    Review & Installation Video

Hey guys I'm Ryan from Extreme Terrain and this is my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust that fits all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs both 2 door and 4 door. As you can see the system is offered in both black and stainless finishes. This is a great exhaust for those of you who spend most of the time on the road or on light trails without a lot of tailpipe crushing obstacles. For those of you who spend more time on the rocks, you'll want to look at our high clearance exhaust systems that tuck everything up and out of the way. When you're shopping for an axle-back exhaust for your Jeep you're really looking at three factors, one being sound of course, the second being build quality and the third being the looks. No axle-back is going to provide huge power gains to your JK. The exhaust is not the most restrictive part of the system so opening it up isn't going to give you a ton more power. Unfortunately no axle-back is going to make your V6 sound like a V8. That being said, this exhaust will give you a nice low note. You'll definitely notice more of a growl especially when you're in the higher RPM band - when you get into the throttle getting onto an onramp for instance. I'll give it about a two out of five on loudness. You'll get a little bit more sound but you'll definitely notice the lower note. When it comes to the quality of the construction, these are really solid especially for a budget system. They don't sound tinny. Got a nice heavy weight to them. The welds are consistent and look really strong. And, the finish is great in both black and in stainless. They use the same 409 stainless material as some of the most expensive systems, so they should hold up for you in the long run. If you were to have any problems in the first three years, RedRock 4x4 offers a three year warranty. Finally, visually the systems look great. You get the dual outlet exhaust that gives your Jeep a tough look and you get to choose between either the stainless with the polished tips or the black to really customize the look of your rig. The install for this system could not be any easier. You need one wrench to loosen and retighten three different bolts, and it uses all the factory hangers. On a scale of one to five this is definitely a one. You can probably get this done in less than an hour with normal hand tools. You don't even need to call a friend for an extra set of hands. If you want to see what other people are saying about this exhaust system, make sure you check out the customer submitted reviews on the website. If you're having trouble deciding between black or stainless, there are tons of customer submitted pictures. For you guys that are staying on the road or on the light trails and want that nice low exhaust note and a custom look, this is the perfect system for you. It's really well built for the budget and shares a lot of features with the more expensive systems that we offer. That's my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust. For more reviews check out extremeterrain.com. In the meantime I'm Ryan. Thanks for watching.

I’ve ordered multiple items from Extreme and had a great experience!! Now...does this exhaust hang lower than the factory setup? Not the pipes as it appears so, but the muffler itself specifically.

    • This exhaust is going to hang in the same position as the factory exhaust and the muffler would also be at a similar height.

Does this exhaust have a drone inside the cab? My current aftermarket exhaust has a mind-numbing drone loudest at cruise RPM.

    • We advise listening to many sound clips for in and out of Jeep drone. Sound is preference and therefore subjective.

Review from RedRock 4x4 Dual Outlet Axle-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

      Easy but tricky

You’ll need a 15mm socket, WD40 and mild strength. The challenge is to get it straight and removing the old exhaust from the hangers. Those hangers man. Once you put some WD40 on them you’re good to go, they come out easy but you’ll need some good strength to snap them out the old exhaust or chassis. Once you get the new one in place the real challenge begins... to get it straight. What I did was to tighten the new exhaust to the jeep and make sure is in the position it should be, even though you gonna see the exhaust all bent, once you get it on the hangers it’ll look straight. But kee in mind you gonna need some strength to get it in the hangers. Its a pretty easy job to do.

      Nice exhaust.

Looks nice. Sounds quiet at an idle but gets louder with higher rpms. A nice aggressive growl when you punch the throttle. I would give it 5 stars except the left tip hangs lower than the right. I tweaked the left side hanger tI make it look good.

      A little loud

A bit louder than I hoped. Not from the pipe itself but resonates in the car like a subwoofer. Easy install and looks great though.

      Nice sound. Bad fit

This has added a nice sound to my Jeep. It also looks good from behind. However the fit is terrible. The handling brackets are not same as 2017 stock muffler. Because of that, the muffler will become disconnected from the Jeep on passenger side and it will hang loose. I have had to spend extra money at muffler shop to get to amstay connected. I would not recommend this system.

      Great quality

Quality and construction is excellent.. Replaced the mid resonator pipe at the same time for a new complete catback system. Took some air chiseling to get the old exhaust off, but installation was a breeze. Feels like a little more seat of the pants power, but the best part is the sound. Not too loud, no drone and you don't @iss off the neighbors at 5AM.. smile

Great value - worth the effort of the install

Really solid and great value. Was particularly surprised with how loud the ‘growl’ is at low revs. The only negative was the ‘effort’ needed to get the old exhaust off (but that’s the removal so not the install). Managed it in the end so the effort makes the reward even more satisfying! 2hr instal
