Extra Cargo Space. A Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack gives you the additional space you need to carry all your essential off-road cargo without sacrificing interior passenger space. This Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is perfect for your next off-road adventure or family vacation and can hold up to 350lbs of extra cargo.

Removable Cross Bars. Barricade Off-Road had the foresight to design their Roof Rack with removable cross bars. This removable cross bar design will allow for easy storage of different size cargo loads, as well as easy removal of either a soft or hard top without the need to disassemble the entire roof rack.

Heavy Duty Construction. Manufactured from heavy duty 2" diameter (0.12" wall thickness) steel tubing, this Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is completed in a textured black powder coat finish for aggressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance. For those with body lifts installed, this kit also includes three additional sets of spacers to accommodate the various body lifts on today's market, so there is no need to compromise on your rig.

Bolt-on Installation. The Barricade Roof Rack features an easy, bolt on installation and comes with all the required hardware and mounts. Due to the mounting clearances, this Roof Rack cannot be used in conjunction with any bumper that wraps around the side of your Jeep. Additional spacers are included to accommodate body lifts.

3 Year Limited Warranty. To ensure the highest quality of their materials and craftsmanship, Barricade backs their products with a 3 Year Limited Warranty. Some exclusions may apply, please see manufacturer's warranty for details.

Application. The Barricade Off-Road Roof Rack System is specifically designed to fit the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models equipped with an aftermarket bumper that does not wrap around the sides of your vehicle.

Will the roof rack for with my aftermarket bumper?

    ChristopherP

    • The Barricade Roof Rack will allow use of aftermarket rear bumpers that do not wrap around the sides of the Jeep. Once that wrap around the sides would obstruct it from mounting correctly.

Does this get in the way of the door? Can the door and mirrors still be easily removed off of the jeep? Also how exactly is the back bolted on? The same bolts that bolt the rear bumper on? Still clears lightbars and lightbar brackets? How hard is it to remove a soft top when this is on? Thanks

    MichaelP

    • The Barricade Roof Rack will not interfere with door removal, however soft top removal will require disassembling the crossbars. The rear bars will share attachment points with the rear bumper. Fitment with light bars and brackets will vary depending on each manufacturers designs.

      Install sucks!

Installation was a real pain in the butt! both of the front risers pointed outward where they meet up with the top bar. I had to shim the plates where they bolt to the body with washers so I could get the top bar to install semi-strait back to the rear riser. the instructions are quite vague, they do not mention as to where the different length bolts go or where the different size washers go. the top bars need to mounted so that the holes for the cross bars are facing outwards (I had to disassemble and re-assemble correctly after the fact). I had to force and jimi-rig a lot to get this thing together on my jeep. it now seems to be a very sturdy rack but there are a few gaps where things didn't quite fit together very well. was very frustrating and ended up taking up a full day (7 hours) when I expected it to only take a couple of hours. I am very mechanically inclined and turn a lot of wrenches so its not like I am a beginner at this kind of stuff. I might have to second guess this brand in the future.

      grat rack

great rack at a great price, the paint is sturdy and matches other items with wrinkle powder coat finish. the included hand nuts are made of a soft plastic and the nuts spins inside of them so I replaced them with a hard plastic tri style nut from amazon made by winco, the thread pitch is 8x1.25 and you will need 6 of them. the hardware uses allen bolts and look clean but the bolts are a bit soft so be careful. the rack comes with height spacers on the rear and i didn't need any spacers to clear the oem hard top. we use it to carry our kayaks on top and it works great, no noticeable wind noise. I did have a hard time finding mirrors that I could mount to it so I could easily remove the doors and not have to mess with changing mirrors out but I found the perfect thing. I went with the seizmik pursuit with 2" tube mount. the mirrors are a convex lens and worked out perfect mounting them to the rack. I never need worry about mirrors regardless of doors on or off and the doors will not swing into the mirrors when opening

      Very Easy Install

The rack went on my 99 Wrangler with ease. It arrived very well packaged with parts to spare. I will say that the fact that I have a stubby bumper made it easy because there was plenty of room for the rack to bolt on. You can hear it while driving but everything on my jeep is loud anyway. Perfect for my paddle board.

