I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the Magnaflow Offroad Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust, fitting all 2007 to 2017 JKs.Now, there are two different versions of this exhaust: one for those of you with the 3.6, and one for those of you with the 3.8-liter. And there is, of course, a version for those of you with the two-door and the four-door unlimited JK. So, make sure you get the right exhaust for your Jeep. Today we're going to talk about the way this exhaust sounds and how to get it installed. This exhaust system is going to be for those of you who want a lot more volume and a lower note out of your Jeep. Now, nothing is going to make your V6 sound like your V8, but a nice short exhaust system like this that gets rid of the factory resonator and muffler, replacing it with one straight flow-through muffler will definitely give you a lot more sound. And the fact that you have fewer components and a lot less piping means there's a lot less to crush when you're in an off-road scenario. Now, this is mostly for you guys who are doing a lot of off-roading and want the benefits of a high clearance exhaust that's tucked up out of the way, however, if you just want the sound and the volume, this system can be run in an on road Jeep as well. This cat-back system is made of stainless steel, so it's going to hold up pretty well to rust and corrosion, and it's going to last a good long time. As you can see, this does replace everything from the cat back on the Jeep. It's going to replace your factory resonator and your factory muffler, and it is a lot shorter than that factory exhaust system. In fact, the tip to this system dumps in front of the rear axle instead of behind it all the way at the rear of the Jeep. So, everything from the fact that you're getting rid of the factory resonator and muffler for one muffler, the fact that it's a much shorter pipe, all of these lead to a much louder and more aggressive sound. This system will install on your Jeep very easily. That installation process begins by removing your factory exhaust system, which is done by removing a couple of clamps and popping a couple of factory rubber exhaust hangers loose. Once you have that factory exhaust removed, you can go ahead and install the new one, leaving all of your clamps loose until you have everything lined up and in those factory hangers, then going back and tightening up all of the included clamps. Now, your factory exhaust can get very rusty, so I would recommend spraying those clamps well ahead of time, and also spraying your factory rubber hangers to make them easier to remove. That's the only part that can add time to your installation, is rust or having some hangers that just won't budge. Regardless, the whole installation shouldn't take you more than an hour, and you won't need any specialty tools, just some traditional hand tools. This system is priced right around the middle of the road for a cat-back system. Magnaflow's been around for a long time and they have a good name in exhausts. They make a high-quality component that is going to definitely give you some more exhaust sound and a lower exhaust note. So, if you're looking for a high-quality system and you have the budget, I think this is a great option. So, whether you're looking to replace your factory exhaust system that was smashed on the rocks, one that just rusted out, or you're just replacing your system to get some more sound and a lower exhaust note, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this system. So, that's my review of the Magnaflow Offroad Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust, fitting all 2007 to 2017 JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Will there be any issues passing emissions with this Exhaust?
Hello, you shouldn't have any issues passing emissions with this Exhaust.
Other systems state the grade of stainless steel, Magnaflow does not. Do you know what grade stainless?
Magnaflow has confirmed that the grades of stainless steel used for all of their products are the same, including the types used for the Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System. The piping and body of their systems use a 400-grade stainless steel. The hardware and tips use a 304-grade stainless steel.
Will this fit an '08 two door?
This Magnaflow Off-Road Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust is only intended for installation on the 12'-18' Wrangler JK 2 Doors. This will not properly fit your 08' JK wrangler due to fitment and clearance issues.
Does this have an impact on MPG at all?
No, this cat-back shouldn't affect your fuel economy at all.
im a volunteer fire fighter and often have to respond to situations in the middle of night. i just wanna know how loud this really is/ will it wake up the neighbors. i dont wanna be "that guy"
The Magnaflow Off-Road Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust will be a fairly loud exhaust, due to both the free flowing muffler included, and the lack of a full tailpipe. The "dump" style exit will increase exhaust volume not having to go through a tailpipe curving over the axle, and the included pro series muffler is the most aggressive Magnaflow offers in a cat back system.
The Magnaflow OffRoad Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust will weigh in at 23Lbs. Unfortunately we do not have a weight listing for the stock exhaust.
Yes, the Magnaflow OffRoad Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust helps cut and tuck up the exhaust length to prevent damage when off roading.
The Magnaflow OffRoad Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust (12-17 Wrangler JK 4 Door) like other exhausts blow out and does not suck in, normally, so the length should not be a problem. The only problem is if you stall while the pipe is submerged water can get sucked in which will happen with any exhaust.

Review from Magnaflow Off-Road Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust (07-11 Jeep Wrangler JK 4 Door)
Excellent
Simple installation, quality was top notch and great sound not as loud as a motorcycle or a mustang's aftermarket exhaust but that's fine since the jeep isnt a race car.

Great muffler for the trail. Hides up under my Jeep between the frame and drive line. Increase in acceleration and gas mileage ( only 1 mpg ). Removal of original exhaust took longer than the install. Only downside is that it’s louder than I expected. Exhaust dumps out before rear axle. All in all I would recommend.

