I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the RedRock 4x4 Full Width Front Bumper with Double Grille Guard, fitting all 2007 and up Wranglers. Today, we're gonna talk through the installation of this bumper, which is a very simple one out of three wrenches. Like most others, this aftermarket bumper will bolt right in place of your factory bumper, making the installation a very simple, no-drill bolt-on. We're also gonna talk about the construction of this bumper and a few of the other features. This bumper is for those of you who want a full-width bumper either for the look or for the protection. This bumper is going to span from corner to corner, giving both of your fenders protection, but because of the way it is cut up on either corner, it will still give you a good bit of clearance if you are running a large, 35-inch tire. So you're not going to have any clearance issues between the tire and the bumper when you're flexing off-road. This bumper also has a couple of other features built right into it that make it a really nice bumper for off-road use. This is a really, solidly-built steel bumper that's covered in a textured black powder coat finish. That textured black finish is going to match a lot of other aftermarket accessories you might bolt onto your Jeep and does a really nice job of matching the factory plastic accents you'll find on your Wrangler right out of the factory.A few of the features I really like about this bumper is the fact that it will accept your factory fog lights. You already have those lights, the wiring and switch is already there, so why not use them? And with this bumper, you'll be able to bolt them right into the back, and you'll get that factory functionality without needing to go out and purchase any additional lights. As you can see right up on top, you do have a winch mount that does come right out of the box with this bumper. However, it is a little bit of an afterthought. This winch plate and fair lead mount actually bolt right on top of the bumper. In my opinion, the bumper does look a little bit cleaner without that winch mount on there. However, if you have a winch, this is going to allow you to bolt the winch up without needing to go out and purchase any additional hardware, and it's going to be a really strong mount. You also have two D-ring mounts that bolt directly through the bumper into the frame horns, giving you plenty of strength for recovery, and this does include two D-rings. I really like D-rings for recovery, especially if you're using a snatch strap or a recovery strap that's designed to have a little bit of slack in it in the beginning and then pulled taut during the recovery. If you have a tow hook, like it comes factory on your Jeep, there's always a chance that the loop of the strap is going to come off of the hook. With a D-ring, when you tighten that down, you know that that connection is not going to come undone until you're finished with the recovery. And when you have a winch mount, you can very easily use a snatch block coming back to your bumper, allowing you to double the pulling capacity of your winch, which, again, makes this very, very useful in an off-road situation. You have your double grille guard up top, which will give your grille and your winch some protection from brush and branches when you're on those narrow trails. And right up on top of the double grille guard, are two light mount tabs, so aside from being able to run those factory fog lights, if you decide to run some auxiliary lights, you have a couple of mounts that make it really easy to bolt those up.So as I mentioned, the installation is going to be a very simple one out of three wrenches. All you'll need to do is remove your factory bumper first, which will start by removing the splash guard and the frame cover and finally removing the eight nuts that are holding that factory bumper in place. Before you remove the factory bumper, you are going to wanna remove the sockets out of your factory fog light and unclip your factory fog light wiring harness from that crash bar in order to remove the bumper without anything hanging it up. Once the bumper's completely removed, you can simply set your new bumper over the frame horns and use the included hardware to bolt it down. Now, if you are going to be using the included winch mount and mounting a winch on this bumper, I would recommend mounting the winch onto the bumper on the ground and then putting the winch and the bumper as a package onto the Jeep. Now, this is a heavy bumper, and the winch is obviously going to make it even heavier and a little bit more cumbersome to move around. However, it's a lot easier to get to your winch mounting bolts when this is on the ground than it is when the bumper's already mounted onto the Jeep. That being said, having an extra set of hands around to move this bumper, especially after you bolt a big, heavy winch onto it, is definitely a good idea. And if you don't have an extra set of hands, some tall jack stands or even an engine hoist can take its place. As far as tools to get this job done, you're not gonna need anything special, just your traditional hand tools. This bumper has a lot of features you'll be looking for in an aftermarket bumper, so even though it is a little bit pricey, in my opinion, this is worth it. It gives you full-width protection, you have the double grille guard, auxiliary light mounts, it accepts your factory fog lights, and it comes right out of the box ready to mount a winch on. So you have a lot of the features that you might be looking at. There are certainly some less expensive bumpers out there that forego a couple of those features, but there are also a lot more expensive bumpers on the market that don't have all of these features. So if this bumper has all the features you're looking, has a look that you like, and falls into your budget, I think it's a really nice option. So if you're looking for a full-width steel bumper to replace that factory plastic bumper on your JK and you want one that has a ton of features built into it, all at a fair price, I think this one from RedRock is a great place to look. So that's my review of the RedRock 4x4 Full Width Front Bumper with Double Grille Guard, fitting all 2007 and up JKs, that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Red rock4×4 full with bumper W/double grill guard
A very high quality bumper for the price. Love the up cut in front of the fenders. Very easy to install with 2 people. Had to buy new hardware for the fog lights (under $5.00 )the bolt on wench plate is nice because you can mount the wench on the plate and then put on bumper. Over all its great.Helpful (0)

