Review & Install Video
I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the Mopar Tail Light Guards, fitting all 2007 and up JKs. Today we're gonna talk through the installation of these tail light guards, which is a very simple one out of three wrench install. You're gonna be able to complete this in about 15 minutes in your driveway with just a screwdriver. But we'll talk more about that installation in just a second. These are for those of you who are looking for a tail light guard, and you want something that's made by Mopar, specifically for your Jeep. These are going to be of a similar design and quality as a lot of the other aftermarket tail light guards that are out there. However, these are gonna say Jeep on them even though it is pretty small, down on the side there. If it is important to you that these are a piece that comes directly from Mopar, then this is gonna be a nice option. No matter how strong and how well built a tail light guard like this is, it's not going to provide a ton of protection to your tail lights. This is mostly something that's going to change up the look of your Jeep, a bit, and is more of an aesthetic mod, than something that's actually going to protect. In fact, these mount directly onto the plastic of the tail light itself, so anything that comes in contact with the guard is going to transfer that impact directly into the plastic and is probably still going to end up cracking the light. Now, there are some tail light guards that are more of a cage that go around the light completely and mount to the body, however, if you have something that's really well built, and you take a good smack to that light guard, instead of cracking your fairly inexpensive light, you're going to dent your much more expensive-to-repair tub. So, in my opinion, if you're looking for a tail light guard, you want something that's going to change the look of your Jeep, this design is going to be a better option. This install is going to be a very simple 1 out of 3 wrench install, that shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes to complete. All you'll need is a screwdriver to remove the four screws that are around your tail light. Now, when you do this, make sure that nothing falls out. The whole tail light will be able to be removed from the tub at this point, and the lens is also going to be loosened up, so just make sure everything stays where it is. Then you'll put your guard over top of your light, reuse two of the factory screws and two of the included screws, to attach everything together. The two screws that come are a little bit longer to make sure that you have the length you need for your light guard. After that, you're finished. There's nothing to this, anyone can do this in their driveway in no time at all. These come in at right around $135, and, honestly, it's just because they're Mopar and because they say Jeep on them. If you like having all of your parts directly from the manufacturer, this is gonna be a great option. So if you're looking for a tail light guard to change up the look of your Jeep, either to use independently or as a kit of light guards, this is going to be a nice option for you.So that's my review of the Mopar Tail Light Guards, fitting all 2007 and up JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com
