Hey guys, I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review of the RedRock 4x4 3-inch Curved Round Side Steps, fitting all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs. These are the textured black version but they also come in gloss black and stainless, and they're available for both two door and four door Wranglers. I recommend these steps for anyone looking for easier entry and exit from their stock or lifted JK. They put the stepping surface at the perfect height and have this non-skid stepping pad which is a really nice feature. It's important to remember that these are not armor. Armor focuses on strength and ground clearance, and if there is a step provided, it's more of an afterthought. These are expressly steps. So you actually lose some ground clearance, but the trade-off is that easier-to-use step. So, if you're staying on the road or on light trails without tall obstacles and you want an easier way to get in and out of your Jeep, these are the way to go. These steps are really well built. The 2 door version weighs in at about 28 pounds and the 4 door version at about 40. Again, these are really heavy duty. Both steps are made of 3-inch diameter .07 inch wall thickness tubular stainless steel. The stainless means you'll get plenty of years of life, especially if you follow the install instructions and keep these washed and waxed. The tube steps are mandrel bent for both style and strength, and they feature a non-slip stepping pad for both safety and a protective finish of the step. Speaking of the finish, the textured black version and the gloss black version both come with a heavy duty powder coated finish which is great for corrosion resistance. This is an easy bolt on installation. The steps attach to both the pinch seam and the underside of the tub, so you won't be able to run any factory ruby rail or any other step alongside. To get these bolted up you will need about two hours and some typical hand tools: some sockets, some wrenches, a set of Allen keys. I do recommend that you print the install instructions off of our website. They're much more comprehensive and have a lot more detail. They'll make this a lot easier for you. It's important to remember that these install on multiple years and body styles, so you might have a couple of parts left over in the box when you're finished, but that's nothing to worry about. The bottom line is just take your time and this is a really easy install. There are a lot of side steps on the market. Most of them are going to be really similar. They have some minor styling differences and finish differences, but at the end of the day they're all tube steps. While these RedRock ones are budget, they get the job done and they look great. So if your Jeep stays on the road and off the trails and you want to get in and out a little easier, this is a great step for you. Remember, these are not armor but they are a solid step that installs easily, all at a great price. That's my review of the RedRock 4x4 3-inch Curved Round Side Steps fitting all 2007 to 2016 Jeep JKs that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

THese steps are very nice. It's important to understand that the directions are terrible and that each bracket is stamped with where it goes. The directions don't tell you that and I didn't see it for a while.Helpful (2)
Hello, I'd just like clarification on the price of these steps, whether it's 154.99 for the pair or it's 154 per step?? Thank you
Hello, the price advertised is for the Pair.
I own a 2007 Rubicon 4 Door. I believe it has factory protection on the sides. Will these work on a Rubicon and will any modifications need to be made?
The RedRock 4x4 3 in. Curved Round Side Step will require you to remove your factory rubicon rock rails to install these steps.
How much does the entire kit weigh, including both bars, brackets, and all hardware? (Shipping weight would also suffice as a ballpark estimate.) Looking to keep the weight down my 2017 JK as much as possible.
The RedRock 4x4 3 in. Curved Round Side Steps will weigh in at 42Lbs with the step bars brackets and all required hardware/components.
Dumb question but how can I tell if I have JK or JL model . I have 2016 wrangler sport unlimited
JK models run from 2007-mid 2018. The JL was released in 2018 and is the current model.
What is the measurement of ground clearance lost by installing these?
These Step Bars will sit about 3"-4" under the pinch seam on the Jeep.
The side step bars will come as a pair. One driver side and one passenger side.
Unfortunately, these are designed specifically for 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door models and will not fit a JL.
The measurements on this item are listed as 76.5 x 10 x 8. As a significant portion of the item would be mountedunder the vehicle, these step bars would stick out about 5 inches from the vehicle.
That's seems accurate. They are not heavy at all and feel very sturdy and well constructed. I am over 250 pounds and there is no flex or sag when I stand on them. If they would not have supported me or seemed subpar I would have returned them. Well spent money for me and easy install.
No, it will not work for the JL.
We do not currently offer replacement step pads for the RedRock 4x4 3 in. Round Curved Side Step Bars. The side step bars use a universal style step pad for 3" round step bars that measure 24.25" in length.
These would hang down about the same height as the OEM side steps.
Yes, all brackets necessary for install are included.
