This JL Audio 6.5-inch coaxial speaker system is for those of you that have a 1987 and up Wrangler and are looking to upgrade some of the stereo components in your Jeep. Now, these are going to be a 6.5-inch round speaker, so they're going to fit in your sound bars. If you have a newer JK, it's also going to fit behind the dash. So there are a couple of different opportunities to get these installed. These are going to be a high-quality sound. They're going to be really crisp and clean, and they are definitely going to be an upgrade over your factory system. Now, this system here includes just two 6.5-inch speakers. However, there's also a system from JL Audio that will include these two speakers, as well as two tweeters and two crossovers. So if you're looking to add some additional components, JL Audio has you covered there as well. Now, because these are high-quality components, you are going to have to expect to pay a little bit more than some of the other systems out there on the market. But if you're looking for some high quality, this is going to give you that. As I said here, you're getting two 6.5-inch speakers that will go either behind the dash of your JK, or up in the sound bar of your Jeep's. This is going to be a pair of coaxial speakers, so these are going to connect very easily into that factory system. Just a little bit of wiring is going to be necessary. But for the most part, this is going to be a plug-and-play upgrade. So for the installation, I am going to give this a one out of three wrenches. I'm going to say you can get these installed in right around an hour, maybe a little bit more if you decide to install these behind the dashboard. But if you are putting these up in your sound bar, again, very simple. All you need to do is unscrew your factory speakers, unplug them, plug in your new speakers, and screw them up into the sound bar. Very simple, anyone can do this in their driveway. These speakers come in at right around $180, and I do think that's going to be a pretty good deal for the quality that you're getting. Anytime you buy a premium component like this, you have to expect to pay a little bit more, but you are going to get more as well. If you're on a bit more of a budget, there are certainly some less expensive 6.5-inch speakers that you can get. However, I would not expect them to be the same quality of audio output as these ones. So if you're looking to upgrade the 6.5-inch speakers in your Wrangler, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this kit from JL Audio that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Difficulty Level:Simple installation for anyone
Will they fit in the factory pods in the 2006
Where do I find an aftermarket bracket to fit these speakers into a 2016 Jeep wrangler soundbar? I am having a problem finding one that will fit.
To adapt the JL Audio 6.5 in. Coaxial Speaker System to work with the over sized 6 3/4" holes in the soundbar, a speaker adapter should be sourced via a stereo supply store such as Crutchfield.
Do these come with plug-and-play wiring harnesses? I would like to intsal these in my soundbar and maybe the component set in my dash eventually but I am a novice as far as wiring goes.
These do not come with a plug and play harness. They will need to be wired up by cutting and splicing into the existing speaker plug or a plug end can be sourced as well from various retailers. In some cases modifications to the speaker mounting bracket or a new aftermarket replacement will be needed to fit the speakers in correctly.

Great but did not fit perfect
Great sounding and easy to install, but required extra spacers to fit securely into the sound bar of my 2014 JK.

Awesome sound bar option
I did a full JL speaker replacement in my Jeep and have these on my sound bar. The sound is amazing and I'm only powering them with Sony XAV-AX100 head unit. (17w RMS/55w max). You will need a bracket to install them but I cut the factory speakers out of their brackets and reused them. I also recommend using a little polyfil in the sound bar. it makes a huge difference.

Good Speakers/Not Plug-and-Play
These speakers produce good sound; however, you will need to purchase an aftermarket bracket if you intend to install them in the factory slot of your sound bar as the speaker circumference is smaller than the factory speakers (that also come with a built-in bracket). Additionally, if you don't want to splice wires and cut off your existing wiring harness, you'll have to purchase an aftermarket wiring harness to affix to these speakers, as well, as they are not included. While the speakers are nice, I spent $22 more getting the appropriate equipment to install these effectively.

The speakers were easy to install, and sound great. I have had them in now for about 6 months and the sound is just as clear as the day they were installed.
