Simple installation for anyone.
Ryan: These Deegan 38 Rear Bumper LED floodlights are for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018 JK or a 2018 and up JL that have a Deegan 38 rear bumper installed on it and want the lights that are designed to fit in that bumper. These are specifically designed for that bumper. Of course, you could purchase these and you could run them wherever you wanted to, but if you have that bumper, these lights are going to fill those holes perfectly, so this is going to be a perfect choice for that. This is going to be a very high-quality light. These are made by KC, designed for that Deegan 38 bumper. This comes with the wiring harness. You're going to get a ton of light from these, a lot of life. They're very well-built and they're very, very bright. These are going to be a pretty easy install. I'm going to go with one out of three wrenches here. These do come with weatherproof connectors on both the wiring harness that's included and on the lights themselves, so there's no wiring to do. Again, very, very easy one out of three wrenches, and we'll talk more about that in just a second. Now, with lighting, you generally get what you pay for. So as I mentioned, very high quality, very bright light, a lot of longevity here. These are going to be a little bit more expensive than your bargain basement lights that you can find. The fact that these fit that Deegan 38 bumper perfectly and that they are as high quality as they are, in my opinion, means that they're worth a little bit more. If you want to try to find another light to squeeze into that bumper and make it work, you can. But, I don't know that you're going to find something that's going to fit the holes perfectly. This is going to be the perfect choice if you have that bumper. So, let's talk about how these are built. This is going to be a 6061 aluminum housing so it's very high-quality aluminum alloy that's used here. So, a lot of strength from this. You're not going to end up with any sort of rusting or corrosion on these, especially with the black powder coat finish. These are going to hold up really well for you. You're going to have an optically clear and also shatterproof lens on this light. Now, this is on the back of the Jeep, so it's not going to be forward facing and you're not going to get a stone throw up against these lights, but it is nice to know that no matter what you do, you're not going to have any issues with damaging the lens on this light. Now, this is going to have a couple of LEDs on the inside of each of these lights. And these are going to be a flood pattern. So, these are designed to produce 120 degrees of flood light, which is perfect for a set of reverse lights. And that's really what these are going to be used for. Now, the wiring harness that these come with is designed to get you set up with a switch that's in the dashboard. So, as you're backing up, you can go ahead and flick that switch, or if you're a little bit more savvy with automotive wiring, you can go ahead and get this set up so that these will come on automatically when you switch your Jeep into reverse. That's not how this harness is designed right out of the box, but again, if you have some experience with automotive wiring, you can go ahead and do something like that, get a little bit creative with them. But overall, very high-quality light, very, very bright. They're at that 6,000 Kelvin color temperature, which is right where a lot of other LEDs are, so if you have other LEDs on your Jeep, they're going to match color temperature. You're not going to find one that's really, really blue with one that's really, really yellow. They're going to be right in that area. So, I think these are going to be a great choice.A pair of these lights is going to run you $150, and like I said before, you can certainly find less expensive lights. There are very, very inexpensive LED cube lights, but what you're not going to get from those that you will get from this is a light that fits that bumper perfectly. It has a cutout in it designed specifically for this light, and you're not going to get a light that's as high quality as this one is, or one that includes a comprehensive wiring harness that makes it really easy to get everything installed. So, are these a little bit more expensive than other lights out there? Yes. Is it worth it for the quality and the ease of installation? In my mind, it is. Now a member of the install team will show you how to get these installed.Man: First thing you're going to want to do is remove the cover plates where your lights will be going using a 5/32 Allen head. With the cover plates removed, we can now go ahead and install our lights using the provided hardware. Now that we have our lights installed, we're going to go ahead and install the trim using a 5/32 Allen head. Now that we have the lights installed on the bumper, let's go ahead and throw it on the Jeep. Now, we're ready to run the provided wiring harness to the battery and to the inside of the cab. Once you have your wires connected in the back, you're going to go ahead and run them to the battery as well as inside the cab. For my purpose, I'm going to run them along the frame. When you're running your wires, you want to make sure to keep them away from any hazards, such as the exhaust, the driveshaft, or any pinching points if you off-road. Once you have your wires up to the battery, you're going to go ahead and connect your yellow wire to positive and black to ground. Once you have your wires connected to your battery, you're going to want to go ahead and make sure your switch works. Ours does. And then, you're going to want to run your switch to inside the cab. The easiest way to do it is go through your firewall and mount the switch in a desired location. And that wraps up our review and install. You can check out more at extremeterrain.com.

Finished off the bumper look and work great!
Fit the bumper as advertised and work great. I wired them to a switch panel above the rear view. I considered wiring them with reverse lights but decided to just switch them on as needed. I can actually see at night when backing up now.Helpful (1)

Can't be wrong
Bought these KC lights for the Deegan38 rear. As we all know reverse is not the direction we want to go in! However, these really deliver an exceptional amount of light and all around rear illumination. We picked ours up for about 150 and for KC lights, that isn't bad. Fit and finish is excellent connections are rock solid. Plenty of wire to run it.Helpful (11)
