Hey, what's up, guys? Ryan here from Extreme Terrain. And today, I'm here with a RedRock 4x4 4-inch straight oval side step bars in textured black fitting your 2018 and up 4-door Wrangler JL. And this is gonna be for those of you that are just looking to change up the appearance of your Jeep, adding a little bit of a functionality with some easy to install affordable setup side steps. Here's the perfect addition for any Jeep owner as it's gonna gain you some ease of access into your Jeep, especially for those of you that are lifted. And also, it's gonna make it a lot easier to reach any cargo that you may have stored on top of your Jeep. This kit consist of heavy duty steel brackets, making it very strong, and the tube is made of heavy duty sealed tubing. It's coded in a textured black powder coating that's gonna provide an aggressive look. And it's also gonna protect your investment from the elements. Now, these have a very nice built-in step. This is gonna ensure you have a sure footing. You don't go slipping off when you're reaching or going to get into your Jeep. This is a very simplistic set of steps. And as far as price goes, I think this is very reasonably priced at just around $250. I think this is a great option to go with. As far as installation goes, I am gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter as you can get both of these things installed in about two hours, just using basic hand tools. Now, with that being said, the top and door install. Tools we use for this install, 3/8 drive impact, socket extension, 10-millimeter socket, 1/2-inch socket, 16-millimeter socket,10-millimeter wrench, 17-millimeter wrench. Now, the first thing we need to do to get the steps install is install the brackets. We get a ton of brackets in this kit. Luckily they are all labeled. They are labeled a DF, DC, and DR. Same thing on the other side. That's for front, center, and rear. So you're gonna have one bracket. This is going to attach. That's where the step bolts, and then this other bracket is gonna attach to the pinch weld. They're gonna bolt together. That's gonna give you a ton of support for these steps. So with that being said, we're gonna crawl under there and get started. But if you do have a factory step, you need to remove that first, of course. And you can do this very easily with a 13-millimeter socket or a 10-millimeter socket. Anyway, that's get under there. Get these installed and get these steps on it. So the first thing we wanna do is attach our step bracket. We're up here at the driver's front and this bracket is labeled DF. So I'm gonna go ahead and take our 8-millimeter bolt. This is the longest bolt that you get in the kit. You want to do a lock washer and then a flat washer. And that's gonna go up through the bracket into the body. Next, we're gonna install our support brackets. Same thing. This is labeled DF. Get rid of that confusion. This is gonna sit on the backside of this towards the back of the Jeep. After that, we're gonna take our 6-millimeter bolts, we're gonna put a large flat washer on there. And they're gonna go through the pinch weld here through the bracket. On the backside, they're gonna get another flat washer and then a little tiny nyloc nut. So we get both of those in, one on each side, and then we'll attach it to our actual step bracket. But attach these two brackets together, we're gonna take our 10-millimeter bolt. It's gonna get a flat washer, poke through both of these brackets. And we get another flat washer, and then a large nyloc nut. Next, we'll take our driver center, do the same thing. Next, we're gonna take our support brackets, same thing. You want it on the backside of this bracket towards the rear of the Jeep. Want some of these pinch weld bolts and then connect the two brackets. And then last, but not least, the forgotten driver side rear. So we've got our brackets completely installed, but we're not gonna tighten them up right now because we still have to get our step installed. Now, our steps all side specific, so we're gonna do our driver side now. The driver side is gonna have a large gap in here. And these steps are gonna wind up right in the middle of the door. Also, they have these little nut-serts in here. Then make sure that these are facing towards the inside, that way we can line them up with these holes in the bracket. So we're gonna take this step, lay it up on these brackets, we're gonna get our bolts installed. And then we'll go around and tighten everything up. The hardware we're gonna use, it has a capture lock washer and a washer on there. They're actually labeled on the bag. So we're gonna go ahead. You're gonna do two per bracket, six total on one side. We'll get all these in. We can go around and tighten everything up. So the first thing we're gonna do is tighten up our steps to the bracket. We're gonna use a 1/2-inch socket. And since these are slotted, we can actually adjust them so they tilt down. So we're gonna tilt them all the way up, and then we're gonna go across and tighten all of them down. Next, we're gonna tighten the bolts where the brackets actually mount to the body. This bracket right here. Now, they are slotted, so you can slide them in or out. And that will give you about an inch of adjustability. I'm gonna use a 1/2-inch socket to tighten those up. So after that, we're gonna tighten our support brackets. So for these top pinch weld bolts, you're gonna use a 10-millimeter wrench and socket. And then for these big bolts down here, we're gonna use the 17-millimeter socket and a 16-millimeter socket. So you can tighten these in any way you want. You just want to make sure that they are flush to the pinch weld, and then that these brackets are flush as well. We don't want big gaps in them or anything. So 16 is for the bolt head, 17 is for the nut. So now, we have the side step completely installed and tightened up. You can do the same exact thing to get that other side installed. All right. That's gonna wrap up my review in install. For more products and videos like this, check us out at extremeterrain.com.

The installation instructions were easy to read and understand and the bars were easy to install by myself. I was worried it might take another person to help hold them up while starting bolts but that wasn't the case. They are easy to hold up while installing bolts. I removed the stock rubicon rails in exchange for these and I think they look great and serve their purpose. I would highly recommend them.Helpful (0)

RedRock Side Step Bars
Exceeded my expectations for the price! Searched for over 6 months to find side step bars that were reasonably priced for the change in body style. Took 2 days to arrive and they were very easy to put on, my 70 yard old father with Parkinson’s was able to do it. Love the look and they came exactly as shown in their website. I would definitely recommend purchasing from here and will be adding to my purchases in the near future!Helpful (0)
