Hey guys, today I'm here with the Pedal Commander Bluetooth Throttle Response Controller fitting all 2007 and newer JK Wranglers. So if you've noticed a lack in throttle response, maybe you've added larger wheels and tires to your Wrangler and you're looking for a little bit of extra get up and go out of your Jeep, this option by Pedal Commander is going to be a great one to take a look into. So essentially what you're doing when you're installing a throttle controller is taking away or modifying that delay from when your foot hits the pedal to when your throttle body opens. So this option by Pedal Commander is going to have a number of different features integrated into the module. You're going to have four different main modes: Eco, City, Sport, and Sport Plus, which is either going to decrease with Eco, your throttle response, and then with City, Sport and Sport Plus, it will drastically increase that throttle response giving you a little bit of extra get up and go like I mentioned before, if you've added any weight to your Wrangler, you can really feel it when you add this device. Now, this is also going to have a number of different levels so you can really fine-tune this thing and it's going to have overall 36 different modes that you can choose from. Now not only is it going to have the tactile buttons and very easy to use interface on the front, but you also get to download an app because this is completely Bluetooth and control it from your phone, making it very user-friendly and very easy to use. So I would like to mention right off the bat that this is not going to be a tuner. So this is not going to increase your horsepower and torque numbers, this isn't going to change any parameters within your Wrangler's PCM. This is only going to take away or modify that delay from when your foot hits the pedal to when your throttle body opens, giving you some extra get up and go like I mentioned, it's not going to give you any performance. So if you are looking for some gains, if you are looking to change the parameters in your Wrangler's PCM, then I would recommend checking out some tuner options. But if you're only looking for some extra throttle response out of your Jeep, then this is going to be a great option to take a look into. So this is going to be a little bit more expensive than the average throttle response controller at roughly $300. So when you take a look at all of the throttle response controllers on the page, this is not going to be the most cost-effective choice. However, this is going to give you some of the most features in comparison to those other choices. So this is obviously going to come with Bluetooth. It's going to be very user-friendly, you do get tactile buttons and a couple of them on the front of this actual device and it is very easy to install. Now in comparison to some other options, some may only come with a dial that you turn up and down, which is good for fine-tuning but you can't really see where you're at as far as performance goes or as far as your throttle response setting goes or some even just come with a button that you have to hit a couple of times and it will light up in the different modes. This is very easy to use in comparison to those as well as the Bluetooth feature that a lot of those other choices don't come with. So I think that for the $300 you are really getting what you pay for out of this whole kit. So install is going to be very easy at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You're not going to need any tools to install this thing and you're probably going to need 15 minutes worth of your time. So speaking of the install, let's jump into that now. So this install is going to be a little bit difficult to see just because we have to plug this throttle controller into the top wiring harness on top of our throttle pedal. Now a basic overview of what we're going to do, we have to plug this in between our throttle pedal control wiring harness. So this part is going to plug into the top of your gas pedal and then the other side is going to plug into the wiring harness that would plug into the top of your gas pedal, then we'll be able to control our throttle from this device. So what I'm going to do first is drop these wires down behind our steering wheel so they're going to clean up a little bit nicer than if we were to run it directly. So right underneath the steering wheel, you're going to have a little opening and we can just drop them down on through. I find this a little bit easier than pulling the wires up just because of gravity. So what we can do is just pull the plugs through and we'll secure the pedal controller module in just a second. So I'm just going to lay that over the steering wheel. So right at the top of your gas pedal, you're going to have this plug. What we're going to do is disconnect that then we can plug the female side on top of the gas pedal. So what we can do now is mount up our module. Now you are provided with some Velcro in the kit. I already put ours on the back of the Pedal Commander. So right above our speaker is a perfect place to mount this up. That's exactly what I'm going to do. And then you also get a couple zip ties in the kit where you can clean up some of that wiring. But that's it for the install and now we can go through all the features. So once you turn your Jeep on or even have your accessory on, what you can do is power up your Pedal Commander. Now this is Bluetooth, but you don't necessarily have to hook it up to Bluetooth, you do have tactile buttons on the front of this. Now, when you first turn it on, it's going to put you into City. So this is going to be a little bit more responsive than stock but it's not going to be anything crazy. So this is going to help you get a little bit more throttle response when you are in the City. And what you can do is increase that down at the bottom or decrease that. So you can hit the plus sign if you want a little bit more and then you can hit the minus sign to take a little bit away and it will even show you whether you are taking away by the little red light or if you're staying in the middle. So you are able to fine-tune this wherever you want it and then you can hit the button again if you want to go out of City and go into Sport. So Sport is going to add a little bit more aggressiveness to the throttle response increase. Now it is going to be a decent jump over City but if you're looking for something really aggressive for something like the track or if you're looking to do any spirited driving, you can put it into Sport Plus. Now, this is going to be a big jump and actually be your maximum throttle response. So you are going to feel a lot more out of Sport Plus mode than you will out of the standard Sport. So if you hold down the power button, it will put you in Eco. So this is actually slower than or less responsive than the factory setting for your throttle response. So if you're looking to save a little bit on gas, Eco is where you're going to want to be at. And then if you keep hitting that button, it will eventually turn the Pedal Commander off. Now what you can do is go through all of those modes and fine-tune them but you can also use your phone as a controller as well instead of using the tactile buttons. So once you download the Pedal Commander app off of the App Store and open it up, it's going to leave you with a menu over on the side. Now you can choose the mode but you have to connect your device first. So what we're going to do is connect our device. Now, I have one for the 2014 JK that we're working on and we're going to go ahead and connect it. So now it's going to prompt you to the main screen. And now that we're connected, we can go ahead and turn our device on and select what mode. So it's automatically going to throw you in City which is going to be a little bit more responsive than your stock. You can go into Sport, you can go into Sport Plus, and then you can go into Eco which it is going to prompt you to engage just because it will be heavily decreased, so we can go ahead and change it into that. And then you can go up and down within that with the plus and minus button. It may be a little bit easier to do it in the City or the Sport or Sport Plus mode rather than Eco. Once you're finished with it, you can turn it off and you're all set to go. So that's going to wrap it up for my review and install.