Throaty Enhancement, Entertaining to Install
Reader reviews are spot on re installation: removal of the old pipe and muffler are challenging and time consuming (3 hours). Spend $20 to get some exhaust hanger removal pliers. It may be the only time you ever use them but you'll be glad you spent the $20. Installation of the new pipe and muffler was a snap. 30 minutes. Sound: Love it. Particularly at and above 3000 rpm. why 4 instead of 5 stars on the Exhaust note? I'd prefer a slightly deeper register and the same throaty sound at lower rpm. That said, I'd purchase it again in a heart beat.

Good exhaust but melted my parking brake
The exhaust is decent, and I bought it because I didn't want to have to cut anything. If you leave the length how it comes out of the box though it touches the parking brake cable and will melt it. I had to cut an inch and a half off with a grinder just to make it fit right.

Does not fit right
The system did not fit right, it rubbed on the frame and was way to close to the emergency brake line. I ended up taking it to my local exhaust shop to have the issues fixed and have an over axle pipe added because it was way to loud in the cab. If you do buy make sure you get the one with the over axle pipe.

Dope Exhaust
So, let me first tell you about why I gave it an overall rating of 4 stars. First of all, on a good note, the Exhaust Fit on my Jeep perfectly and the Exhaust Note is pretty badass. But, it's not really that loud. I mean sure, if you speed up really fast, yeah, it's freaking loud, but just an overall cruise, it's not that loud. For the installation; it took me 6 hours to take off the Stock Exhaust and then took me about an hour or so to install this aftermarket Exhaust. But, all in all, it's a pretty badass Exhaust and it's definitely a Bang for your Buck.

LOUD!!!! LOL!
The set up is great, I've seen some complaints about it installing too close to the frame and hitting when vibrating under load, well it's doing that with mine also. I'll have to look at wiring it or putting something between to keep it from hitting. As for the sound, it's loud for me, at least when leaving the development at 5AM. Lol, neighbors love me! It is a great sound I'm keepin it!!

Magnaflow Cat back
Great exhaust. Has a nice deep tone and is nice and loud. It does have a decent bit of drone at highway speeds but other than that it's the perfect exhaust for me

Great muffler
Not only does it make the jeep sound better, it has some noticeable improvement in responsiveness and mileage efficiency. I also like that I don't have to worry about scraping the muffler on rocks while rock crawling. I would recommend cutting the old rubber hangers out and buying new ones to save time and hassle.

Awesome exhaust
Great sound, louder than I expected but doesn’t sound like a civic anymore. If your looking for extra clearance this is the exhaust for you. Getting the old exhaust was the difficult part, installation of this exhaust was cake maybe 20 min to complete.

Review from Magnaflow Off-Road Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust (07-11 Jeep Wrangler JK 4 Door)
sounds pretty good, not perfect
as everyone else said, it takes 4 hours to remove the old on and 30 minutes to install the new one. it gives my 07 3.8 L a nice rumble (or roar if i gas it in park). its really not as loud as they advertise, which is a good thing for many of us, the idle noise is surprisingly quiet too, but still deep. only complaint is that when accelerating, its not quite the richest note i was hoping for (another review said it sounds sorta like a riced out civic and i can hear it) however it is still not that bad, especially since i have a trilink long arm lift and needed this style. all in 4/5 stars, great price, pretty nice sound, easy install.

Horrible
I never write reviews but this needs one. The sound this thing makes at speed is horrendous. Idle is nice. It doesn't sound like the video at all. I wanted to like it but not gonna happen. The stock exhaust is going back on this weekend.

Good low tone!!
This is exactly what I wanted, something with high clearance and nothing super loud. You really only hear it when you step on the gas and it has the nice low growl that I was looking for!! Couldn't be happier, oh and super easy to install. Taking off the stock exhaust is 80 the time of the install.

Just installed my magnaflow exhaust muffler today, was worried that I couldn’t get the muffler off after watching various videos but it was a piece of cake. Whole thing with the removal and install took less than 2 hours. Sound is freaking awesome.

Great quality, simple install, (and uninstall)..... took it off after just 2 days, the drone inside was ridiculous. Sounded more like a trail damaged exhaust than a performance exhaust.

Review from Magnaflow Off-Road Pro-Series Cat-Back Exhaust (07-11 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door)
Great upgrade!
Love the tone of this exhaust.... It's definitely noticeable, but low enough that it doesn't sound like a fast and furious car. I added this exhaust, CAI and throttle body spacer. I've gained almost one MPG running a 91 octane tune on 35s on my 2011 2 door manual. Still have the dead spot in the pedal, but my Jeep does feel a little more responsive. It sits in front of the rear axle so frees up a ton of room underneath where the factory exhaust was mounted. (Had a local shop install for $100) Great purchase!
