    Are the 7" Flares paintable?

    • These fenders can be painted once prepped prior. If you taking the vehicle off-road I would be cautious when flexing to not rub on the painted fenders, doing so may cause the flares to bend or twist causing the paint to possibly come off. If you are taking the vehicle off road I would recommend looking into steel flares to be painted.

      Nice Product!

Fit like they are supposed to, fairly easy to install, keep the mud and water off with my wide tires flinging, and look great!

      7inch fender flare install

The new flares are as they were described and I found them to be of high quality. The fit was exact to the factory flares. My problem came from trying to remove the factory flares. They were difficult to remove due to the akward position of the plastic nuts holding them on and then several ofthe nutsert fasteners ended up spinning in their holes. So I had to get the nutsert tool to finish the job. The alignment of the flare extensions is questionable. They still don’t really align.

      Fender Flares

Great product but instructions could have been more complete. You need to pull the rear fender liner to reach most of the screws/ plastic nuts. Remove the front fenders and the small pieces that finish and put on in reverse order so you don’t have to take those screws out all the way - just loosen and slide forward to remove. The finished product looks great and keeps the rocks off the windshield much better than the originals. I have 12.5x33 tires which come right to the edge of the new flares.

These things are great. Install a fastener (loosly) at each end first. Then carefully finish fitting the top of the flare while loosely installing one fastener at a time. Once all fasteners are in place gently tighten all fasteners. It's time consuming but I got very good results. Watching a youtube video helped a lot.

      Greaat addition to our Jeep!!

Very pleased with the Red Rock 4x4 7” Fender Flares! They give our ‘99 TJ a more solid look and feel and they cover our big 35/12.50/15s tires beautifully! The original flares were difficult to remove, so we paid to have the new ones installed. I’m sure that we could have done it ourselves, but it was worth it to me to have them installed professionally. They look great!

Awesome look but doesn't all fit

The flares are awesome looking and fit perfect. But, whatever you do when you want to buy a 4 piece set, do NOT buy the trailing guards that come with the 6 piece set. They do NOT fit up against the flares. The company I bought the 6 piece set from contacted the company that makes them. They were told to tell me just push them into place. I tried that. It puts a huge dent into the trailing part of the flare. I will NOT bolt them into place. Whatever you do, do NOT buy a 6 piece set for a Jeep TJ. I recommend the 4 piece set if you are going to install them onto a Jeep TJ.

      Red Rock 7" fender flares

The flares fit well and look good. The price was much better than most. I had mine Rinolined before installing them so I don't expect them to fade. One issue is the 1/2" diameter fender washers provided, they are not nearly large enough to properly pull the fender up against the body of the Jeep. Go buy a couple dozen 1" dia. or larger fender washers and you'll be much happier with the results.