      Barricade Roof Rack

The rack is well made. I am impressed with the coating and the heavy gauge steel this rack is built with. It fits my Jeep perfectly. I will be adding the roof basket next.

      Great rack

This is a very solid cargo rack. We are hauling two kayaks on it and it holds them great. Assembly, however is very frustrating. The directions are poor and the nuts and bolts are mixed sizes - some metric and some American, causing the need for several different tools for installation. But once assembled, it's a great roof rack for a soft top jeep.

      Extra muscle needed

Love the look of my new roof rack, and it is great to have some additional cargo space when needing to haul some gear. Just beware this is NOT a one person job! Took some time man handling the crossbars into place, but once it all came together, it looks and works great! Couldn't be happier with it in the long run!!

One of the nicest racks I've seen

This thing is heavy duty. Finish is nice and seems to be very durable. Definitely a two person job. Took two of us 2.5 hrs. Advice: leave hinge bolts a little loose, mount doors, shut them so the latch is lined up then tighten. Not doing this leaves room for the door hinge holes not to be aligned and your doors not to shut after u put the rack on. Rack functions well and looks cool.

Review from Barricade Roof Rack - Textured Black (04-06 Wrangler TJ Unlimited)

      LJ Barricade Roof Rack

Very nice roof rack for the money. The hardware that comes with it isn't the best, but it works fine. Have tested it numerous times with upwards of 300 pounds of gear and it was solid. Just remember to tighten everything once in a while; driving seems to loosen up the hardware over time.

      amazing roof rack

Install is very easy. Bolts right up with no drilling. Had trouble using factory bumper bolts on my tj. Had to removed and use bolts supplied with roof rack. And still easy to take off top bars to open and close cover. Highly recommend.

      winter ready now!!

after rushing to move the plow system to the replacement jeep i was worried about running into the trouble we had last year but after installing the new rack and basket we are set for the the winter. Bring on the snow! It's strength and sleek style makes it perfect for plowing and then summer trail riding with friends. i even have enough space to mount the go pro. Had trouble getting first rack delivered but Extreme did not question and had a replacement sent immediately. Install was easy enough for my husband but they should mention the fact that there is a left side right side to the rear mounting bars, otherwise piece of cake.

      Great value

As an 'all thumbs' kind of mechanic, I put this unit on pretty easily after figuring out some things the instructions didn't address, and visiting a local machine shop to remove the bumper bolts that were strangely welded on. Once all that was done, the fit was very good, and the materials seem to be good quality and hefty. Does add a bit of road noise during cruising, but WTH, it's a noisy Jeep anyway, right? Points for customer service: these guys have a Facebook page and responded promptly about my question on the bumper mount.

      Really nice rack

I would give it 5 stars except for a couple of issues. The driver's side front piece was angled outward quite a bit which really made it difficult to put in the front to rear horizontal bar. Then I found that the holes for the cross bar on the driver's side did not line up- I may have needed to swap the front and rear ends of that piece, but it was in such a bind that I just turned it with a pipe wrench and drilled new holes in each end for the bolts. The plastic knobs are flimsy, when I put first one on and tightened it the bolt came loose from the plastic. I ended up just stripping all the bolts from the knobs and just using them. I did have to go buy a drill bit big enough to enlarge the holes for the rear pieces to fit on stock bumper, would have been nice if it came with slightly bigger holes. Overall a nice looking sturdy rack though. I am pleased with it.

      great rack for the money!

Your not going to find a stronger, well built rack anywhere for the money that extreme terrain offers. The textured black and heavy duty pipes look like they'll stand the test of time. You have to drill larger holes in the rear up bars if using a stock bumper with hardware not that hard to put together shipping was lightning fast And the product was packed good to ensure no banging around during shipment.
