviews there may also be some inconsistencies with manufacturing. If you give it a try I hope yours works. Happy Trails.

      Didn't fit properly

The overall design is good but the mounting tabs would not stay secured to the original mounting slots. Lots of trial and error. Would also have expected a magnetic mounting point for phone vice the clamp style. Unfortunately will be returning to original equipment.

      Waste of money

The clips will not stay in the slots so every single time I try to put my phone in the holder, the whole back half pops up. Same thing removing the phone. It just won’t stay in place. I’ve tried bending and repositioning the clips repeatedly, but nothing helps. Complete waste of money!!

      Not to happy

Not fond of this purchase. The rubber tabs on the side are tearing on the inside. Wouldn't have made this purchase had I known they would tear. Also you have to put your phone while it's in the holder a certain way otherwise it'll just pop right out when going over a bump. I've had my phone pop out and flip around my dashboard while driving.

      Nice phone holder

This dash storage system seems well made. It is sturdy plastic and matches the Jeep nicely. The phone holder works really well so far. I had trouble getting it to snap into place like the video. I had to tweak the tabs that hold it into place some. Then hit it rather firmly to get it to stay down. Kinda pricey for what it is. But nice extra space.

Nice addition but needed a little trimimg

Very aesthetically pleasing and functional. I got it for my JK because driving a standard and trying to look at your phone for directions at the same time can be a bit of a hassle. It does its job just fine and is quality made. The only problem I had with it was that it needed a little trimming. The prongs that clip into the factory slots didn't extend downward far enough to fully latch into place. That was pretty annoying but after a little sanding it fit just great. Honestly looks like it could have come stock from the factory. Great interior mod.

Looks good, included clips don’t work

I had to carefully remove the factory clips from the factory top piece and switch them to the rugged ridge dash mount. Once I did that it snapped in perfect. Other than that it looks and works great!

      Great product.

As with just about everything involving these vehicles, it is a little pricey, but a vast improvement over the bare slick dash from factory. The phone holder is mounted fairly high, and with todays giant phones I personally think it creates a blind spot. Had a slight issue getting the clips to latch into the slot, but I removed the metal clips, and put them into the slots, and then pressed the tabs into the clips, works great now.

      Almost perfect.

It’s great, but the clips don’t fit. I had to carefully remove the clips off the OEM peice and switch them with the clips on the new Dash Mount. Other than that it fits perfect and looks great. I used the phone holder as a dash cam. It’s held on the trails for 6 hours. Great upgrade, super easy, worth every penny.

      Didn't work out for me.

Nice looking, held my cell phone securely. However, even tho this piece fit my jeep, it did not snap into place, Mounting clips did not match the clips on my original part. Sad thing is, they refunded my money, but not the $10 shipping. Left a bit of a sour taste.
