Justin: I'm Justin with extremeterrain.com. And today, I'm taking a closer look at and installing the Barricade Rocker Armor Kit available for your '21 and newer 4DR Bronco at home. Now, you guys should be checking out the Barricade Armor if you're looking for an affordable bolt-on protection solution for the lower rocker area of your rig and you don't want or need step assistance of other options available currently on the site. Now, the Barricades are currently one of the more affordable methods of protecting the rocker area of your four-door Bronco and will utilize a heavy-duty steel plating or in this case, square tubing to allow the truck to basically bump or slide off of any rocks or obstacles off-road without crunching that valuable rocker metal. Now, these options will be extremely low-key and almost disappear visually from the truck once bolted up. And that's something I do really enjoy about the Barricades. To me, at first glance, they are very similar to the sliders that Ford throws on the Bronco from the factory and I like that. I think they look great while still serving a purpose. Now, because of that low-key design, again, they will not offer any step functionality like some other options on the site, but that will ultimately help keep the price in check compared to some other options that might offer more functionality in this case such as a step. Now, I briefly mentioned materials earlier here, gang, but I do wanna go back and talk about just how thick that steel plating is with the Barricades. They feel about 15 to 20 pounds per side here. Certainly pretty burley. And while they don't disclose the exact thickness of that material, I feel like it's up to the task of handling some pretty hardcore abuse without folding up like a soda can. Now, there will be bigger options out there, no doubt, that might cover a little bit more surface area underneath the truck, but ultimately the Barricades will cover the vital area of that rocker just below your doors on your four-door at home. Now, hey, if you have a two-door Bronco, maybe you stumbled across this video hoping for an option to fit your rig, well don't worry, Barricade has you covered as well with their two-door option also available here on the site.Moving into pricing, and again, if you're after affordable rocker protection for your rig, you're gonna be hard-pressed to find a more affordable set than this. Right around that low $300 price point for the four-door Barricades, that's gonna be a fraction of the price of most of your other options available here on the site, whether from ARB, Fab Fours, or something else. Now, another plus with the Barricade sliders or armor is the fact that the install will be a breeze due to the simple bolt-on design. Now, because of that, the site is gonna stick with a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, call it a couple of hours at absolute most to complete from start to finish. But now what do you say we grab our toolbox? Let's head out to the shop and give you our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Man: Tools used for this install, 3/8 ratchet, 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench, 13 and 16-millimeter sockets. Hey, guys. I'm gonna show you how to install our Rocker Armor here on our '21 Bronco. It's not a bad install. So let's get started. So the first thing we're gonna do on our installation is we're gonna get our brackets out and I have them here. And you're gonna notice that there's two different styles. There's this style up here, which is gonna be our front bracket, which is gonna mount up here. And then you have these brackets here that are more bent like that and they have that contour to them. These are gonna go...one's gonna go here, one's gonna go there. Now, in this body on this truck underneath, there are threaded holes already in from the factory. There's two here, two there, and two up front. So we're gonna get right into it. We're gonna start by putting these brackets on and get these started and we're gonna climb under the truck and get our bolts started. So now we're at the back of the vehicle here. We're going to stick our bracket on. You see there's holes right here that are already drilled and tapped. In the kit they supply us with a 16-millimeter bolt with a lock washer and a flat washer. So, we're gonna just stick our bracket up in place here. We're gonna start our bolts. Start our other one in the top hole here. I'm gonna run them all in, just like that. I'm gonna take my 16-millimeter on my ratchet and tighten these up. Same with this one.So now we're gonna install our middle bracket. I'm gonna take my 16-millimeter bolt that's supplied in the kit again, get it started here and do same with top one. And again, I'm gonna use my ratchet on my 16-millimeter socket, to tighten these up. And now we're gonna install our front bracket. I'm gonna take my 16-millimeter bolts, get this up in place here and get them started. And then we'll take our other one. I'm gonna run them in by hand as far as I can. Then I'm gonna take my 16-millimeter socket and ratchet and tighten these up. Same with this one. And now we're ready to install our sidestep. So now that we have our brackets in place, we're going to install our rocker guard here. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take this and I'm gonna stick it onto the brackets. I'm gonna take two 13-millimeter bolts I have here and I'm gonna start the middle bracket here to hold this in place. So now I'm gonna put this and just rest it on here. I'm gonna take my two bolts, I'm gonna start in the middle bracket here and get these started. I'm gonna start one in the back side of it too, and that way it'll hold it in place. Sometimes it's a little hard to get the back one started. There we go.And now we'll get underneath, put our back one in and then put our bolts in our front one. So now we're on our back bracket here close to our rear tire, I'm gonna take my two 13-millimeter bolts and get these started first. I'm gonna do the back one first. And then once I get the back one started, I'm gonna do the one on the bottom here. And then I'm gonna take my 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench, start with the back one first, and get that one tight. And then do the bottom one with my 13-millimeter socket on my 3/8 ratchet. Now we'll move on to our middle one. So now we started these two bolts and I'm gonna tighten them up. I'm gonna take my 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench on the back and snug the back up first, and my 13-millimeter socket with my 3/8 ratchet and tighten the bottom one up. Now we'll move on to our front bracket. So now we're up on our front bracket here. I'm gonna take my two 13-millimeters again, get these started. Do the back one first and then do the bottom one. I'm gonna take my 13-millimeter ratcheting wrench again and get up here. Snug the back one up and tighten it up. Then tighten the bottom up with my 13-millimeter socket on my 3/8 ratchet. And now you're gonna wanna just repeat this whole install procedure on the opposite side. That wraps up this review and install of our Barricade Rocker Armor for '21 and up Bronco 4DRs. Thanks for watching. And for all things Bronco, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
