    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Pypes Street Pro dual outlet catback exhaust, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This system's available for both the two door and the four door body styles and it's available with a black muffler and tips or a silver muffler with polished tips. This is for those of you who want a little bit more volume and a little lower tone out of your exhaust and also want a bit more of a visual impact from having a dual outlet exhaust with the optional black muffler and tips. Now, the sound that comes out of your exhaust is definitely going to depend on what year your Jeep is, because that will determine whether you have the 3.8 liter or the 3.6 liter. But, no matter which engine you have, getting rid of the resonator with this catback system will definitely change the sound of your exhaust. Pypes does a really nice job of putting together a complete kit all at a really reasonable price. This system is built from two and a half inch 304 stainless pipe that is mandrel bent, however I wouldn't expect to get a ton more flow out of this system, because there is one area that it gets crushed down a good bit to provide clearance for installation. The fact that this is 304 stainless means it's going to hold up pretty well, however it is going to be a little bit more susceptible to surface rust than say, a 409 system that would be more expensive. Because this is designed specifically for your two or four door Wrangler, it'll fit right out of the box without the need to cut any of the piping. This will include all of the hangers, hardware and clamps necessary to get it installed, and the muffler that's included is the Street Pro dual outlet muffler in your choice of black or silver with matching tips. Now if you're somebody who goes offroad a lot and you want a little bit more exhaust volume and a lower note, maybe you don't want to go with this system because you do have a lot of extra piping with the dual outlet exhaust out back that can just get crushed or hung up on different trail obstacles. If you're somebody who goes offroad a lot but you want the benefits of a catback system, I would recommend taking a look at Pypes' high clearance system. Now like with any exhaust work, how quickly and easily things go will definitely depend on how rusty your factory system is. I would recommend soaking all of your factory clamps and bolts in a good penetrating oil well before you get started with this job. Once you get your factory system removed, which is a pretty easy process, especially if you have a large pry bar on hand to remove those factory rubber hangers, then you can get to installing your new system. You will start from the front with your new midpipe, then install the tail pipe and your muffler and tips. Once you have everything installed, you can work your way back through, tightening all of the clamps and making sure you have everything positioned exactly where you want it. The whole process could take as little as an hour if your factory system isn't that rusty or if you do a good job lubricating everything ahead of time. And you won't need any specialty tools, just a socket set and a good pry bar for those hangers. This system is really priced in the middle of the road for comparable catback systems that have a dual outlet exhaust, and if you're judging the value and the price of this system off of how straight and consistent the welds are or how good a job they did cleaning up the splatter before they powder coated the muffler, maybe you wouldn't put this at the top of the list. But, if you're looking to save a couple of dollars and you want a system that is complete and installs easily, I think this is a really nice way to go. So if you're looking for an exhaust system to give you that lower, louder exhaust note, in part by removing that factory resonator for those of you with newer Jeeps, this is a really nice system that's moderately priced, really complete and easy to install. So that's my review of the Pypes Street Pro dual outlet catback exhaust fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

      Sounds amazing

I looked around at all the the different exhausts and finally settled for this one and I’m glad I did. This is exhaust is awesome! One of the best upgrades I have done to my Jeep. It sounds amazing. It honestly sounds like a V8 swap. Couldn’t of asked for a better exhaust

      Awesome system for the money

Instructions were terrible, need more tools then they tell you. However once you get it on the system is awesome. Totally transforms the jeep. Exhaust sounds super loud almost like a V8.

Best sounding exhaust and great price!!

This exhaust sounds amazing. People have told me it sounds like a V8, which it definitely does. Brings out the “dark side” of our JKs and install was extremely easy. Best deal and best sound on the market hands down.

      So so

Looks great and sounds good while 2007 Jk is idle. However, when accelerating it sounds like a tricked out Honda. Was not what I was looking for but if you like the rice burner sound it's for you.

      Worth it

Honestly, couldn't be happier with the packaging and installation. I'm an amateur, and I have no skills in mechanics so install took about an hour. Worst part was removing the old factory exhaust off my 2014 Wrangler JK 2 Door. Other than that it was simple putting up the new exhaust. The sound is great! Deep sound and the dual outlet makes my Jeep look amazing, love looking at it. Only complaint I have is the sound you hear in the cabin. On the highway its super low when coasting and the resonance could get to you, a little. Highly recommended for the price!

      Very good quality

After owning my 2008 jk sense it was new I knew it was missing something. I wanted my jeep to sound mean, so I ended up looking at American muscle car exhausts and found pypes. After reading the comments that kept saying "you need earplugs" or "it's too loud" I knew I had to order it. I bought the exhaust. As soon as it came in I installed it. The hardest part of installation had to be getting the old exhaust off. After I got it off it was smooth sailing. It took about 3 hours in total from opening the box to starting the jeep.

      OK for the money

This set is OK for the money, but the 3 things that I had "wrong" with mine are so simple to fix, I can't believe Pypes hasn't corrected them. 1. The midpipe is just barely long enough to complete assembly. It should definitely be 2 or 3 inches longer!!! (yes, 3 exclamation points) 2. the muffler itself doesn't hang level. Driver's side exhaust tip is just about touching the bumper, the passenger side hangs 1/2 inch lower (which seems like the right height) 3. The bolt/screw head on the tip is BIG. Not only does it deviate from the 15mm that the entire exhaust (OEM included0 use for the clamps, but the bolt head is so large, it almost touches the body of the tip itself. Therefore, when/if you can get a socket on it to tighten it up, it ends up scratching the powder coat. SOUNDS GREAT... really does, but these quality control issues are just unforgivable. It's almost like Pypes never actually installed one in real life, or they would have caught all this. Install time... 2 hours.

      Great sound and surprising power

I bought this exhaust because I wanted to give my Jeep a little extra power and I wasn't really expecting much but the first drive after installation was pretty awesome! Installation itself wasn't to bad, about 3 hours total and that was really only that because of the rubber hangers and the bolt that holds the exhaust to the headers. That one bolt took nearly a half hour and was near impossible to get to but after it was taken off everything started to go smoothly. As for the sound I is an incredible increase from the stock and sounds like a good V8. It sounds best at 1500 and 2500RPMs, 2000 is the loudest and at higher speeds you'll probably want some earplugs lol. Nevertheless it's a good solid exhaust and I would definitely recommend it.

      V8 Swap without the V8

Bolted on in about 30 minutes. Exhaust note sounds incredible! Closest to a V8 sound you'll get without a swap.
