    Review & Install Video

This Magnaflow Rockcrawler exhaust is for those of you with the 2012 and up two-door JK that are looking to change up the sound of your Jeep, as well as provide some additional clearance and have less tubing underneath the ride that can get banged up when you're on the rocks. I'm going to give this a one out of three wrenches. All you're going to need to do is remove your factory exhaust system and bolt this one in place. There's no cutting, there's no welding, there's nothing difficult about this install. Give yourself around two hours to get this installed, maybe a little bit less if you don't have any rust on your JK. This system will replace both the factory resonator and the factory muffler with just one smaller bullet-style muffler. So, again, have some additional clearance and tuck up everything out of the way so you have less of a chance of bashing these things on the rocks. As with any exhaust system, this is going to open up your engine a little bit, let it breathe a little bit better. So you might get a little bit better throttle response, a little better MPG, but this is really going to be about the sound. And because this eliminates both the factory resonator and muffler in place of just one smaller muffler, this is going to be one of the louder system on the market. Now, if it had less of a tailpipe dumped in front of the axle, it would be even louder. And this tailpipe system does mellow things out just a little bit. But it gives it a really nice sound, something that I really like. So, again, this is going to replace a couple of components in place of one bullet-style muffler here and you are going to have all of the piping to have your outlet behind the rear axle. The Off-Road Pro System from Magnaflow does dump in front of the axle, that is going to be a little louder and eliminate even more piping. This system overall is by a company that we all know, Magnaflow. They've been making exhausts for a lot time. They make a really high quality product. This is going to be a stainless exhaust system. Everything fits together really well. You can tell by the bends, by the welds, that this is a very well-built system out of a very high quality material. But all of that also means it's going to be a little bit more expensive that some of the others on the market. If you have the budget for it, you'll like the way this sounds. I think it's going to be a nice option. As far as the install goes, I am going to give this a one out of three wrenches. The most difficult thing you're going to run into is going to be any sort of rust that you might have on that factory exhaust system. So I definitely recommend spraying all of the clamps, all of the nuts, bolts, and even the hangers with a good penetrating oil well before you get started with this installation. It's going to make it that much easier to take everything apart. So you can start from the back removing your muffle, then removing the rest of the piping and resonator from the catalytic converter collectors all the way back. Get everything out of the way. Then when installing this system, you're going to actually start at the front by the cats, installing this small extension pipe here, then the muffler, then your over-axle pipe, and finally your outlet tailpipe section. This system does come with all the clamps that you're going to need to get it installed on the Jeep.Give yourself around two hours to get this installed, maybe a little bit less if you don't have any rust on your JK. And with some traditional hand tools, you can get this done in your driveway. With Magnaflow you are going to be paying a little bit more for quality of materials and quality of construction. And this system comes in at right around $460, which is going to be the higher end of the price range for an exhaust system like this. But, again, I think it gives you really great sound, it gives you functionality of having less piping, less stuff to get banged up on the trail. So if you're looking for something that you can take off road, give you some sound, I think that this is a really nice option. And it's a very high build quality as long as you have the budget for it.So if you're looking for more growl and to have less stuff to get banged up on the rocks, I definitely recommend taking a look at this Magnaflow Rockcrawler exhaust system for your 2012 and up JK that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Can I use the stock bumper with this exhaust? I've heard that the exhaust might damage the factory bumper by melting it or causing heat damage and I need to change my rear bumper to a metal one to use this exhaust. Is it true?

Magnaflow Rock Crawler Cat Back Exhaust

Received it fairly fast giving that it came from California all the way to Ohio (5 days) and just had the time to install it today. Just as everyone says getting the old exhaust off was a major pain, about an hour, an adult beverage and a few choice words but nothing that grinder and a cut off wheel couldn't handle....... on to the install.....super easy, took about 20 minutes total and I really like the sound. Nothing ricey just a nice lower tone and on the highway it actually is pretty quiet. So overall I would highly recommend this Magnaflow exhaust to all JK owners

      Better than stock

Install was easy although it doesn't quite fit correctly. keeping it straight and from rubbing was next to impossible. Need to get some rubber shims. The note sounds more like a car than a truck. I can see where people are comparing it to a "ricer" I don't think it is as bad as that. should deepen after it gets some miles on it. (Removing Stock exhaust is where you will spend most of your time. clamps are tac welded. lots of rust. 2012 )

      Bad Fit

The exhaust did not fit properly on a 2017 JK 2 door. Two hanger points had to be cut then re-welded in order for the exhaust to fit. Without the re-welds, the exhaust resonator hit the frame and the exhaust tip hit the rear frame. Horrendous build quality. The install cost doubled due to the fitment issue.

      Bad system

This exhaust system will not fit a 2015 JK without banging against the frame in 2 places. Very disappointed in Magnaflow for the design. I did replace it with a Magnaflow system with the muffler in the back. Cost me almost $500.00 for the screwed up system.

Good Exhaust for the right person

This install took right around 3hrs. This exhaust cleans up the underneath and greatly increases the sound. Some might even say it is to loud for them. However I find it just right. The exhaust itself is very well made and the directions are very clear. The only reason this took me so long to install is due to 8 years of rust and corrosion. Make it easy on yourself and have a vehicle lift and a rotary cutter on hand along with air tools. Also you might want to consider on buying some heavy duty rubber to put between the frame rails since the exhuast lays against it to reduce noise vibration. Other than that this exhaust is fantastic and highly recommend it.

      No complaints at all!

High clearance, really great sound on highways and at low speeds. Done some light off-roading since having the magnaflow rockcrawler exhaust installed. Couldn't be happier, coming off of ledges there is no contact anywhere on the exhaust so it does what exactly what it was designed for. Noticed a slight power kick as well and I haven't been loosing gas as quick so overall I'd say it lived up to what it was meant for! I also can't help but crack a smile every time I start up the jeep!

Perfectly tucked but sounds like Honda

I love Magnaflow and have used there exhaust on everything from hot rods to mustangs and always loved the tone and fit. I don’t know if it is the Penstar V-6 or the muffler, but my Rubicon sounds like a ricey Honda driven by a 16 year old. I have since thrown away the muffler this kit came with and replaced it with a RIPP muffler and it sounds great.

      Do don't buy

I purchased this exhaust for my Jk unlimited wranger. was very disappointed in the sound of it. It sounds like a suped up honda now. loved magnaflow in the past , but i would go with the Black Series performance exhaust if i could do it over again.

      Awful Exhaust Tone

Why Magnaflow did not include a resonator is beyond me. It sounds like I'm riding a motorcycle down the street now. I'm all for a lower, little more manly exhaust sound (part of the reason I went with the product, on top of replacing the stock garbage can muffler), but what I got is just terrible. Heading to a muffler shop this weekend to see if they can add a resonator. I've purchased Magnaflow systems in the past...this will be the last time.

      Love this Exhaust!

I decided to go with the Magnaflow over the competition due to reputation. I am very happy with the performance as well as sound of the new MF muffler. Entire unit tucks up nicely behind the rear bumper as it adds more clearance by getting rid of the big bulky OE muffler. Highly recommended!

      Nice exhaust for the money....

Love the look, the sound and the ease of installation. Keeps pipe and everything above the frame height and actually tucks the exhaust tip above my after market Rock Hard 4X4 rear bumper. The bumper will hit and drag before the exhaust tip. Sound is incredible. Not too load as a jeep with an exhaust leak, but just enough. Mine is a manual and sounds great shifting and downshifting. Would recommend this product to anyone wanting a little better than factory sound......
