    Review & Installation Video

Hey guys I'm Ryan from Extreme Terrain and this is my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust that fits all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs both 2 door and 4 door. As you can see the system is offered in both black and stainless finishes. This is a great exhaust for those of you who spend most of the time on the road or on light trails without a lot of tailpipe crushing obstacles. For those of you who spend more time on the rocks, you'll want to look at our high clearance exhaust systems that tuck everything up and out of the way. When you're shopping for an axle-back exhaust for your Jeep you're really looking at three factors, one being sound of course, the second being build quality and the third being the looks. No axle-back is going to provide huge power gains to your JK. The exhaust is not the most restrictive part of the system so opening it up isn't going to give you a ton more power. Unfortunately no axle-back is going to make your V6 sound like a V8. That being said, this exhaust will give you a nice low note. You'll definitely notice more of a growl especially when you're in the higher RPM band - when you get into the throttle getting onto an onramp for instance. I'll give it about a two out of five on loudness. You'll get a little bit more sound but you'll definitely notice the lower note. When it comes to the quality of the construction, these are really solid especially for a budget system. They don't sound tinny. Got a nice heavy weight to them. The welds are consistent and look really strong. And, the finish is great in both black and in stainless. They use the same 409 stainless material as some of the most expensive systems, so they should hold up for you in the long run. If you were to have any problems in the first three years, RedRock 4x4 offers a three year warranty. Finally, visually the systems look great. You get the dual outlet exhaust that gives your Jeep a tough look and you get to choose between either the stainless with the polished tips or the black to really customize the look of your rig. The install for this system could not be any easier. You need one wrench to loosen and retighten three different bolts, and it uses all the factory hangers. On a scale of one to five this is definitely a one. You can probably get this done in less than an hour with normal hand tools. You don't even need to call a friend for an extra set of hands. If you want to see what other people are saying about this exhaust system, make sure you check out the customer submitted reviews on the website. If you're having trouble deciding between black or stainless, there are tons of customer submitted pictures. For you guys that are staying on the road or on the light trails and want that nice low exhaust note and a custom look, this is the perfect system for you. It's really well built for the budget and shares a lot of features with the more expensive systems that we offer. That's my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust. For more reviews check out extremeterrain.com. In the meantime I'm Ryan. Thanks for watching.

      Decent

For the price you really cant complain at all. I find the sound 2k and 3k rpms to be kind of annoying but its really growing on me over all. Looks great though! way better than stock no matter what. it didn't take no time to put on but did take me forever to get the stock exhaust off. had to cut my clamp off with a grinder

      Red Rock Axle back exhaust

The new exhaust system looks great and sounds even better. It was a little difficult to remove the old system from the hangers than was indicated in the videos. But once it was out of the way the new system was in and tightened up within 40 minutes. While the exhaust was out I removed the small heat shield and spray painted it on both sides with 585 Deg. Black Paint and reassembled it. All looks and sounds great.

Review from RedRock 4x4 Dual Outlet Axle-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

      Glad I bought this exhaust

After installing two cheap mufflers from a discount auto parts store that rusted out very quickly I decided to go with the RedRock muffler. It was easy to install and sits perfectly level under the Jeep. I used a pneumatic cutoff tool to hel in the removal of the old one. It has a nice deep tone at lower rpm’s. It has a quality finish. I would definitely purchase again.

      Awesome sound

I previously watched a video on YouTube about this muffler that sounded great. Super easy to install. Sounds great on my 2015 Rubicon, deep throaty, feels like there’s more power. I looked at a lot of other mufflers, but I would definitely put this on my next Jeep. Getting the hang grommet off the old muffler on the passenger side was a nightmare. Your going to need an angled pry bar to get it off, once you figure that out, it’s super easy to remove.... Enjoy

Review from RedRock 4x4 Dual Outlet Axle-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

      Sounds great!

It is a little off on alignment with the existing factory exhaust pipe above the axle and the hanger mounts are a little smaller in diameter than stock (aka easier to get in and out). Overall it is a fairly simple install and you can align the tips a fair amount as well, ie you can decide how much you want sticking out past the bumper. I may swap out the hangers for metal ones so I can get the tips level with each other.

      Nice Rumble

This muffler was an easy install. One clamp and 2 hangers remove the stock muffler. 3 bolts on this kit, and you are done. Nice low rumble and not obnoxiously loud. Makes the Jeep sound more like a Jeep. Great price, and looks solid. Installed on a 2008 JK.

      Dual Exhaust

1.)The product is well made. It's going to be fun! 2.)The tips that slide into the rubber mounts should be horizontal not angled. That's just my opinion. There may be a reason they are welded on at an angle. 3.) As mentioned in other reviews these pipes are rather low and would be damaged in serious off road driving. I don't do much off road so I should be okay. 4.) Sound is great! Especially when the Jeep is started and sitting there idling. However, above 1500 RPM you better have some ear plugs for long distance driving. The droning noise is quite bad for your ears. I'm an older guy so you younger guys can probably tolerate it more. But beware it cannot be good for the inner ear which is delicate and can be damaged over time. 5.) The clamps that secure the polished tips could be more refined. They don't look that great and they do show from a few feet back looking at the pipes. 6.) I'm hanging on to the stock muffler. I will probably use this setup in the summer months and switch back for the long winters.

      Great bang for your buck.

Took about an hour to install. Fit perfectly, no issues. Keep a couple stubby/beefy flatheads and a hammer nearby. Channel locks work best to pop the mufflers in and out of the rubber hangers. I've put several hundred miles on this over a couple weeks. It sounds great! Almost like a V6 Challenger with an exhaust. Nice exhaust note in the cab without being too loud.

Best choice for the money and the badass look!

I've been looking for a few months for a decent exhaust that not too expensive and not too loud. And lucky me. My wife just got this RR 4x4 exhaust for me for my birthday! I LOVE IT! It sounds loud enough in deep and low tone (real Jeep tone). To my opinion it looks badass and stronger without the tips. I also put 3 coats of flame proof paint (flat black) for better protection. I highly recommend this exhaust and excellent service (like usual) from ET. It took 30 minutes to take the EOM exhaust off and 5 minutes to install the RR 4x4.

Pulling the old exhaust was tedious, considering only 2 years old. New unit bolted right up was level and even. Did touch up the tip clamp bolts with black spray paint. The paint chips off the nut when tightening with a socket.
