      The Rough Country Solid Steel Front Grab Handles in black are for those of you with a 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking for a grab handle that's gonna make it easier for you and your passengers to get in and out of your Jeep and one that's gonna be a little bit less expensive than some of the other steel grab handles out there on the market. This is gonna be a nice easy one out of three wrenches for the installation. Gonna bolt right up two factory mounting points and we're gonna show you how to get them installed in just a second. So when it comes to grab handles, you're going to find a couple of main categories, the two being either a soft grab handle and usually those are going to Velcro onto the sport cage right here. They're gonna do the job and they are going to be much less expensive and even easier to install than the ones we're gonna talk about today. And within those you're going to find different ones that have either more padding or less, more Velcro or less, so the price is gonna vary a little bit along with the quality but they're all pretty much the same. And then the next big category is going to be those steel grab handles and that's what we have here. They are going to bolt into place, they're going to of course be steel as it says in the name or some sort of metal whether it be aluminum or steel. The point being that they are very solid, they're not going to be a canvas material where they're flexible, so they give you a really solid grab point here. So whether you're grabbing it and pulling yourself up into the Jeep or you're holding onto it as a brace when you're bouncing down a rough trail, it is not going to move, it's bolted firmly into the Jeep. Now these are going to in general be more expensive than the soft grab handles. They are still an easy install but require more than just some Velcro. And some people don't like them because this is one more thing that you can hit your head on whether it's when you're getting in and out of the Jeep or when you catch that unexpected bump on the trail. So, two schools of thought there, whether soft or a steel grab handle is better, this is going to be an excellent choice for you. And the biggest reason for that in my opinion is the price tag. These are gonna be a lot less expensive than the other metal grab candles on the market coming in at right around $50 for a pair of these. So you pair that with ease of installation, I think this is a really good vibe. So one out of three wrenches for the install here. Let me show you how to do it. So for this installation, we needed a 13-millimeter deep well socket as well as a 6-millimeter Allen key socket and we drove both of those with our three-eighths electric impact. And we're just going to have to remove two bolts out of your Jeep that our factory and replace them with some longer bolts when we're bolting our new grab handles into place. So we have our 13-millimeter socket, we're gonna be removing the bolt that is to the left of our sun visor here and then also a bolt that goes into the A-pillar and you want to be extra careful with the one that comes out of the A-pillar here. If you're not careful with it, you can drop it behind the plastic trim piece on the A-pillar then you have to remove the trim piece to get the bolt, it becomes a lot more work. So be careful when you're taking that bolt out. So gonna go ahead and get those removed. Now it's time to bolt our grab handle into place. So we're going to take the shorter of the two bolts and that's gonna go up through the top hole in the grab handle here and then the shorter of the two spacers. And we'll thread this into the threaded hole in the top of the windshield frame here that we removed one of our 13-millimeter bolts from. We just want to get a couple of turns on that so we leave it pretty loose. That way we can take our longer bolt, put it through the other hole here and our longer spacer and get that started into the A-pillar. Once we have both of those strutted by hand so we're sure we're not gonna strip anything, we can then tighten them down. And we just repeat the same process on the other side. Once you have both those bolts all tightened up, you're finished with the installation.
