AX5 Transmission Master Overhaul Kit (88-02 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ)

Overhaul Your Transmission. Beyond the major parts, such as gears and shafts, your transmission is made up of a bunch of smaller parts. Each of these small parts is essential to the transmission’s operation. Of course, all also wear out over time. With Crown Automotive’s Jeep Wrangler AX5 Transmission Master Overhaul Kit, you receive all of the small parts you need to complete a full transmission overhaul. The kit comes with beatings, gaskets, input and output seals, RTV sealant, blocking springs and rings, and some other small parts.

Quality Construction. Crown mimics the factory specifications for every part in this kit, meaning you get stock quality at a lower price. All parts are made using either steel or brass, with rubber used where needed.

Expert Installation Required. These small parts use your vehicle’s existing mounting hardware, where applicable. Installing any single piece of this kit requires advanced automotive knowledge. Using the kit to rebuild your entire transmission should only be done by an expert. Note that the kit does not come with gears and shafts, which you must source separately if needed.

Protection from Defects. With Crown Automotive’s variable warranty, you’re protected against defects in manufacturing or materials. This limited warranty lasts for either 1 year or 12,000 miles and carries some exclusions.

Application. This Jeep Wrangler AX5 Transmission Master Overhaul Kit replaces small parts in the transmission of Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ models made between 1988-2002. It’s compatible with AX-5 transmissions.

Installation Difficulty. Using the entire kit to overhaul your transmission takes 6-8 hours and should only be attempted by experts.
