      Review & Installation Video

Hey guys I'm Ryan from Extreme Terrain and this is my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust that fits all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs both 2 door and 4 door. As you can see the system is offered in both black and stainless finishes. This is a great exhaust for those of you who spend most of the time on the road or on light trails without a lot of tailpipe crushing obstacles. For those of you who spend more time on the rocks, you'll want to look at our high clearance exhaust systems that tuck everything up and out of the way. When you're shopping for an axle-back exhaust for your Jeep you're really looking at three factors, one being sound of course, the second being build quality and the third being the looks. No axle-back is going to provide huge power gains to your JK. The exhaust is not the most restrictive part of the system so opening it up isn't going to give you a ton more power. Unfortunately no axle-back is going to make your V6 sound like a V8. That being said, this exhaust will give you a nice low note. You'll definitely notice more of a growl especially when you're in the higher RPM band - when you get into the throttle getting onto an onramp for instance. I'll give it about a two out of five on loudness. You'll get a little bit more sound but you'll definitely notice the lower note. When it comes to the quality of the construction, these are really solid especially for a budget system. They don't sound tinny. Got a nice heavy weight to them. The welds are consistent and look really strong. And, the finish is great in both black and in stainless. They use the same 409 stainless material as some of the most expensive systems, so they should hold up for you in the long run. If you were to have any problems in the first three years, RedRock 4x4 offers a three year warranty. Finally, visually the systems look great. You get the dual outlet exhaust that gives your Jeep a tough look and you get to choose between either the stainless with the polished tips or the black to really customize the look of your rig. The install for this system could not be any easier. You need one wrench to loosen and retighten three different bolts, and it uses all the factory hangers. On a scale of one to five this is definitely a one. You can probably get this done in less than an hour with normal hand tools. You don't even need to call a friend for an extra set of hands. If you want to see what other people are saying about this exhaust system, make sure you check out the customer submitted reviews on the website. If you're having trouble deciding between black or stainless, there are tons of customer submitted pictures. For you guys that are staying on the road or on the light trails and want that nice low exhaust note and a custom look, this is the perfect system for you. It's really well built for the budget and shares a lot of features with the more expensive systems that we offer. That's my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust. For more reviews check out In the meantime I'm Ryan. Thanks for watching.

3 2015 Wrangler - YasineO Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

Good at first, but quality wore out quickly

So at first I loved this addition. Install was simple; just a little tricky removing the stock exhaust beforehand. Loved the sound (still hasn’t changed) and it provided a cooler, more aggressive look to the jeep. After 5-6 months, the color started to fade a little. No biggie, is to be expected with the exhaust. But after about a year, the entire thing looks gross and rusted. Again, no change to sound or performance, but now it looks like it’s been submerged in the ocean for years. Rather than replacing, I’ll probably find a way to scrape the rust off and coat it in something more heat resistant/less prone to rust. But again, it’s just additional work that shouldn’t be an issue in the first place.

        5 2008 Wrangler - Bhance88 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        I love it

It’s got a beautiful drone when idling and accelerating it sounds amazing. It’s meaty and inside I don’t have to yell at my passenger to talk. Great for the price. The only downfall was taking off the old exhaust.

5 2017 Wrangler - JeepNewBee Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

Great addition and easy install on '17 JK

Easy to install, muffler hanger pliers recommended, less than an hour out of your time to get a great look and great sound to your ride. I have a Black on Black '17 Sahara, with winter pkg, Sound is a mild rumble and not to radical. Fit is good with minor adjustments to align tips and heat shield contact...Great look and purchase for DIY guys!

        Awesome sounds!

These pipes are just plain awesome. I wasn’t expecting the nice sound they produce, I was just looking for the look, but these sound great also.

5 2013 Wrangler - EddieB Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Great addition to my JKU!

Perfect fit except for having to bend heat shield a bit to avoid contact with muffler. Easy install! My Jeep is a 2013 and is not listed below. Have to check a box to continue this review so please don’t be confused that I’ve checked one of the boxes.

1 2017 Rubicon - Rubicon Installation Time: Afternoon

        Poor Fit

I would not recommend this item at all. I just received mine and installed it and it is a lousy fit. There is a slot to slide past a tab on the exhaust pipe when you push the exhaust on. This slot was off by a half a slot and had to be modified to get it on. The hanger rods that fit into the rubber brackets were not bent correctly and the right side will not stay in the rubber hanger due to the angle it is bent. Also, due to the way they are bent the right side tail pipe is higher then the left side. The exhaust itself if up against the body and melted a rubber water drain plug in the rear cargo area of my Jeep. It also rattles against the under body due to the poor match up to the rubber hangers. This is on a 2017 JK Rubicon. This is the third item I have purchased from Extreme Terrain and two out of the three have not fit correctly and have to be modified to fit. This exhaust and a rear bumper have not fit even closely. Both have been way off! I have spent over a thousand dollars and am very displeased with the quality of there products fit. I would think after two bad reviews from me I would hear from someone in their customer service area but I guess they have my money and could care less. This will most likely be my last purchase from them!

5 2012 Wrangler - Kristel Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $100-$250

        Great muffler!

I bought my Jeep used. I liked the rumble of the exhaust that was on it, but rust got the better of the part, I found my exhaust pipe hanging, I needed something NOW and it being the holidays I needed affordable. This fit the bill! It's only a little quieter then what was there (flowmaster) which is fine with me since it's my daily driver and I like to hear the music I'm playing or my passengers. It would have been easy to install but the dummy that put on the exhaust I bought it with tack welded it on, so I was forced to take it to a shop to have the install done, since i could get the old one off. Bottom line great product! Great price!

        Good Look and good sound

Overall it is a pretty low tone. It's not too loud, but if you accelerate it gets a little louder (obviously).
