Why Pick MBRP for Your Wrangler? Wrangler owners expect a lot from their ride. Yet many exhaust manufacturer's figure they can simply pack the same generic muffler into their Jeep kits that they put on a Civic. At MBRP we designed our Jeep JK/TJ muffler to match the very real demands off-roaders have for their rigs. After many dyno runs with various muffler designs, combined with real world testing, we were able to pull 9 RWHP and 15ft/lbs out of the 3.8L V6. The unique chambered design of the muffler provides a pleasingly rich rumble at idle that builds to a civilized growl at driving speeds and a throaty roar when you push the throttle down. Unlike fiber packed straight through mufflers our chambered design can handle getting wet. Here at MBRP, we put a lot of thought into the exhaust system. The muffler remains to the rear to avoid having to reposition the evaporation canister. We tucked the muffler up as high as possible in order to provide maximum clearance while keeping it in the factory location. The heavy 16 gauge steel construction is tough enough to stand up to anything that the road, or off road, can dish out. The mirror polished T304 stainless steel tip can be easily removed for off road adventures and replaced for driving around town.

The Best Systems Start With the Best Materials Installer Series from MBRP brings you the best of both worlds. Designed and constructed to the exact same specifications as MBRP's Pro Series you can expect the same improvements in torque and horsepower and the same awesome sound as our top of the line products. The difference is the heavy duty aluminized steel construction. You save money without compromising on performance. MBRP Installer Series truly is superior to other aluminized exhaust products on the market. Heavy sixteen gauge steel is one reason. Another is that our systems have a thick protective coating of aluminum silica on the seams - an area that is often left exposed to rust. We are so certain of our Installer Series products that we back them with an industry leading 3 Year Warranty.

Built to Perform You made an investment in your Jeep and would never consider less than the finest aftermarket parts for it. Your MBRP performance exhaust is designed to make sure that is what you get. Aside from a stylish classic look, you can count on your MBRP cat back system to give your Jeep a rich, mellow sound. And thanks to the fully mandrel bent pipes, MBRP performance muffler and minimal bend degree angle design you can count on squeezing every ounce of torque and horsepower your engine has to offer.

The Premium Difference In an industry with its share of "commodity" exhaust products MBRP stands apart as a manufacturer of truly quality performance exhaust systems. You can see that in the way your system is packaged, the thought that goes into the design of every component, the consistent quality of the overall product and of course, the sound. The premium difference does not end there. Through our in house customer service team as well as the professionals who distribute and install our products you can count on your MBRP experience to be an enjoyable one.

Easy Installation MBRP systems are as much fun to install as to drive with on your Jeep. Bolt-on, no weld design makes installing this on your Jeep without hassle - an easy no hassle one to two hour project. Everything is direct fit to the OEM hangers and you get all the clamps and parts you will need, all in one box.

Sound & Style Performance is one thing but at MBRP we believe that appearance and sound is just as important. Every MBRP performance exhaust system has been specifically tuned to get the optimal sound from your vehicle. With our MBRP brand etched on the tips and our unmistakable styling, there's no question that you have the hottest exhaust on the road - MBRP.

Review from MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust (00-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Excluding Unlimited)

            Sounds Great

Great sounding exhaust. Makes to 4.0 sound tough! Installation was a little tricky. Depending on rust, you may have to drop the skid plate to make this happen, and that is a huge pain - watch some videos for proper technique. Once installed - very pleased.

            Fits perfect.

2002 Wrangler. FYI. The bolts connecting to catalytic converters to muffler is nearly impossible to remove without dropping the skid plate. The video makes it look easy to remove the 2 bolts with a socket extension, but it is not easy. Careful when dropping the skid plate because then drive shaft will also drop. I used jacks to hold the driveshaft up when dropping the skid plate. Then, no problem at all with the install.

            Good replacement

Gave it a deeper sound but not too loud. Definitely happy for the price. Was hoping for how my CJ used to sound. the install went well. Probably 45 minutes. Remember not to tighten muffler until you have everything lined up. I had to lower one side of my skid plate with trans supported by jack.

            WOW!

After a knock developed in the exhaust system I decided to replace both the muffler and catalytic converter. Glad I did as after taking them apart and cutting them open I found 6 pieces of catalyst floating around in both the converter section and the the muffler. That explained the knocking and also the intermittant loss of power as the chunks would sometimes get into the pipes in the muffler chamber. After replacing both sections my old TJ runs and sounds like new! My top end is back. It has never run better! The exhaust tip also looks great and changes the tone to a slightly lower note. Great sound but still quiet. I could not be happier! Side Note: Extreme Terrain has been great to deal with, I have ordered several items for my jeep and their customer support is excellent!

            Purrrrfecto

Installed on my 06 TJ and along with new cat converter set up from Summit Racing and my TJ is sounding and running perfectly now. Had O2 sensor check engine light for over a year now and its officially gone! Took approx. 2.5 hrs to get old rusty cat and muffler off due to rusted hard to reach bolts, but had it all back together in 1hr. Very pleased with my purchase.

Review from MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust (04-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited)

            Decent upgrade for the money!!

My 05 LJ had both rear exhaust hangers dangling and slapping on my frame every time I went over a bump. I really didn’t feel like spending $4-600 on a high quality cat back for my weekend warrior rig. All in all pretty impressed with being able to freshen up the look under my LJ for around $200. I had my local shop throw it in for $50. It came with all the necessary hardware to mount. It seemed easy enough to do myself but I didn’t have the tools or time to get to it. The exhaust note is just a tiny bit louder than stock. I bought it more for the aesthetics of cleaning up my old rusted exhaust but am impressed with the quality and price.

Review from MBRP Black Series Cat-Back Exhaust (00-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ, Excluding Unlimited)

            MUCH BETTER!

I had previously had a flow master exhaust installed on my 2005 TJ for about 6 years until it rusted out and the welds snapped. I ordered this exhaust, 1-day shipped it, and had it installed that next day. It is so much better! My flow master was pretty obnoxious (as in I wake up the neighbors at 3 am when I go to work). The MBRP exhaust has that deep, throaty sound when in idle and with light acceleration and gets quite a bit louder/a bit more high pitched when you hammer down. Of course it’s not going to make my straight 6 sound like a big block but it gives it a nice sound versus the stock, whisper quiet exhaust. She seems to have a bit more get-up-and-go as well. Well worth the money! It doesn’t come with all new mounting brackets though which I needed.
