Hi, guys. So, today we're checking out the RedRock 4 by 4 Open Mesh Grille, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So, one of the easiest and most affordable ways to drastically switch up the look of the front end of your JK is to swap out your grille. And this option by RedRock is gonna do just that, while also adding some functionality in the meantime. Now, as you can see, this is going to add a more aggressive and dynamic look to the front end of the Jeep, especially with this aggressive brow up top, giving you more of the angry eye look, if you are searching for a grille that will allow that. And this is also going to switch it up from the factory seven slots by adding a large open mesh screen down at the bottom. What I really like about that is not only that it's going to switch up the styling but it is going to be very functional. So, if you do live in a hotter climate or you're in your Jeep a lot, you're either driving a lot in your Jeep or you're taking it off-road a lot, this will act as a better way to get a lot more airflow into your AC condenser as well as your radiator, making sure that your Jeep is running a little bit cooler, making sure that it's running a little bit more efficiently.I do also like the fact that this grille is pretty customizable. So, you can take out that inner grille, you can paint it to whatever color scheme that you have going on, you can customize that and the grille itself will be paintable. So, if you want to color match that to your factory color code, you can go ahead and do that or you can leave at this nice matte black finish. Now, with that being said, this is going to be pretty affordable coming in at roughly $150. Now, in my personal opinion, I do like the fact that this grille is going to keep it pretty simplistic with the styling. Some other choices have a little bit more going on with this styling. So, if you are looking for something that keeps it more on the simple side, then this is definitely gonna be right up your alley. Now, as far as install is concerned, I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. This is gonna come with everything that you need in order to install it, all of the replacement hardware that you need to get this thing on your Jeep. So, it's not gonna you any longer than an hour to get the job done with some very basic hand tools. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that now. The tools that I used for my install were a dead blow, a clip removal tool, and a flathead screwdriver. So, the first step to taking off our grille is to remove the six pop clips up top. Now, I'm gonna use a clip removal tool, you could also use a flathead screwdriver, I just recommend to be a little bit careful with a flathead screwdriver, so you don't mess up the paint. But we can go ahead and take those off so we can remove our grille. Then we can disconnect our wiring harness for turn signals so we just have to push down on that clip and go back, we can do the same thing on the other side. So, after everything is unplugged, and the clips are out, what we can do is just give our grille a good tug backwards, and it will come right out.So, as you can see one of our retainer clips is still stuck in there, we do need to remove that to make sure that our new ones will fit in properly. So, I just like to take a screwdriver and compress that and it should pop right out. So, now that we have the grille off, we do need to swap over our turn signals into our new grille. So, I'm gonna take a flathead screwdriver and we're gonna pop those out of place. They're only held in by two tabs, but it is a little bit helpful to have a flathead on hand. So, what we're gonna do is just push in these tabs and push down on our foglight or our turn signal because it's gonna push right out of the front of our grille. Just like that. So, if you press in this tab, kind of push down, the same thing for the other one. They'll push right out the front. So, before we hop into the install of our new grille, I do wanna stop down show you guys a little bit of a comparison between our factory grille and this new option by RedRock, show you some of the similarities and differences between the two.So, overall, you can tell that this is going to be a big change moving over to the RedRock option in comparison to our factory grille. And just as a brief overview of our factory grille this is gonna be made out of a plastic material. I have the Sahara version on the table here so we do have the factory inserts. We're gonna have the iconic seven slots, we're gonna have that Jeep logo up at the top and our usual mounting points for our turn signals as well as all the hardware comes from the factory. Now, moving over to this new option, this is gonna be made out of an ABS plastic material, it will be injection-molded, so you can ensure that this is going to have a good factory style fit. But this is also going to change up the styling or with a more aggressive tone to it and a more dynamic look, which will help out the front end of the Jeep as far as styling is concerned. Now, as you can see, we have the angry look. So, we have this aggressive brow up at the top, we have some angular designs in the middle here around the headlight, and we have this wide-open mesh screen in the front. Now, as it says in the name it is wide open, that is going to help you out with some better airflow getting through your AC condenser as well as your radiator to ensure that this is going to keep temperatures down in your Jeep and have your Jeep running a little bit more efficiently especially if you're out on the trail or you live in a hotter climate. Now, this inner piece is gonna be made out of a metal material. So, this will have a gloss black powder coat finish on top, which is going to give it a little bit of a contrast in comparison to this ABS matte black option, or these matte black style on the actual grille itself, which will add some extra styling. And I would like to call out the fact that this ABS plastic material will be able to be painted. So, you can keep it in the matte black finish that you see here, or you can paint it to whatever color scheme that you have going on on your Wrangler or to your factory color code. So it kind of gives you some options as far as styling is concerned. But overall, I do really like the styling and the function that this is gonna give and it comes with all of the hardware that you need to install it.So, if your factory hardware is worn out, you don't have to go ahead and reuse those retainer clips, the weatherstripping or even the pop clips at the top. This is gonna come with all new stuff. So, what do you say we go ahead and prep this grille so we can get it on our Jeep. So, what we're gonna do first is install our weatherstripping, I had already taken off the backing here. But we're gonna kind of center it to where we need it to be and we're gonna put it on this lip up top here. As we're doing this, we're just pressing down on that 3M trying to keep it as even as possible. So, if it's not sticking completely right away, once we install this and the hood lays on the weatherstripping that's gonna help the adhesion process and kind of keep it pushed down until you open up your hood again. Then we can take our turn signals and line those clips up and all we really have to do is just push it through. So now that the grille is flipped on its face, what we can do is take our new retainer clips, and just press these onto each of our mounting locations. And then after we have the bottom ones taken care of there's gonna be one on top of each of the turn signal housings. And then once those are on, we're ready to install our grille. So, what we can do now is just line up where our retainer clips are gonna sit in the radiator support and right underneath the headlight. We can kind of set this in place, line this up, make sure that the retainer clips down bottom are sitting in place then you can just give it a good push. So, what we can do now is take our new pop clips and clip them into place. So the grille is pretty rigid, you might have a couple of stubborn pop clips going in at first. That's because it kind of has to form to the radiator support because it is ABS plastic. But once you have your pop clips in, then we can plug in our turn signals and close up our hood. We can just plug this back into the factory location, make sure clicks and we can do that on the other side and we'll be all set to go. So, that is going to wrap it up for my review and install.