This bumper fit perfect even with a camper tow hitch on the front of my Wrangler. Had to make some modifications to the splash shield, but it wasn't difficult. Installed by myself. So it can be done on a solo mission. The steel is a very hard material and I found this out when I had to use self tapping screws to mount the stock fog lights. They don't mount into the holes provided and so for ease of access, I mounted them with self tapping screws. Also, the license plate had to be mounted with self tappers. I would still recommend 100. Happy with my purchase.Helpful (1)

I installed the bumper by myself with no problems. Good looking tough bumper that changed the look of my Jeep. No complaints other than I did have to buy some new bolts to use my fog lights due to screws being used in the stock bumper.Helpful (1)

Very easy to install looks great and the way it's built it looks like it will hold up for years to come. Would have gave it 5 stars if it hadn't been for the wench plate. The way it's designed it was impossible to get the back two bolts in after putting my wench on.Helpful (1)

The bumper is exactly what I wanted.I didn't want to install a wench and the mechanical design was perfect. I also wanted the full width bumper and cosmetically it looks great. I installed it with NO HELP.Helpful (4)

Clean look, great price!
I've had the bumper for almost two years now. There is a little rust on the winch plate, but other than that she has held up well. My wife accidentally backed into it and there wasn't even a scratch, though it killed the rear bumper on her rouge. I've read people complaining about them not providing screws for the fog lights, I used the factory screws without issue. It was a one person install, with the help of a little polish ingenuity and a floor jack. Overall a great solid bumper for the price. It's even helped to pull a couple chevy's out of the ditch just using the d-rings.Helpful (3)

Hello, is the winch plate removable? Some customer pics are without the winch plate/lead.
Thank you for your question! The winch plate and fare-lead mount are bolt on and it is removable.
Will the Barricade Skid Plate fit with this bumper?
Hello! The Barricade Skid Plate will require some modification to fit the RedRock 4x4 Full Width Front Bumper w/Double Grille Guard
Is there anyway to order the winch plate separately? I have the bumper just need the winch plate.
What size hardware (8 nuts) does it take to attach the bumper to the mounts?
This utilizes M12 hex nuts with flanges.
Will the vacuum pump need to be relocated?
The RedRock 4x4 Full Width Front Bumper w/ Double Grille Guard will not require vacuum pump relocation.
It is not designed to easily install a license plate so you will either need to make modifications, or utilize a universal mount to, for example, attach to the bull bar or to the winch fairlead if you install a winch.
That item will not fit this bumper. The Rugged Ridge Front Skid Plate is only compatible with factory or Rugged Ridge brand bumpers.
We have not tested this bumper with any of the tow plates, however we do not believe this would be compatible.
The RedRock 4x4 Full Width Front Bumper measures 74" from end-to-end.
This will weigh right around 120 lbs.
The RedRock 4x4 Full Width Front Bumper accepts the original OEM Factory fog lights.
Looking at the front view picture of the bumper, the bar barely reaches the level of the headlights. Therefore, any shadows cast would be almost directly in front of the vehicle.
A lift is not required for the installation of this bumper.
I apologize for the trouble in this, there is not a set guide on the fabrications needed to make the skid plate work with this particular bumper.
