Will this hold a Galaxy S8 Plus in an Otterbox?

    • this can accommodate a phone with a width up to 3.25". According to the Samsung S8+ dimensions, the phone is about 73.4 mm converting to aproximatley 2.9" in width. This mount would fit the phone, however, there are a few variations on the specific Otterbox in use. I would advise measuring the width of the phone with the case in use to be certain.

      Multi-Mount

On initial install, lost the screws down the dash.. Had to replace them then realized that is was not snapping into place. Had to undo everything put old one back on until I had to have someone else look at it. He took the little mounts off the first one and put on the new one, still pops up sometimes.

Dash multi mount with cell phone accessory

The installation seemed easy enough but to make it successfully “tap into place” (as seen in their installation video) I had to carefully repurpose the clips from the original dash cover to the new dash unit. Only then did it “tap into place”. Plus, you need to be careful when screwing your compass (underneath the cover) into place on the new dash unit as you could easily over-screw the screws in too far and it will protrude onto the surface of the new unit. The cellphone accessory is clumsy and if you take on a big bump, you’re likely to see your cellphone fly out of its grasp. It needs better clasps. I don’t want to take my cellphone out of its case either and then just see it come free on a trail ride. That would be an epic fail. As of now, it’s good for urban use. I’ll secure my cellphone on trails better than this device can.

      works well butttttttt,

It is a good item and is much better than the stock unit. My only probblem the drivers side clip was broke, still made it work? may ask to see if they will send me a new clip? Changed out quickly, pry up on the back of the old unit, pops right off. Take two screws out that hold the compass in place ( easy to get to ) snap back into place. Holds my iPHONE XS Max and spare coins, for the price id say get it I'm glad i did. ( 4 stars due to the clip. )

      Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount

This is a really great product. The only critique I have is that the fitment wasn't the best. For it to fit properly, you have to remove the OEM clips from the dash, remove the ones provided, and they should fit nicely. The phone mount come in handy while driving since there's not really anywhere to place your phone in a jeep. Hope this helps.

Rugged Ridge dash multi-mount storage system

I like how it looks and the extra storage is a big plus... the only down side is that the clips that came with the kit didnt fit and hold tight so I had to use the old clips from the old bezel...other then that totally happy.

      Easy install

After reading the reviews and complaints about how the clips were to big on the new mulit-mount storage system, I just popped of the old clips and used them. It just snapped into place and looks and works great.

      Some assembly required

Had to use the rear clips off the OEM dash panel. to get it to seat properly. The clips provided on the new dash panel would not allow it to snap into place. After very carefully removing the OEM clips. And carefully removing the clips provided on the new mount., (the tabs are pretty flimsy). and fitting the OEM tabs on the the new mount. The Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount looks sharp and the phone kit functions well

Small things but good in the end

The clips that come on are not seated correctly, the easiest solution is to pull them off and replace with stock or if you’re like me and one of the stock clips were missing, you can carefully remove the new clips and put them into place without the dash piece, then place your piece on and it will seat perfectly

      Didn't fit

Out of the box, the panel clips didn't engage and hold the RR panel in place. Holding the OEM and Rugged Ridge side by side I could observe the dimensional difference. I had to shim the panel clips away the underside of the RR panel to get them to properly engage with the dash and hold it in place. There's one critical dimension on this product and they missed it by like 0.25". It works now but I am hesitant to buy more RR products if they can't nail something this simple.

      Almost great

Bought for my 2008 Jk. Looks good, phone holder works great. Holds my s7 edge with no problems with size or weight, but the whole assembly does not clip into the dash like the stock piece does. The metal clips that come with it are junk and just bend and don't hold anything. If you remove the stock metal clips and use them it holds better.

      Dash Mount Storage

Works great except for the clips. They will not hold, period. You have to remove them and replace them with the stock clips off original part for it to clip into place. The whole thing will fly off with a phone mounted to it. I watched it happen to mine.

      Good product!

My only issue with it was the clips that came with it to lock it into place, just like most other reviews. I took the clips off the stock one and it fit perfect! No other complaints

      T'is a good buy

It didn't exactly fit in flush over the factory holes on my 2010 JK since whatever clips that holds it down was bigger than the factory so I had to hammer it in now it sits nice and snug and my phone sits just perfectly with the phone holder.
