      Description

Hybrid Trail Power. Clawing their way forward through light or medium mud or clambering over moderately challenging rocks, Nitto 35x12.50R20 Ridge Grappler Tires provide a mix of all-terrain and mud-terrain capability to your 1987-2024 Wrangler. The alternating groove pattern and the aggressive wraparound sidewall blocks give a strong performance in rock-crawling, while the reinforced sidewall resists the tearing, chipping, or punctures that afflict weaker tires in a technical rock pile.

Innovative Tread Design. Lateral Z-voids have a zigzag pattern to bring extra lengths of biting edge into play, and, along with scoop-style shoulder lugs, help with mudding or driving in other loose substances. The Ridge Grappler has good self-cleaning power to get rid of mud before it cakes, not much short of a mud-terrain.

Reinforced for Strength. A 3,640 lb maximum load at 80 psi inflation gives the 35x12.50R20 Ridge Grappler towing capacity and to spare, wedded to flex-resistant architecture further strengthened by reinforced block foundations throughout. The Ridge Grappler is made to run well on the road between off-road expeditions, too, with a tread pitch pattern that cuts noise to mild levels and creates a ride of almost stock comfort.

Application. The Nitto 35x12.50R20 Ridge Grappler Tire can be used successfully on all 1987-2024 Jeep Wranglers of the YJ, TJ, and JK generations.

What is the best gear ratio to run for larger tires? When you increase the diameter of your tires, your vehicle's engine has to work harder to turn them. Naturally, this will lead to increased fuel consumption and reduced performance. So, when upgrading to a set of larger tires you should re-gear your rig to regain this lost acceleration, performance and fuel economy.

Find your original tire size and gear ratio using the chart listed below, the intersection should be your approximate RPMs at 65 MPH. Then find your new tire size and follow it across to the closest RPM to your original tires, this will be your gear ratio choice.

This chart is based on driving at 65 MPH with a 1:1 gear ratio and a manual transmission in 4th gear. Please note if your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission your RPMs will be higher due to normal transmission and the torque converter slippage. In overdrive your RPMs will be approximately 15% to 30% less than indicated.
