Hey, guys. It's Joe from ExtremeTerrain. In this video, we're gonna be going over the N-Fab Predator ProNerf Side Step Bars in Textured Black fitting all '05 and newer Tacoma Double Cabs. This is gonna be the perfect option for any Tacoma owner out there that's looking to pay a little bit extra to get a high-quality USA made Nerf bar. It's also gonna be for the Tacoma owner that's looking to trade in a little bit of clearance in order to get one of the easiest ways in and out of your Tacoma. This guy right here is made out of a fully welded one-piece aluminum, which makes the install really, really easy, there's no mounting brackets to mess around with. On top of that, the aluminum is lightweight and durable at the same time. It's finished in a nice textured black powder coating, which is the perfect compliment for the blackout look on our '16 Tacoma here. The big draw for the Predator Pro, it's gonna be these dropdown hoops steps. Now, these are gonna make it even easier than the standard sized step bar to get in and out of your Tacoma. They give you a solid three inches of stepping area here, you have some non-slip texture on there, and the N-Fab logo right in the middle. Now, there is a little bit of tradeoff to be had here in terms of ground clearance. Something like this, it's obviously gonna steal a little bit of break-over angle, a little bit of clearance overall. If you're the daily driver, you're gonna be just fine. There's still plenty of clearance left. Even if your Tacoma has a little bit of a lift on it, you might be willing to trade some of that clearance for an easier way in and out. If you are that heavy-duty off-roader type, you definitely wanna consider that when shopping for side step bars.Next up, let's talk a little bit about pricing. These are gonna be a tiny bit more toward the expensive side, not the most expensive side step bar on the site, but these are USA made and backed by a five-year warranty. You can expect to pay around 550 bucks for the pair if you're looking to pick up a set of these. Before we move on to the install here, one thing I do wanna make a quick note of, we're working with a Double Cab long cab Tacoma. If you have the short cab, the access cab, there is a version of these available for you. The install is going to differ slightly but this is extremely easy. You'll get the gist of how it's done in just a second when we show you that. Like I said, just about as easy as it gets. Two pre-threaded holes underneath of here. The mounting brackets are welded onto the sidestep bar itself. One out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Should take you at most an hour to get both sides done. So, without any further ado, let me show you what tools you might need and how it's done.Tools you'll need for this install will include a 12-millimeter socket, decent extension, and something to spin the socket with. I'm using an electric ratchet.Like I said, this install is gonna be pretty much as easy as it gets. Now, you can see the side step, you can see that the mounting brackets are actually already welded on, so there's no hardware in between the two. All you have to do is hold this side step up, use the 12-millimeter bolts that come in the kit and thread them right into the Tacoma that already has the holes for these mounting brackets all ready to go. We're gonna crawl underneath, use our trusty 12-millimeter socket and electric ratchet to do so.So, right here, this is the middle position. Right behind the pinch weld, you're gonna see two threaded holes. Usually, these do have plastic filler caps in them. If yours does, go ahead and pry them out with a flathead screwdriver. Once you do, it's gonna be just as simple as you guys can imagine. Just gonna lift the step up and be careful not to let it fall on you. And then use the hardware in the kit to get it started. Those holes are slotted, so you get a little bit of left to right. We're gonna bolt this down right in the middleSo, this is the rear position. I already have the bolts started. You're gonna do the same thing. Round them down with a 12-millimeter socket. And then we can wrap things up at the front. Now, the front bracket is gonna look a little bit different. You can see the bolts are a little bit more spread out here. This is how you tell one side from the other. Again, this spread out bracket is gonna be toward the front, but it's the same process, two 12-millimeter bolts into the threaded holes. You might need a bit of an extension like this one to get at these. Now, the install is gonna be the same exact process on the other side. Like I said earlier, those holes are slotted, so if you do need to loosen that up a little bit and make some adjustments, you could absolutely do so.But that's gonna do it for my review and install of the N-Fab Predator ProNerf Side Step Bars in Textured Black fitting all '05 and newer Tacoma Double Cabs. As always, thank you for watching. Keep it right here at ExtremeTerrain for all things Tacoma.
