Hey guys, today I'm here with the RedRock 4x4 3-Inch Round Curved Side Step Bars in Stainless Steel fitting all 2018 and newer two-door JL Wranglers. So, if you've got a step right out of the factory and you're not really a fan of it, you're looking for something a little bit more functional and a little bit better looking, or you didn't even get a step and you're looking for something that again has those benefits and is gonna very nicely fill up that wheel to wheel space, this option by RedRock is gonna be a good one to take a look into. So, this is gonna provide you a large stepping surface here to very easily get in and out of your Wrangler, especially if it's lifted, and it's even gonna be great to access your roof rack if you have one mounted up to your Jeep for a little bit of roof access. It's even gonna have a little bit of a rib there on the plastic stepping pad to give you a little bit of extra traction when getting in and out of your Wrangler on those wetter days. So, not only is this just gonna be a sidestep to help you get in and out of your Jeep but this is also gonna double as some light side protection. Now, this is stainless steel material so it is gonna be a little bit lighter weight, so this will serve as some lighter protection to the trail. So, any lighter trails like fire trails, anything kicking up from the front tire or any door dings in the parking lot, this is gonna do a great job at protecting your side body and side rocker area. Now, this is not only going to do just that, but it's also gonna give you a very classic and finished and sort of sleek look to the side of your Wrangler with that mirror polished finish. Now, these are gonna be right in the middle of the road as far as price goes at roughly $540. So, in comparison to some other options on the site, this is going to be your only choice for a stainless steel mirror polished step. So, other options on the page are usually gonna be for that standard black texture powder coat finish that are gonna give a more aggressive and off-road look as to where this is gonna give a more classic and finish look. So, other options also are going to integrate different designs. As you can tell this is a very simplistic design. However, in my personal opinion, this is going to get the job done and it's gonna look very good while doing it for that person who's looking for that classic and sleek look. So, install is gonna be a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, this is not gonna take you any longer than two hours with some basic hand tools to get bolted up. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now. Tools that I used for my install were a 1/4-inch drive and 3/8-inch drive ratchet, a 10-millimeter and a 17-millimeter open-ended wrench, a 13-millimeter and 10-millimeter deep socket, a 16-millimeter shallow socket and an impact wrench. So, to kick off this install, I'd recommend to have your hardware, as well as your mounting brackets staged, they will be labeled for the passenger side and driver side front and rear. So, you just wanna make sure that they're at the right place for when you need them. And then you're gonna need something comfy to lay on and we can head underneath the jeep. So, I'm gonna start with the passenger side front main bracket, this is gonna be your longer one that's going to going to attach to the body of the Jeep. So, I'm gonna use our longer 13-millimeter bolt, a flat washer, and a lock washer and thread that into the captured nut plate in the body of our Wrangler. So, also I'm gonna snug everything up. I'm not gonna tighten anything down just yet, we wanna make sure that everything is fitting properly. You do have a little bit of adjustment within the bracket. So, we wanna make sure that everything's sitting good and looking good before we tighten anything down. So, what we can do next is attach our secondary bracket, this is gonna go into attach to the pinch weld at the front and then you're also going to attach it to that primary bracket there. So, I'm gonna grab our hardware which is gonna be the larger bolt, the nylon lock nut, and two flat washers and attach onto our primary bracket so we can bolt up our pinch weld. So, now that that's pretty much sitting there, what we can do is take our smaller hardware which is gonna be the smallest bolt we have, it's a 10-millimeter bolt, two flat washers, and a nylon lock nut, send that through the pinch weld and through our bracket. Then we can do the same thing for the other side of that secondary bracket. All right, so after that is attached, we can move on to our rear brackets. Now, we can place our step on the bracket. So, now we can attach our step to our primary bracket using the captured bolt. So, this is gonna have a captured flat washer and captured lock washer. And we're gonna thread that into the nutserts that are in the bottom of our step, there's gonna be two bolts per bracket. And we're just gonna thread those in, snug those up, and then tighten them down once we tighten all of this down as well. So, even though they're snug, we'll still be able to adjust that. Now we can do the same thing on the other side.So now we can go ahead and tighten down all of our hardware. I'm gonna start with this top body bolt using a 13-millimeter socket. Then we can move down to the primary and secondary bracket bolt, what's holding it together. I'm going to be using a 16-millimeter socket and a 17-millimeter wrench. So, the 17-millimeter wrench is gonna go on the nut side and the 16-millimeter socket or the 16-millimeter wrench, however you want to do it, is gonna go on the bolt head side. All right, so then we can move on to the top bolts, I'm gonna be using a 10-millimeter socket and 10-millimeter wrench. Same for the other side of the bracket. And then lastly we can move down to the two bolts on the bottom, connecting our bracket to our step using that same 13-millimeter socket we used to start with. Then we can repeat that process for the front brackets. So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install, make sure you like and subscribe and for more videos and products like this, always keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
