      Review & Installation Video

I'm Ryan with and this is my review of the Raxiom 3-inch Square LED lights for the all 1987 to 2016 Wranglers. These lights are sold individually, so make sure you order as many as you'll need for your project. These lights are for those of you who want to add some additional lighting to the front of your Jeep. Now these are flood patterns, so they're not going to be good for use on the road when you're driving with oncoming traffic, but if you want to use them when there's dark back roads and certainly for night wheeling, these are going to be a nice option. LEDs are latest and greatest in lighting technology because it produces a ton of bright light from a small package, all with a small amperage draw. And Raxiom is good at making a high quality light, all at a fairly low price. The housing for these lights is constructed of a diecast aluminum that's finished off with a black powder coat finish. Then lenses are polycarbonate that will make it scratch and breakage-resistant, and everything is sealed up and given an IP67 waterproof rating so you know you're not going to get any sort of condensation behind the lens no matter how you use your Jeep or what conditions you put it through. Each of these lights consist of four 3-watt Cree LEDs that together produce just over 1200 Lumens at a 6000K color temperature. What that means is you're going to get a really bright light that's going to match the same color as any other auxiliary LED or LED headlights that you might have on your vehicle. Right out of the box, these come with hardware you can mount them on any traditional single post mounting light tab. I personally like putting these on the front bumper, but some people will also put them on their A-Pillar Mounts. I prefer more of a spot beam for the A-Pillar Mount because you can get a little bit of bounce back from the hood with a flood pattern like this. Like most LED auxiliary lighting, these come with a two-wire pigtail, so you will have to do a little bit of wiring to get them hooked up. Like I said these come out of the box ready to mount on any traditional light tab. That means front bumpers, A-Pillars, rear bumper as reverse lights, or even a roof rack. And if you don't want to mount these on a light mount tab and you want to get a little creative, you can really put them anywhere you're comfortable drilling a hole. After you do get them mounted, you'll have to use some wiring, as I mentioned before, but thankfully, Raxiom offers an LED lighting harness, which provides a switch, a relay, a fuse, and all the wiring you need to get these set up. If you are somebody who's comfortable with wiring, you can hook these up to a factory fog [inaudible 00:02:20] harness or any number of options. The entire installation should take about two hours and that's leaving time for wiring and you won't need any specialty tools, just some sockets and some wrenches. When you're shopping for LED auxiliary lights, there are options from rock bottom pricing up to thousands of dollars and everywhere in between. What I like about Raxiom is they do a nice job of balancing both quality and cost. So you end up getting a lot of value for your dollar. The guys who are charging two and three times as much for a similar light may spend a little bit more time and money developing, say, the optics. You might get a few more feet of throw of the light down the trail, but for what most of us are using our lights for, these are more than adequate and these allow you to keep a couple of dollars in your pocket for your next modification. So if you're looking for bright LED light in a compact package, all without completely breaking the bank, I think that this is a really nice option. So that's my review of the Raxiom 3 inch square LED lights for the all 1987 to 2016 Wranglers you can find here at

Modern Lighting Package. Upgrade the auxiliary lighting on your Jeep with the Raxiom 3-inch Square LED light. This kit is versatile and can be easily mounted on the front bumper, rear bumper, A-pillar, and roof rack of your Jeep. Equipped with 4 high-intensity LED bulbs with a 30,000-hour lifespan, this kit emits a cool 6000K beam of light with 1254 Lumens light output. This 3-inch LED light kit is brighter and more powerful than ordinary aux lights equipped with incandescent or HID bulbs.

Trail-Rated Construction. The Raxiom Square LED Light Kit features a die-cast aluminum housing with polycarbonate lens for maximum toughness and durability. The housing is sprayed with a textured black powder coat to resist rust and corrosion. Carrying an IP67 rating which means it is waterproof and dustproof, this kit is designed for extreme off-road use and is tough enough to withstand the rigors of any type of terrain and weather.

Easy to Install. The Raxiom 3-inch Square LED Light is equipped with a mounting arm that makes it easy to install. You only need a basic socket set to complete the install in 30 minutes or less. A bit of wiring is required to feed power to the LED light kit. Minor drilling is required depending on the application.

Straight Ahead Visibility. The Raxiom 3" square LED lights provide spot-like visbility, meaning their beam points mostly straight ahead as opposed to a spread beam that illuminates to the sides as well. A spot beam penetrates further ahead, and in the case of a Raxiom 3" cube LED, you can expect to clearly see obstacles up to 25 feet ahead. These cube-style LEDs work best in pairs and when mounted lower down, such as on the front bumper or grille.

Application. This Raxiom 3" 4 LED Square Light is designed for universal use on all 1987-2020 Jeep Wranglers, including the YJ, TJ, JK and JL models. Sold individually; Wiring harness sold separately.

1 2013 Rubicon - MullOutdoors Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        get what you pay for...

Get ready to modify everything to make it fit. I honestly don't know where to start... The mounting bracket doesn't conform to the light at all, there's spring memory in the steel, so no matter how much you tighten the mount it will always move. I can't say if this is expected or not since no instructions of any kind are included in the box. Very poor design, one of the two lights has a mind of its own, it can't decide if it's going to work from home day to the other. I've even hard wired it to make sure there were no switching issues. It will randomly work/not work. The bodies of these lights are a cheap aluminum/alloy of some kind, they are very brittle, you must handle these with care, I expect the next hail storm to destroy these if a trip down the highway doesn't first. I'd be surprised if they survive subermsion.

5 2013 Rubicon - JackLeBas Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Quality light

I purchased 2 of these lights a few weeks back to use as reverse lights. They're super bright and much smaller than typical cubes. I mounted them by welding the brackets on to my rear bumper instead of drilling and bolting them on. I wired them to turn on and off with the stock reverse lights and also with a switch via a relay by wiring both of these inputs to the same pin on the relay. They work very well, they haven't fogged up after direct pressure washing, and the coating seems very durable. The quality is MUCH better than cheap Chinese lights. I'll probably buy another set.

        Cannot withstand a car wash

This (very expensive) single square LED light isn't waterproof at all! First time I washed my Jeep (manually, no power jets involved) it started malfunctioning. Now it flickers from time to time.

        Raxion 7.5 inch rectangular lights

Raxion 7.5 inch rectangular lights are nice looking and well-designed. I ordered them to go with a barricade light bar and although the light bar was a single Mount application, I found a way to mount 7.5 in lights and they look great.

The price is reasonable, easy to install, and look great on my black rubicon! I haven't trail experienced, look forward to do so. Installation took me a little longer, I do the extras to route wiring, secured away for future installs.

        Super bright

I upgraded my factory headlights to the Axial LED black daymaker headlights and decided to upgrade the fog lights too. These look great and are super bright. The lights themselves were easy to install. I saw a few people say they wired these directly to the OEM fog light harnesses but didn't want to risk them not working properly so I purchased the Rugged Ridge harness with a switch for two off-road fog lights.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Is it possible to hook these up to the factory foglight hookups? I had factory LED fog lights, but the aftermarket bumper I bought does not have provisions for factory lights. So I was hoping to use these and mount them to the new bumper while utilizing the factory wiring harness, meaning I don't have to do any major rewiring. Will this work or will the draw be too much and will I need a relay?

      • The Raxiom 3 in. Square LED Light would not be able to be used with the OEM wiring, and a separate switch/harness would be required to prevent issues.
