Extra Cargo Space. A Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack gives you the additional space you need to carry all your essential off-road cargo without sacrificing interior passenger space. This Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is perfect for your next off-road adventure or family vacation and can hold up to 350 pounds of extra cargo.

Removable Cross Bars. Barricade Off-Road had the foresight to design their Roof Rack with removable cross bars. This removable cross bar design will allow for easy storage of different size cargo loads, as well as easy removal of either a soft or hard top without the need to disassemble the entire roof rack.

Heavy Duty Construction. Manufactured from heavy duty 2-inch diameter (0.12-inch wall thickness) steel tubing, this Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is completed in a textured black powder coat finish for aggressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance. For those with body lifts installed, this kit also includes three additional sets of spacers to accommodate the various body lifts on today's market, so there is no need to compromise on your rig.

Bolt-on Installation. The Barricade Roof Rack features an easy, bolt on installation and comes with all the required hardware and mounts. It’s designed to work with a variety of aftermarket bumpers, but will need extra clearances once installed. Due to the mounting clearances, this Roof Rack cannot be used in conjunction with any bumper that wraps around the side of your Jeep. Additional spacers are included to accommodate body lifts.

Application. The Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is specifically designed to fit the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJs, excluding Unlimited models, equipped with an aftermarket bumper that does

not wrap around the sides of your vehicle. It will

not fit 2004-2006 TJ Unlimited Edition models.

Technical Note. This Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack is for storage only; it is

    not designed for rollover protection.

Freight Notes. Freight items can only be shipped within the continental 48 states, no expedited methods. What is freight shipping? Your Answers are Right Here!.

      Works well

Got this for my husband for Christmas. He installed it in a couple of hours on our 2003 TJ Wrangler with no problems. He did say it would be an improvement to have something better than plastic knobs that won't last long. Overall, if you're handy and can usually put things together, you won't have a problem. It looks great and seems sturdy.

      Jeep Rack

Just finished getting my rack installed. Since my Jeep is an 01 it was a little hard to get the door bolts out but that’s the jeeps fault not the rack. So far I’m very pleased with the rack. It was a Birthday gift from my husband and now on to the next project.

      Built Solid! Great Rack!

Solid rack overall great build quality. Had to drill out the rear mounting holes due to using the stock bumper. Only complaint is there aren't different spacing options for the crossbars without drilling more holes. Had to modify the spacing in order to fit my ski/snowboard rack.

      Watch the install video

Individual parts came wrapped in green and clear bubble wrap. Directions were not detailed enough. Installed the first green wrapped part - driver side upright post. The rear bumper factory bolts were quite short so I opted to use the ones supplied with the kit. The factory bolts had no head and had three spot welds holding them to the bumper. This required removing the rear bumper and cutting the factory spot welds. After spending some effort to mount the rear upright bar (wrapped in green) I realized it was meant for the passenger side. After installing the frame I mounted the top crossbars. Check them first. One was a good inch and a half shorter than the other two. This required a rachet/strap to pull each side together to mate the shorter crossbar. The finap fit revealed a less than perfect fit between the posts and the center piece that connects them. The rack seems very solid although it creates quite a bit of wind noise. I installed a 52 inch wind deflector which made a lot of difference. Luggage carrier mounted with ease.

You get what you pay for here and there.....

Ok, so like the title says...you get what you pay for... This is an inexpensive option for a luggage rack for a soft top jeep tj and they so state. The installation video here is great but deceptively easy. I have a background as an aviation mechanic as well as wrenching on other things over the years so I was able to get in on the vehicle but it took more than three hours and involved grinding, re-drilling to align holes and just plain brute force to get it mounted. Once mounted, it appears solid as a rock but then again, it as only just been mounted so we will see. I echo other commentators re the plastic handles they give you tighten down the top cross bars. They are cheap plastic and break away from the embedded nuts on the first try to tighten them. Just use a wrench on the nuts. I will also say that one of the front uprights arrived somewhat torqued outward at the top so be prepared to use some force to attach the side rails. Like the instructions mentioned, if you intend on using the stock nuts and bolts at the bumper for the rear uprights, be prepared to enlarge the existing mounting holes on the upright. I had to order some carbide grinding bits for that as well as a titanium bit to remove a broken easy out and stripped stock hinge bolt. (not related to the roof rack but beware that the star bit in much stronger metal than the hinge bolt and it likely to strip as the screws are really in there). Overall, more of a pain in the A** than they make it out to be but like I said, once it is on, it appears solid albeit under tension because of some torqueing inherent in the support tubes. I will say that because is was such a pain to get it on and required some alterations, I will look elsewhere for a basket now because I don't feel like screwing around so much. Let the buyer beware. They say it is a cheaper alternative to others out there and it is but again, you get what you pay for.....

      Looks Great!

Fit was perfect, takes a little thinking, tools, and some patience but two of us had it together in about 2 hours. Looks great and metal was heavy and is a great value. Be patient, watch the video, read the instructions. I did not have to make my holes larger on the bumper.

      Not everyting is as appears

Did not fit as stated! I had to modify my jeep but cutting, and grinding some of the bumper to get the proper fit. It took about three and a half hours to get it done. Very disappointed!!

Review from Barricade Roof Rack - Textured Black (04-06 Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited)

      Heavy duty

Recently set up this rack on my ‘05 TJ. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rack material, though a little dismayed at the total weight. Setup was difficult as many of the predrilled holes are slightly out of line. Definitely took some modification. Had read reviews aout the weak knobs on the crossbars and just used bolts instead.

Easy install. Plastic handles are garbage.

Works great with my rooftop tent. All of the plastic handles for the crossbars were lost in the first mile off road.

Yes it is inexpensive but if you don’t care that it doesn’t look the greatest once you fight with it to put it together it’s just ok I think if I had to do it over again I would spend the extra money for a better one

      Good Rack ... however!

The rack went on easy, however, after the first week I dumped the crossbar hardware and replaced it with grade 8 bolts and nylock nuts, also I have a snorkel I want to add which should be creative because the rack is in the same place!

      Solid rack but...

Seemingly strong, fairly easy to install after reading various comments and watching the video. The video shows the install with the stock bumper but grazes over the need to open the mounting holes. The video could easily cover this step. This is an easy step but apparently some folks have had trouble with it. Looks good, whistles like wind over a bottle but I still like it. I didn’t have any issues with the cheap plastic knobs. I put a few drops of super glue on the edges of the nut and allowed them dry before installing.
