Are the 7" Flares paintable?

RobertH

  • These fenders can be painted once prepped prior. If you taking the vehicle off-road I would be cautious when flexing to not rub on the painted fenders, doing so may cause the flares to bend or twist causing the paint to possibly come off. If you are taking the vehicle off road I would recommend looking into steel flares to be painted.

    Good flares

As described. Definitely solid and easy to install. Not flimsy. I would say this is a good value for the money. Perfect fit with factory pilot holes.

    Fender Upgrade

The look of the fenders installed is incredible...... makes my TJ look more like a new Jeep. The installation is a bit cumbersome and a lot of patience is required.... Removing the old shallow fenders was time consuming but worth it in the end. I was a little disappointed in the fit however, when the side pieces were pushed as far forward as possible it still left a small gap between it and the front fender but not much more than the stock install. The instructions were a bit sparse, but adequate. Overall a very worthwhile upgrade.

    Look Great

It was much harder to take off the old fenders that it was to put on the new ones. These new fenders look great on my Jeep and fit just as expected.

    Wider is better

Installing the new flares is not tough, it's getting the original one's off , that is the challenge from years of mud and rain, I used a box wrench, mini vise grips and a mini socket set.

    Love how wide they are

These look really good if you got nice big and wide tires because it fits the fenders really good! The fenders make the jeep look mean ! I love them! Worth getting!

    Easy install, great look.

Easy to install, the look is tough. Pair with some wheel spacers or off set rims and they change the look from stock to a beast .

    Covers tires.

The fender flares look nice when installed. They were a little difficult to install with out help. To line the holes up would have been much easier with help. The flares have to be pulled to line the holes up. They seem to be a little opened up out of the box and not bent enough. Once you got a couple of bolts started you could align the others by forcing them in place. They look good once You get all the bolts in.

Sturdy, easy install with some help. A younger person could do it alone. My old hardware was in good condition so I reused it.

    Perfect for wide tires

I was tired of my my wide tires flinging gunk into the tub when I came off the trail. These wide fenders eliminated that. The fit and finish are perfect and they are very stiff. Should hold up as well as the OEM flares.

    Great Fender Flare Kit

Installed on my 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport and they look GREAT!!!! Took me about an hour to remove and replace all four fenders. Did not have to remove the plastic inter fenders I was able to push on the outer edge and used a open end wrench to hold the plastic screw back.

    Flares are great!

We replaced oem flares with these for added protection from 33 inch tires. They look great and went on nicely. Hubby and I did it while we installed barricade rock gaurd steps. Install took afternoon including both products !
