This RedRock 4x4 Dead Pedal is for the driver side of your 2007 to 2018 JK with an automatic transmission and this is gonna be for those of you that wanna make it a little bit more comfortable for you as the driver on those longer trips. A lot of modern vehicles will have something that puts your left foot, your unused foot in an automatic vehicle, at a little bit of an angle and it just makes it a little bit more comfortable for your ankle, your knee, your hip, pretty much your whole leg to be resting on that angle. Of course, Jeep doesn't have anything from the factory and that's where the aftermarket steps in. This is going to be a piece that is a very easy install, one out of three wrenches for sure on this, just bolts into place and I'll show you exactly how to do that in just a second. This dead pedal is going to be made out of steel. It's covered in a textured black powdered coat finish and really, there's not much to it and that's okay. All it needs to do is be a footrest and it's going to be very, very good at that. It bolts in nice and solidly and it has a variety of different mounting holes so that you can move it forward and backward to make it comfortable for you however your seating position is, however you drive your Jeep. So you can make it comfortable for you however your seating position is and no matter how tall you are, you're gonna be able to make this thing nice and comfortable and make it work for you. This is going to be a pedal that comes in at $40 which I think is very, very fair. There are going to be some other ones on the market. Maybe they're gonna be a different material but a lot of them are going to be a little bit more expensive and there isn't much of a reason for it. Like I said, this is very simple but all it is is a footrest so I think this is an incredibly fair price. So let me show you how to get this installed. So like I said, very simple installation here. This is going to use all factory hardware in all factory spots. All you have to do is remove a couple of bolts and then reinstall them with the bracket behind them. But before you can do that you need to remove the door strap and the door wiring harness just to get those pieces out of the way. So I'm going to do that now. You always want to be careful when you have that door strap removed that the door doesn't completely swing open and ding your cowl. We have some pretty wide fender flares on this Jeep so that helps. So there are two 10-millimeter bolts on the door strap retention hook here and then there are two 10-millimeter bolts a little further forward that are actually grounding points for some of the wiring harness and those are the four that you'll have to remove. Now that they're removed you just need to put the dead pedal in its location. As you can see, you have three sets of holes and that's just gonna set the pedal a little bit further forward or backward. That's really just gonna depend on your comfort level, how close you like to sit to your steering wheel, how long your legs are, so you can sort of play with it. I'm pretty tall so I'm gonna set it as far forward as it can go. Once you have it hooked on those back two studs you can go ahead and replace all the rest of the screws and nut hardware. The last step is going to be reattaching your limit strap and your wiring for the door. So whether you're somebody who takes your JK on long trail rides, long road trips, or you just want to make it a little bit more comfortable for those short trips around town, I would definitely recommend adding a RedRock 4x4 Dead Pedal and you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.
