Hey, I'm Kevin with Extreme Terrain, and this is my review of the Barricade 3 in. bull bar with the integrated skid plate. Now this bar, well, it's a glorified brush guard that's going to give you a heavy-duty look without the heavy-duty price, and quite frankly, without a whole lot of heavy-duty function. But that's okay because there's some features that I really like about it.The wrinkle black powder coat looks great, and it's got integrated light mounts, which is a cool feature to have. We all want to upgrade to off-road lighting. Now the skid plate, let's face it, you come into contact with a pile of rocks, it's probably not going to save the day, but arguably it's much better than the factory plastic skid plate. And in at around the $270 range, it's not going to break the bank, and upgrades your look over stock. One of the best things about it is that it's a simple bolt-on operation. The Barricade bull bar is designed to fit 2010 to 2016 Wrangler JKs, and although the instructions say it's going to take about two hours to install, it only took us about an hour. It's an easy no-drill installation, and you're going to need some metric sockets and wrenches, particularly a 16 mm wrench, and just a decent socket set.Now the bull bar looks pretty tough on the front of the Jeep, and actually this finish blends in really nicely with the factory plastic, but if the wrinkle black powder coat is not your flavor, it also comes in a polished stainless and a smooth powder coat. So the other thing I like about it, other than these light mounting tabs up here, is the fact that it's not going to interfere with your factory fog lights, so you can still keep this lighting. Now, you can't ask it to do too much, but on light-duty trails it will push some brush away, protect your radiator, and the skid plate, well, it's going to work, but you've got to realize that it's just a limited skid plate. So, all in all, it looks cool, and like the rest of the Barricade stuff, it comes with a three-year warranty, so you can't really go wrong. The price is good, the look is good, and I don't know, I kind of give it a thumbs-up. It's a nice little product. So that's my review of the Barricade 3 in. bull bar with the integrated skid plate.

Annoyed with install but the bar looks fine
I spent about an hour trying to figure out why the12mm x 25mm Hex Bolt would not screw in. Turns out that the Bolt is not long enough to fasten when the lock washer is on it so you need to install it with just the flat washer. Would have been nice if the company informed people of this in advance especially since it looks like other people have had the same issue. The directions it comes with are bad and the photos are barely visible so stop being cheap and make some better directions. You will need to spend some time in the beginning sorting all the bolts and washers out since nothing is labeled. The set up is very easy once you get everything sorted and you decipher the layout on your own. The front of the bar had some scuffs/scratches which is not cool when you are purchasing something new. Aside from those issues the bar looks fine. I am using it for a little protection from getting bumped by other cars when I am parallel parked on the street until I figure out what I ultimately want to do with the front bumper. For some reason everyone likes to park right up on my Jeep even when there is plenty of space to park and it drives me insane.Helpful (2)

Sharp Looking Bull Bar
Great Bull Bar for someone looking to dress up their Jeep but not necessarily looking to rock crawl. Well made. Directions in the box are not very thorough. Directions on the web site are much easier to follow, but still don’t explain which bolts to use where. Other than that, the final product looks great. Took me two hours to install on my own due to a lot of trial and error with the bolts, but it was recommended and would be easier with two people installing.Helpful (3)

Super easy install
It took me longer to figure out the instructions than it did to install. Utilized a couple youtube videos as the instructions that come with the product are terrible. Once I had it figured out it took me less than 20 minutes to install.Helpful (3)

Affordable Option to Make Your Jeep Look Tough
I wanted to find something to make the front of my Jeep look a little more rugged without having shell out for a full on front bumper/winch. While that'll eventually come, I came across this bull bar and couldn't be happier! It was actually very easy to install and I was about to hoist everything in place by myself (using some muscle). The only difficulty was in cutting and aligning the air dam to fit to the new hardware. A skillsaw some patience will do the trick, but eventually it fits in place. Everyone that sees my Jeep loves the look and says it gives off a secret service / military vibe.Helpful (3)

Does NOT mount very easily on the 75th anniversary edition bumper. The small brackets hit the bottom of the bumper and won't line up. Had to modify them.Helpful (3)

Bull Bar w/ Skid Plate
It seems to be of good quality. A couple of the bolts could be a little longer. Need to supply lock nuts. These can be purchased at your local hardware for a few bucks. I installed it by myself in under a few hours. Looks awesome! Looks great with factory bumper. Replace the splash shield after installation is a bit tricky.Helpful (2)

Worth the challenge
It took a little work to get it on, but it looked great during before I upgraded my entire bumper. Sturdy piece, but sucky instructions.Helpful (2)
How much, if any, does the bull bar interfere with/block the fog lamps?
The Barricade 3 in. Bull Bar w/ Skid Plate should not interfere with the fog lights due to their beam pattern.
Could this take a hit from a deer?
We have heard stories about the Barricade 3 in. Bull Bar w/ Skid Plate still looking great after impact with a deer, but we have not specifically tested the bull bar for an accident like that.
What is the distance of the light mounts? Can I buy 6" lights? Thanks.
Dual 6" lights will mount on this Bull Bar.
Is there a video showing how to install? I have the bull bar for 09 JKU
Could I put a winch on it?
A winch cannot be mounted on this item.
Due to design changes from 2009 to 2010, these are not going to fit all JK models, and are year-specific.
The powdercoat will not allow you to ground a light. Exposed metal contact between the terminal, and ground would be required. This can be accomplished by removing a section of powdercoat, or drilling a hole to accept a screw that makes metal contact.
Please send a picture of your bumper and this item number to firstname.lastname@example.org for further assistance.
This item is designed to be used on 2007-2009 Wranglers with the factory bumpers.
Yes, this bull bar will work with a 2018 Wrangler Golden Eagle.
The Barricade 3 in. Bull Bar will weigh in at around 20lbs with a .050" wall thickness tubing.
Unfortunately, this will not fit with the hard rock winch plate, since both parts are required to be bolted into the frame rails.
This bull bar will only work on the 10-18 Wrangler JKs and will not fit the JL Wrangler.
Yes, the Barricade 3 in. Bull Bar is designed for the 2010-18 model Wranglers will be compatible with your 2017 Winter edition.
