    Review & Install Video

Hey guys I'm Ryan from Extreme Terrain and this is my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust that fits all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs both 2 door and 4 door. As you can see the system is offered in both black and stainless finishes. This is a great exhaust for those of you who spend most of the time on the road or on light trails without a lot of tailpipe crushing obstacles. For those of you who spend more time on the rocks, you'll want to look at our high clearance exhaust systems that tuck everything up and out of the way. When you're shopping for an axle-back exhaust for your Jeep you're really looking at three factors, one being sound of course, the second being build quality and the third being the looks. No axle-back is going to provide huge power gains to your JK. The exhaust is not the most restrictive part of the system so opening it up isn't going to give you a ton more power. Unfortunately no axle-back is going to make your V6 sound like a V8. That being said, this exhaust will give you a nice low note. You'll definitely notice more of a growl especially when you're in the higher RPM band - when you get into the throttle getting onto an onramp for instance. I'll give it about a two out of five on loudness. You'll get a little bit more sound but you'll definitely notice the lower note. When it comes to the quality of the construction, these are really solid especially for a budget system. They don't sound tinny. Got a nice heavy weight to them. The welds are consistent and look really strong. And, the finish is great in both black and in stainless. They use the same 409 stainless material as some of the most expensive systems, so they should hold up for you in the long run. If you were to have any problems in the first three years, RedRock 4x4 offers a three year warranty. Finally, visually the systems look great. You get the dual outlet exhaust that gives your Jeep a tough look and you get to choose between either the stainless with the polished tips or the black to really customize the look of your rig. The install for this system could not be any easier. You need one wrench to loosen and retighten three different bolts, and it uses all the factory hangers. On a scale of one to five this is definitely a one. You can probably get this done in less than an hour with normal hand tools. You don't even need to call a friend for an extra set of hands. If you want to see what other people are saying about this exhaust system, make sure you check out the customer submitted reviews on the website. If you're having trouble deciding between black or stainless, there are tons of customer submitted pictures. For you guys that are staying on the road or on the light trails and want that nice low exhaust note and a custom look, this is the perfect system for you. It's really well built for the budget and shares a lot of features with the more expensive systems that we offer. That's my review of the RedRock 4x4 dual outlet axle-back exhaust. For more reviews check out extremeterrain.com. In the meantime I'm Ryan. Thanks for watching.

I’ve ordered multiple items from Extreme and had a great experience!! Now...does this exhaust hang lower than the factory setup? Not the pipes as it appears so, but the muffler itself specifically.

        • This exhaust is going to hang in the same position as the factory exhaust and the muffler would also be at a similar height.

            Looks and Sounds great

Finish is quite good. Fitment has a lot to be desired. Angle of muffler inlet to the tailpipe is off a fair amount making the passenger side hanger out of position and not allowing it to line up. Muffler mounting rod won't stay and pulls out.

            Get what you pay for.

Looked great and went on easy. Now less than 5 months in the paint is coming off fast and it sounds as if I do not even have a muffler on. Looks good for a short while and is loud. Just a comparison, before I put this muffler on I had no muffler on and the sound difference is hardly noticeable.

Red Rock sells high quality stuff for cheaper price than their competitors. I bought this one because it was like $60 cheaper than the black one. when i got it, i painted it black and put them on. Installation is easy, just have an exhaust removal tool ready.

This exhaust sounds amazing and was really easy to install, cant beat it for the price. I had some problems installing the hangers, the hooks on the exhaust were about a half inch too short, easy fix though just used a ziptie to keep it on, overall extremely happy with the product

            Listen to many before picking

I have own many aftermarket exhausts. Basically they all sound pretty good. If you do long trips with your wife she may not like the cabin noise if you have the hard top on. Sounds like driving a Dodge Viper. Just taking off the front roof drastically reduces the interior noise. When you hit the gas it’s of course louder. I don’t really see a performance gain but I do find myself driving faster to get the exhaust sound that I like.

It's cool for the price and better than stock!

I've had this for almost two years now. The number one thing that bugs me is the finish. It's pretty much gone started peeling after first 6 months. The second thing is like some others have said, it looks like one pipe is lower than the other. It really depends on what angle your looking at it. Plus where the hangers where attached draws your eye to the side that looks lower. It is however a nice upgrade as far as sound and maybe a little added horsepower goes. The cost of it was what sold me. It's also well constructed. If I had to do it over, I think I would maybe go with Magnaflow or Borla instead of this.

Review from RedRock 4x4 Dual Outlet Axle-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips (07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK)

            Love it, but......

Absolutely love my exhaust. Took about two hours. This is by myself, no lift and trying to be gentle during the process. After fighting with the hangers, I just cut the brackets that attach the muffler to the hangers. Wish I had done that sooner. Would have been done in less than an hour had I gone that route originally. Lubed the joint section and wiggled the muffler off from the mid-pipe. Wiggled the new one on, hoping its on far enough. This was a struggle. Popped the new brackets into the hangers and done. I will say that it would be nicer if the tips had a bump or a stop on them so that they are equaled up on the tailpipes. As mentioned the paint chips on the nuts as you tighten them. I plan on hitting the muffler occasionally with black grill paint (high heat).

            Custom fit

It was a good fit like described. Maybe 45 minutes taking my time to install. Everything was like custom fit. And the tips at the end of the exhaust added that extra touch. Their was enough play to adjust the tips to suit what you think looks great. That is where some your time goes. Trying to figure out how far in or out to put the tips. Looks great and sounds beefy for a V-6. on take offs. But quiiets down on the open road. Very pleased.

This exhaust kit is awesome and sounds much louder and better than I expected from an axle back exhaust. It is not obnoxious or super loud but will make your jeep sound much lower and better.
